It seems that I read somewhere that AAA members had a special viewing spot roped off for them to watch Wishes. Has anybody seen or done that??? Is it worth it? Thanks! :flower:

The AAA viewing area is the place just in front of the Plaza Restaurant, down by the water. It has tables with umbrellas and by day it's a smoking area.

I saw the fireworks there once years ago when it was part of a special offer I was participating in. It was a really nice view of the fireworks.

Be advised, however, that (I think) you have to have booked a package with AAA to take advantage of the viewing area, not just be a AAA member.

I could be wrong, but I think it has to be a specific pkg with AAA, as well. We booked a pkg with AAA for our 8/05 trip and didn't have a voucher. Seems to me, it was select pkgs only. However, we found a spot right near the designated spot and it was perfect.

I meant to add - while that spot is nice, and you get to sit down and relax, we've had great luck and great views by simply walking to the middle of Main Street 5 minutes before the fireworks start. Our favorite spot is near the Tip Board.

Thanks everyone. You guys mentioned that several years ago AAA did this, so I wonder if they even do it anymore? I did book my whole package through AAA, but I did not do the premium- premium package. Unless somebody does know if they still do this, I'll just have to wait until I get my final trip information from AAA. :cool1: Anyways, thanks so far! :flower:

I think I was the only one who mentioned years ago, and I just wanted to clarify that it wasn't a AAA promotion at that time - it was through the old Magic Kingdom Club, which I was a member of, and it was a one-time only special kind of deal (it was called "Magic Delivery", and you had to send in a coupon without knowing what you were going to get - it turned out to be the special fireworks viewing and a couple of really cool pins).

rumors have it it will be in 2006 via aaa but I don't know details

I am booked through AAA for December. I had my TA call three times to get this for me. Each time she was told that it is only for AAA members booking the silver or gold package. I got the same answer when I called. We booked the Magic Your Way with dining. Oh well, as previous posters said, there are plenty of great places to watch Wishes from.

Our trip was through AAA and when we inquired about this spot our TA called while we were there and told that this area is only for Grand Gatherings through AAA.

OK. We are a family of 10 coming in December. I'm begining to wonder if it was worth doing the grand gathering thing. :confused3 It seemed when I checked that out, it was kind of expensive. I thought I could basically do everything myself. Maybe I should have taken advantage of it! Any thoughts??? :flower:
PS Maybe I should start a new thread on that question?? :cool1:

We were on the silver plan 4/04 & 4/05 & had the preferred viewing through AAA for Illuminations & Wishes. Both time the area was roped off with a CM
taking the vouchers when you entered the area. It was pretty handy when it was crowded. :earsboy:
