AAA inside park discount changed

Apparently to receive the AAA discount inside the park, you now must show a AAA Discounts & Rewards Ticket voucher, only obtained when you purchase your Universal tickets from AAA. In researching how to receive a discount the AAA policy states that the card and AAA Discounts & Rewards Ticket must both be shown to receive the 10% off food and merchandise. My local AAA representative wasn't sure but believes this is a ticket that prints up after AAA prints the Universal tickets.

my son is on my AAA card and has his membership based on me adding him.

he is planning another trip to the darkside with his wife in august.
i'll be sure to pass on the info to him that you posted.

it's better to know in advance of the AAA policy change.

Yes, I found a better deal elsewhere, through my employer.

Oh I didn't even realize Amex had 10% off too. I just looked it up. Unfortunately that's one card I don't want to use. Hmm. What other problems might offer 10%...? What could I have overlooked?

I'm hoping by June they will have forgotten that they need the special card.

The AMEX off says: "Must show the American Express offer on the Universal Orlando Mobile Site to receive the food and non-alcoholic beverage discount". Not sure how much they stick to it but thought I'd bring it up.

We have AP s but also Amex cArds. Confused is there discount on the CC website or tied into a package?

I know AMEX used to have a plg with late checkout but didn't see anything when I was digging around on travel section last week

AAA was negotiating with Disney last I heard too this year. No idea if they ever settled on room discounts let alone diamond parking

I will be visiting my local AAA office tomorrow to tie up some loose ends before our trip in to Universal in a couple weeks and will ask about this change. I used my AAA for merchandise in the WWoHP last May without any difficulty.

last May 2014, AAA members could get the discounts as long as they showed their card.
April 2015, last month, posters have reported changes in the system of getting discounts with their AAA cards.

what was valid last year doesn't mean it can't change in the future.

some years back the preferred AP allowed a 15% discount off of food and merch.
it changed the benefit amount while i was in the parks one year down to 10%.

didn't like that, but the new policy for perks was changed and they didn't even call me to ask if i minded......

just saying that programs/policies do change at times and it throws a wrench in our plans.

if you find any info out when you to tomorrow, come back and share please.

Hi,
When I was there 3 weeks ago, I was told that the discount did not work in the WWoHP.
Within US/IoA as a whole, I was told that I needed the voucher indicating that I purchased my admission tickets from AAA.
Also within US/IoA, I was also told that purchases had to be over $50. (That was probably the one time my purchase was < $50 and I might've been able to pull it off. lol)

So I was denied at every attempt, but had tried and tried. So, it's worth the tries, but don't expect it. Have a great trip.
