AAA/Free Dining

You can still book through AAA, but you won't be able to get any room discounts....you take the best deal available..which is free dining! You would still get the PH voucher and any other AAA special gift, but as for any further discounts, no.

No double dipping on discounts as told to me by my TA today @ AAA... :rotfl: I opted to go for the dining plan though as the AAA discount at the Beach Club where we are staying is only $55 less than the rack rate... the dining plan for the 4 of us is $98.... the free dining plan made more sense and will save us an extra $325 over the AAA discount we had originally....

I called my AAA agent this afternoon and asked her to price the deal for me today and that I'd book first thing in the morning once the code was available to non-cardholders.

My quote was $8 less than what I was quoted on the Disney site...not much of a discount, but from what I understand the Disney site is quoting pre-tax amounts and AAA is a final price...taking this into account, it adds up to a little more discount using AAA (this was for a 4 night Value resort reservation with one-day MYW pass).

Did anyone who already had the AAA package have any kind of penalty to change to free dining rather than AAA discount? My friend is being told there is a $100 per room fee.

I had mine changed and I didnt have to pay any extra.
But all they did was give me the free dining. my dates stayed the same.

I checked with AAA this morning and they came back with exactly the same rate that I was quoted on the Disney site. If you ask Disney directly for an AAA rate, will they apply the 20% value season discount?

I changed mine with AAA today. No change fee but we lost the AAA discount on the room. Free dining was still a bigger discount than losing the AAA discount.

I got the room discount plus free dining with AAA

You might want to check your reservation. You can still book through AAA, but you will not have the room discount if you choose free dining - it's one or the other. For some people, the room discount is better than the free dining.

My girlfriend just added free dining onto her ressie with AAA. While she may not be getting a room discount, she is getting some kind of discount because AAA's price for the package was $300 less than if she went thru Disney.

That was my experience too. The quote I got from Disney is $200 more than the price my AAA TA booked for me. And we added a day on the hotel and passes. We ended up saving over $500 off our original package. We also moved from regular to value season so that helped some too.

I had originally booked through AAA for September with the Dining plan. My TA changed the reservation to free dining and we added an extra day (going from 6 nights to 7 nights). With 11 people (8 people are 10+), we saved about $1,300 despite losing the room discount and adding a day.

Needless to say, I am very pleased.

Same here...I had booked with AAA and was getting the dining plan anyway. Today my agent got the free dining plan for me. I lost the AAA discount, but we are saving a little over $200 off of the previous price.

A little off topic, but I'm a Disney Visa cardholder, and I had no idea about this deal until I happened to find it this morning, when it was already offered to the general public. How did cardholders find out about this? Or did they just notify random cardholders? It doesn't even show up on the Special Offers section on the DV website.

I think I got some kind of discount too. I checked prices on the website for 10 days 2 adults 2 kids, 1 day base ticket for POP in a preferred room and was quoted 1505.00 ( I think) my AAA agent got me the same things with free dining for 1277.76

I recieved an email about it on 3/31. Are you registered on the Disney Visa website?

I just called Disney today thinking maybe they'd have a different price than the website, but alas they didn't. I was quoted about 1500 for two adults for 7 nights at POR w/ park hoppers for 6 days... how do you go about booking through AAA? I have a AAA card but don't know how to get to an agent... I'm going to look on their website now.

Quick question about going through AAA though- are there the same cancellation rules as going through Disney? I booked a courtesy reservation through Disney today and can cancel by April 19th without a deposit. Otherwise I have a $200 deposit by then, with the ability to cancel by July 31st.

Is this the same with AAA?? THANKS! :goodvibes

Yeah, if you book through AAA, the cancellation policy is exactly the same. I have heard some people say their AAA office charges a cancellation fee. But I know AAA Mid Atlantic doesn't charge any fees whatsoever. I'm sure other clubs don't either.
