AAA or APH?

I have a AAA card but am willing to buy an annual pass if the discount is greater. Does anyone know which one has the better discount rate?

At the moment, I believe AAA gets the better rate. Try going to the Universal hotels site and put your dates in, using the codes - either AAA or APH and see what rates it gives you.

When I pulled up rates a few months back to book for June the APH and AAA rates were the same. Other times I have seen AAA lower so it just seems to vary.

Keep checking the rates and go with the one thats lowest at the time.

I checked a couple of weeks ago, and the APH rate was about $4 cheaper than the AAA rate. However, I stayed with AAA because I am using Lowes 1st, and would lose opportunity for free upgrade and bennies if went with APH. Still hoping for APH to come down though.

I just booked 2 nights in October, the AAA rate was $26 less per night than the APH rate. I originally booked at the APH rate, then checked the AAA rate, saw it was lower and called for the new rate. No problem, they changed my booking, sent me a new confirmation email, and all is good! I'll keep checking as the months go by to see of the rate gets any lower as the date draws near.

Just a heads up - if you happen to be a Florida or Georgia resident, then the resident rates are the same as the APH rate without having to buy the AP.

I'll be signing up for AAA soon and was wondering, do I book my Disney room through AAA, or do I just call Disney and give them my AAA number?

I have stayed at the RPH numerous times. What I have found is usually the AAA discount will come out ahead of the AP rate and be cheaper. But usually (not always) a AP rate will come out later and be alot cheaper. For example I booked by June trip with the AAA rate for 188 night. Later the APH rate came out for 129 and I changed my reservation to the APH rate.

There are some great discounts you get with an AP, for example:

10% savings on 1-day and 15% savings on multi-day theme park tickets (up to 6 people)

20% savings at merchandise stores

and my favorite...
15% savings at all restaurants (excluding carts and alcohol) - I've gotten the discount at the carts before!

check the AP website and click on the benefits link

If you get to USO at least once a year, I think it's worth it. My DH travels to Orlando about 4 times a year for business and always "stops by" to ride The Hulk, then leaves! It's definitely worth it for him!:thumbsup2

You are posting on the Universal forum, but if you are really asking about Disney, the answer is that you can either call the Disney reservation number and ask for the AAA discount, or you can book directly through AAA. The discount will be the same.
