AAA Discount with Non-AAA Travel Agent/RO Discounts/Room Assignments

Three questions from a newbie:

1) It is possible to use your AAA discount when booking through another agency? The only discount I have now is AAA, and unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to monitor the release dates for discounts or be on the phone all day trying to get a better deal applied (despite the fact that I'm pretty OCD about that stuff--so if I'm delegating I have to know they will do their job).

I've heard that Small World Travel and Dreams Unlimited do this for you? So any experience using them and the AAA discount (just in case others never materialize?)

Or any possible experiences with AAA that might make it worth using them? Honestly, I don't even know what the current discounts might be and if it really is worth it.

2) If Disney releases a RO discount, can I use it for the room portion of a package? Or is it really only for people who have only booked rooms and bought tickets elsewhere (such as through Undercover Tourist)?

3) Do I have a better chance of my room request being honored if I book directly through Disney?

Any agent can book a AAA room discount.

2. You can apply a room rate discount to the room portion of a package as long as your resort/room category is included in the discount and there is availability. You can only apply one discount so if you have any other discount on the package (e.g. Free Dining) you would have to do the math to determine which one is the best for you.

3. As far as I can tell, it doesn't make a difference. The room assigners probably don't know how you booked the room.

A non-AAA agent can only book a room-only reservation at the AAA rate.
They can not add dining to this and make it a package.

Room assignors really don't know, or care, how it was booked as long as you have a Disney reservation number.
