AAA Discount

Has anyone gotten a reservation in 2015 with a AAA discount, or are the discounts 'history' now?

I've never used my AAA membership except for FW discounts, which have more than paid the dues, so will cancel it if they are no longer in partnership with Disney (discounts).

on the podcast last Tuesday Pete said he thinks AAA and Disney are stopping their relationship. If I remember correctly, John said that the TAs were being told by Disney that there would be no AAA discounts in 2015.

I have a reservation for Jan 2015 but I had not started trying to get an AAA discount applied to it. Now I won't bother.

For short stays of a few days, a discount was not a big deal or not. But in the last few years they jacked the Preferred site prices to within a few dollars of Premiums so the AAA discount was helpful the few times staying at those levels. With my popup, I'm happy stepping down and staying in a Tent/Partial site.

If AAA discounts remain eliminated, what's left for campsites? That leaves very few discounts available for the sites (some of the off-season room discount offers Disney puts out from time to time include campsites). But none were as widely used/available as AAA.

Personally I've also used the stay-one-night-close-to-the-Fort and arrive in the early morning hours and will again. And as ya'll say they only offer discounts if they need to fill the rooms/sites; so I guess the Disney resorts are "full enough" without the AAA relationship and discount.

Whatever. :confused3

The ONLY reason I have AAA is for my Disney discounts. I buy park tickets with them too.

Bummer. Bye, bye AAA.

Does anyone know if AAA discounts are still available for the remainder of this year?

We would like to camp for 5 nights in early/mid December but I am not able to get a AAA discount for this timeframe.

Is there any likelihood that a AAA discount will still come available for that time period in the coming months?

1) The program is still available at WDW & The Fort for 2014.
2) BUT, there might not be available sites for your dates.
3) You just need to call and inquire.

Good luck on even getting a ressie, let alone a AAA discount. :headache: I tried for quite awhile to get Preferred site, but nothing was available. Finally got something for October (no AAA discounts left), but am going to cancel it, as that's not really when we wanted to go.

When I called last week (and when I check online) there were campsites available in all categories. We're looking at a Sunday to Friday stay so that helps.

My issue is getting a discount. I asked about a AAA discount but was told there were none available.
Does that mean that there won't be ANY available between now and when we want to camp in December? or if I keep calling is there any chance of a AAA discount becoming available?
I don't want to keep calling Disney reservations and asking for a discount if they are not going to be available.
I don't know how the discount program works. Is there a certain number available for a certain time and once they are all spoken for that's all there is? if so, do they come back available if someone who has one cancels a reservation?

We got AAA discount 2 days before check-in. Keep trying.

Is there an advantage to calling one reservation phone number over the others?

I see a phone number for "Central Reservations" at 407-934-7639

and another for "WDW Reservations" at 407-939-1936

and then another number for reservations at 407-939-1896.

Is one better than the others?

Golfgnut, only once was I able to get a discount after continually checking. It 'can' happen, but only if someone cancels that has one on your dates. They do not add additional ones. CM told me there's only a 'very' few in my category anyway. :(

We stay at least 10 days when we go, that's why there was not availability on our dates first part of Dec. That was 2 months ago. I had enough of 'checking back', and we're through for this year.

Hope you have better luck!! pixiedust:

Not sure about the tel. #'s - if one is better - seems to all go to the same old question process. That's why it's so frustrating to keep checking.

North of Mouse; Thanks for the response.

Yeah, repeatedly checking back is a pain. Getting through all the phone prompts is a feat in itself.

And then there is the question "Are you celebrating anything during this trip"?
Not sure why they ask that. I thought I knew why they ask but on our last two trips we were celebrating an event, and I told them that when making the reservation, but nobody said anything to us onsite nor did we receive a card or any acknowledgement of it during our stay. Must be a marketing thing.

Yeah, that's left over from a Year of Celebrations... Or something. In past years they had much better marketing themes (a Year of a Million Dreams, anyone?). But this one's lame and they haven't come up with anything new in too long.

My AAA Girl said Disney is ending their relationship with them in 2015. This really stinks. She got all my reservations for me. It was great! :thumbsup2 I always got my tickets through them too at a comparable rate. I ao. m sure AAA put plenty of people on the hotels to. I wonder if there is anything we can do?:confused3
