AAA Packages not cheaper.....

I called AAA today just to see what the price would be if they booked my entire package for me with the AAA discount and opposed to what i have now ( my AAA room only discount and my passes from ticketmania)....doing it on my own is cheaper, does this sound correct? Anyone else have a similar situation...thanks in advance for your help.

If all you are getting is a room and tickets, then it makes no difference. If you want the dining plan or something extra like that, you have to book through AAA, since that is the only way to get the room discount.

You are 100% correct.

When you book a AAA room-only reservation through Disney, you're receiving the same room discount (percentage) that you get through a AAA travel agent. When you buy your tix from ticketmania, you get a small discount that you cannot get when buying from Disney or AAA. So, when you book your discounted room through Disney, and buy your discounted tickets through an outside source, like ticketmania, you're saving more than you would if you got it all through Disney or AAA.

The only time that you save by booking through AAA is when you're wanting a Magic Your Way PLUS Dining Package (includes room, tickets, and meals). This package can only be booked with a AAA discount on the room portion of the package by calling a AAA travel agent. Disney cannot give you the AAA discount on a package.

For 10 years a member of AAA, I have ALWAYS found doing it (disney) by yourself (armed with discount codes/AP) is cheaper than AAA. The only good thing about AAA is other trips (our trip to Atlantis, Paradise Island), and tripticks and maps/guidebooks.
