AAA Discount?

I am a long time member of AAA, but I have always planned and booked our WDW trips ourselves (with one exception). Anyway, to get the AAA discount, do I call WDW and book it and give them my AAA card (like I would a regular hotel) or do I go to AAA and let their TAs book it for me?

How much of a discount do you usually get with AAA?

If I get a MYW with dining plan, do I get a AAA discount on all parts of it, or just the room? :confused3

THANKS! :sunny:

I booked a room through Disney, and told the CRO that I wanted the AAA discounted rate. She applied the rate and told me to bring the AAA card with me at check in. I was surprised that she didn't ask for the number ahead of time. I can't remember the exact percentage of the discount, but I think maybe 20%.

Before the new discount codes were released, I checked rates through TA with AAA discount at WL, courtyard view, and was quoted $301 per night. Unless courtyard view rooms have gone way up in price recently, this isn't much of a discount. Since then, we have decided to stay at POR and book the room ourselves. TA's are helpful only if you don't want the hassle of planning your own trip. Otherwise, it is cheaper to do it yourself with whatever discounts are available. We trimmed about $400 doing it ourselves. Tell the CRO you want a AAA discount and he/she will apply it. You will have to show your member card at check-in. Good luck! :goodvibes

We are staying at POR with an AAA rate. We are saving about $150. We booked it ourselves through Disney.

Only a AAA agent can book the MYW w/ Dining, and the discount is only on the room portion.

Off of Mousesavers:
During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Peak Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.
The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas).

Here's the link for the seasons:
