We booked for the first time through AAA and got our stuff a few days ago. I noticed that there is a AAA lounge in the MK (in Tomorrowland). I never knew that! :earseek:

Has anyone ever been in there? What's it like? It said you get free sodas :cool1:

I've heard of this. Not to steal your thread but did you have to book thru AAA to use the lounge or is just being AAA members enough to get you in? :confused3

You have to book through AAA because you need a voucher for it. I am not sure if you can just get a voucher from AAA.

Oh dear - now I am hijacking the thread too! Hope you dont mind. Is the AAA lounge open during MVMCP

I have a question for you. What was the time between when you booked and when you got your "stuff"? I booked a few months ago and didn't get anything. I don't want to be a pest and ask my agent for what will amount to a free soda, but at the same time I want it if I'm entitled to it. It's certainly in the description of my package. Did you get it after you paid in full? Because that's the end of this month for me. Did you get anything else besides the voucher to the lounge? Thanks!!

I booked my Oct trip through AAA. I was told that will get all my vouchers/confirms/parking pass/ect..after I have paid in full (approx 45 days before check-in day). My agent said that I should get the info about two weeks before I leave...not sure what takes so long, but they apparently need a month to get everything to you.

You only get one soda voucher/person in package.

I assume that it will be open during MNSSHP and MVMCP, but I can't say for sure.

I have heard that some local offices will give you vouchers if you go and ask for them...but others do not. That depends on your local office. The only way that you can be assured of getting it is by booking a package through them.

Hope that helps!

A nice perk that any AAA member gets is a reserved seat for Wishes. It is by reservation only and offers a good view of the castle. You will need to call your office for more info. I didn't find out about this until we got there and even though we didn't have a reservation, the attendant at the seating area let us in by just showing our AAA card.

I have a picture of the area and a picture of the sign at the entrance if anyone needs it I started a new post showing it.

Wow this sounds great. I will be asking my AAA TA about it next week.
We love the AAA lounge. It was a great spot to cool off and get away from the crowds. A cold drink, a soft chair and Disney movies for the kids.

I wonder if those viewing areas are available during high visitation periods. I know it used to be a policy to have blackout dates for the reserved viewing areas.

Just to make things clear, you get ONE voucher per package (even if you have 10 people on the package). You get to use the voucher ONCE during your trip. If all the people in the package aren't with you when you go to the lounge, they cannot use the lounge.

Tell more about this lounge, please. Where exactly is it? Does it have any really cool amenities? Most importantly, does it have ladies rooms?

My understanding is that you have to have a special Disney vacation package for this perk. JABEAR may have lucked out getting the courtesy. I think normally, it's much harder.

If someone knows the exact details of how to get this perk, I would love to know how you qualify for it. I'd love to take advantage of this and I see my AAA TA on August 17. I'd like more ammunition to get on this very nice perk when I see my agent.

We booked with AAA for our Nov. 2000 trip, and did use our voucher. In Tomorrowland, after you walk past Buzz's ride, turn right towards COP. In the back by the bushes there is a little gate with a tiny sign that says AAA on it. Go through the gate and follow the sidewalk. In the back is the AAA lounge. When you go in, it is blessedly cool!!! They have rest rooms, plenty of couches and comfortable seating. TV on, coloring books and crayons for the kids. typical AAA brochures, etc.. you do sign in when you go in, and they take the voucher. Then the nicest person brought us each a cold soda and invited us to sit and relax. We were there about 15 minutes.

When we left, my DS forgot his hat, and when we realized it, several hours had passed. My DH went back to look, but it was gone. Man took info (name, address, description of hat, etc..) and two weeks after we got home, the hat came in the mail!!! Really one of our better AAA experiences.

On a trip in 2002, I stopped in the lounge to find a hotel room for a night outside of disney, and they were just as nice. We didn't have a voucher, but the man let us sit and rest and use the restrooms while he made our ressie for the next night.

have a great trip!!!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I wasn't on the internet yesterday.

We originally booked Jan. 31 and our trip is Aug. 27-Sept. 4. We made the $200 down payment right away and the balance needed to be paid 45 days out (which was mid July for us). We paid that and then I heard from our AAA TA last week Wednesday (Aug. 3) that our "stuff" was in. I went and picked it up and noticed the AAA lounge info.

My AAA TA has been friendly and sweet, but she doesn't seem to know much about Disney. I had to tell her about the free dining and we were able to get it only because I found out about it. So, I figured instead of asking her more questions, I'd ask all of you ... who know SO much more ;)

As a side note - we also got a really nice "backpack" type Disney bag and an autograph book when I picked up my stuff. Not sure why, but it was nice :sunny:

Thanks for the info! It's nice to know there's a *little* something to look forward to.

I know what you mean about the AAA agents. I only booked with them because I wanted to get the discounted room rate and add the dining, which I couldn't do myself through CRO. I *Definitely* knew more about WDW than my agent. At the end of our meeting, he shook my hand and said "You did your homework!"

Thank youi for the information. I booked through AAA for the convenience, but I've had to ask for everything, mainly things I have read about here, extra. It would have been nice if the TA had mentioned the dining plan, for example.

It looks like everything you needed to know has been expertly answered. I just wanted to add that the lounge also has a water cooler, it is very comfortable, and it is very very cooooooold.....which is great in the summer!
