Generally, which offers better hotel discounts? I have both

It depends on where you stay as I don't believe everyone has an Entertainment Rate. The only hotel that I know for sure does is the Howard Johnson in which case their ET rate trumps the AAA discount every time. I believe the AAA discount is about 10% off whereas the ET takes it to $59/night. And they just opened up a ton of ET dates.

I would say the Entertainment rate is better, and HOJO's doesn't offer the AAA discount. When I originally booked my trip for Feb/09, was told that don't offer the AAA discount, but were willing to offer me 10% off the rack rate. The DIScount is 15% with HOJO's, so you are better off using that if you don't have the Entertainment rate/book. If you have an AP then you automatically get 20% discount, and if the Ent rates come available during the time that you are staying there, then you get the room for the Ent rate. It really depends on what hotel you stay at. Hojo's has the biggest Entertainment discount, with the rates being half off of standard rates...a wonderful deal, but it's only offered on certain days. Here's a link to when they're available: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

There are a couple of other hotels in the area that offer a discount with the Entertainment card, but as far as I remember the discounts are around 10% or so...nothing as generous as the Hojo's discount.

AAA is hit-or-miss, but there are some great deals to be had. I recently booked a room at BWPPI for $70-something a night, which is a HUGE discount. You can find what hotels are offering AAA discounts by first looking on AAA's website and then comparing the prices listed to the prices listed on the hotels' websites. Then you can beither book through AAA or directly through the hotel, depending on which has the best rate.
