AAA, Loews card and more

Just thought I would share the lastest information I was just given. AAA is not out for January yet. The rate that I have is a Save the more you stay rate, or something like that. I was told that AAA would most likely not get me a better price but in no way was she stopping me from calling back and asking. I also gave her my Loews number and was told it will apply to one room only (you all told me this). She said to apply for another card in the other adult's name and then call back with the number. She asked me what I wanted for a welcome gift...fruit and water, what paper....local and did I have any other request. I asked if there was a fridge and she said yes and told me it is fully stocked. I said with 5 children I did not want it fully stocked and was told that I can pay $25.00 to have it emptied BUT then I was told there is a key to keep it locked, problem solved. I asked if there was room for meds that need to be kept cold and was told they can provide us with a medical need fridge. I so enjoyed talking with someone who knows her job and enjoys helping someone make their vacation enjoyable!!! My only other big request was a lower floor because I'm afraid of heights and she saw I requested this. Thank you again for all your answers and help so far for my trip!!!`

Glad you had a good experience booking....I remember you asking us questions.... The 'fridge' they can empty is the 'wet bar'.... I saw a pic of it somewhere...but my DSIL told me her daughter once found the key and it cost her $10 for a small bag of gummie bears Needless to say, they keep the key on their person now

Where did you find a discount rate for January? Everything I see on the Universal site is only through the end of 2007.

Where did you find a discount rate for January? Everything I see on the Universal site is only through the end of 2007.

Have you checked the Loews site itself? You can call to book the room and ask if AAA is out yet. When I booked last week, they told me 'not yet, but keep checking back with us' You can always switch your 'rack rate' to 'AAA rate' when it comes out...no big deal...everyone does it. (You might want to reserve that room for Jan. before it's not available)

Ah, I just found it on the Loews site. I didn't think to check there. It's not a discounted rate, just free park tickets. That explains why the rates were coming out the same as normal seasonal rates.
