AAA discounts in the parks?

I called a AAA TA, the other day to find out about the special Wishes viewing area (which you may only get if you book through AAA) but the TA told me that I can use my card all over the park in stores and restaurants for discounts.

Does anyone have any experiences where they saved money shopping or eating on property??

Where can I use my card for a discount?? Thanks in advance!!

When we went last year, you could not get a AAA discount in WDW parks. I don't know if this recently changed. The TA may be confusing it with Universal, which does offer AAA discounts in the parks.

I believe the TA was talking about the AAA Diamond Card that they issue with AAA travel packages.

Just as an FYI - we did receive discounts with our AAA card in UNIVERSAL/IOA last year. Nearly all facilities - only a couple of independently owned stands did not give a discount. However, not at Disney.

I just picked up my AAA package info today including my Diamond Cards, but I wasn't informed about a special viewing area. Where is it? The cards do entitle you to discounts at several DTD restaurants as well as All-Star Cafe in Disney's WW of Sports Complex. It also gives discounts on different recreation activities such as Water Mouse rentals and mini-golf. You also receive discounts at some DTD merchants such as World of Disney. The only thing discounted in the parks are some of the behind-the-scenes tours. Hope this helps.

You can use the AAA diamond card at the World of Disney store in downtown Disney and you get 10% off the entire purchase. That was the only place I could use it, that was 2 yrs ago. We also got a voucher to use in the AAA lounge in the MK.

I believe that you can use your AAA card for 15% off at Earl of Sandwhich. We will arrive on Sat. I will post whether it worked upon my return.

I just got off the phone with AAA - finally ordering our triptik for the Drive down in October and asked her what discounts doe we get with AAA. She said that we should get a AAA Diamond parking pass/card - this will need to be shown throughout WDW when looking to get a AAA discount. With this card you should get:

special AAA diamond parking at parks
admission to vip lounge in MK
voucher for free Soft drink in vip lounge
40 page how to guide - theme parks map - also has list of where you can get all your AAA discounts in this guide.
10% off select restaurants - she said too many to list
20% off a couple more select restaurants
Merchandise 10% off at world of disney in dtd off entire purchase
Merchandise 10% off at planet Hollywood, bongoes and couple other specialty stores
Discounts up to 20% off select behind the scenes tours
15% off 1 round of mini golf at 2 mini golf resorts at WDW
discounts for "real" golf
discounts off mini power boat rentals

The guide and all above information should be picked up/received when you get the rest of your package/tickets. All discounts should be outlined in the 40 page book. I have not recv'd the actual book yet as I make my final payment next week!!! It answered my questions and hopefully will help some others out.
