Wow, it’s costing me $200 more to fly then it would to drive from Maine to Orlando!

Not so sure that I agree with it. It says it would take $61.00 one way for me to drive. It is saying that my car should get about a third more gas milage than it does. I have driven the trip and know to plan on $200 for gas not $125.

I found my estimate to be low also. I put in "other" for model and then put in my mpg that I know I get. Came out much closer....

Driving vs flying cover more costs than just gasoline.

If you are driving there is tolls, food, lodging.

If you are driving there is air fare, parking, rental car or other transportation

Also flying time is a few hours at most while driving may be one to three days on the road. For a one week vacation do you want to spend four days driving and three days is a hotel?
