Does anyone know what the discount is on WDW Park tickets thru AAA. I am thinking about becoming a member if it is a good discount.
TIA :goodvibes

I believe we saved about $9 per person for a 4 day pass w/ hoppers last time.
The only inconvenience is you have to exchange your tickets at the ticket booth at Dis.
If you call AAA, they will send you a schedule showing the discount off regular pricing.:thumbsup2

5 day park hopper $319 adult, $281 child. $11.16 savings adult/$10.83 savings child.:goodvibes

So do you think it would be worth it? There are 1 adult 2 children. We would have to purchase the AAA membership.

In my area, it cost about $60 for the basic membership and about $100 for the primary.

If you were buying it soley to get a discount on your tickets, then it's probably not a good deal.

Remeber though, you can also get a AAA room only rate through Disney, but you can book a whole package through your local AAA office. We did this for our upcoming trip and saved over $600 for the whole thing. That was apples to apples comparing Disney to Magical Journeys to AAA.

For us, that trip alone was worth the membership, not even counting the discount we are getting at Universal, plus discounted tickets to Sea World, Busch Gardens, and the Kennedy Space Center, all of which we are using on that same upcoming trip.

Oh, and the time we had to get the car towed, and it was free.

for us the tickets were cheaper through orlandoattractions.com than our AAA office

I personally do not have AAA (however, I think we may get it). With our last trip in Dec my SIL did all the booking for us (we all went together) and they have AAA. She orig. just called CBR and booked our rooms directly through them. She then called AAA and booked our rooms and our hopper passes through them and saved each family about $500!!!!!!!:scared1: This was for 5nights. I believe she told me they pay about $100 a year for their membership? In our case it was well worth it!!!!

The tickets are sometimes cheaper through the discount places, but when we looked the prices did not include tax and there was an additional shipping charge.

The AAA prices are complete cost.

This confuses me. According to my AAA agent, there is no AAA discount on Disney Park Tickets. There is a discount on Disney hotel accomodations and (possibly) the Disney Dining Plan as part of a MYW package, but park tickets are the same price as buying them online from Disney. Is my AAA agent scamming me or something?

That's funny because my AAA travel agent told me that there is no discount on the dining plan, only hotel and tickets.

I do know that she told me that for the any of the tickets that we bought, we actually had to go to the AAA travel location to get the tickets. We could not order them and have them shipped. We actually couldn't even get the KSS tickets, we had to have a family member in Florida who is also a AAA member, go to a local branch to pick them up.

We belong to the AAA South group. They have discounts on tickets though not huge. Tickets can be purchased at a branch or on line. Probably you have to be logged on with your membership # to order on line. We are probably getting 7 day no exp passes to split between two trips - for 2 adults and 3 kids we'll save almost $60. And if I remember correctly you can return the tickets unused if your plans change. I want to say last time we went we got the plastic cards at AAA and did not have to do anything at the ticket window - they were the real tix we got from AAA. Maybe every region is a little different, though.

For me the big reason to join AAA is hotel discounts. A lot of places do actually check your ID. I am saving at least $20 per night on our POR room in May and in October. And we travel to other places besides WDW and stay in hotels. Every year our hotel discounts prtty much pay for our membership - it just takes a few nights.

We booked a room only at CR using an AAA discount through Disney. We are debating if we want to change to a package so I added what the cost of tickets and DP would be and than e-mailed AAA for a package quote and it came out to be the exact same number. So I would say AAA only gives a discount on the room portion only and not tickets or DP.

DH & I have AAA (South) and got a fantastic rate on our Florida Resident's AP's. I had actually purchased the voucher last year prior to the rate increase so it was perfect. When we went on vacation in September we just turned those vouchers in a Guest Relations at AK and got the AP's that we actually use now. So effortless it was great!!!

Love the AAA features - plus the discounts at all the hotels around the US, stores all over the country and many, many other discounts you can use. Plus with a DD in college it seems to pay for itself with the transportion & flat tire fixing, etc. :goodvibes

We paid 209.50 + tax each for adult 5 day tickets. But Im totally confused about the "exchange" deal. We got credit card like tickets--a Goofy and a Minnie--used them in the parks, and DW kept them as a souvenier.

Just the Disney ticket discount is probably not enough--but you get discounts on many other tickets, some in advance and some at the gate. You also get discounts at many hotels. I always book hotels through the AAA website. Also you never know when you might need the road service.

We booked with AAA 2 adults 1 child 6 nights 7 days at POP for 1900.00. About 300.00 cheaper that disney or other sites. We have had some nice perks

1) They will make dining reservations for us; our TA basically could guarantee what we wanted
2) we get a mini-golf voucher and a discount card for shopping (i am sure other places offer these)
3) We have gotten some gifts left at our house from AAA (a large beach disney beach print was one)
4)AAA diamond parking, this is our first trip since '97, not sure of AAA diamond parking is special
5) The character story telling time sounds real nice.

I will always be a member of AAA get other great travel offers and my wife will lock her keys in the car at least 1 time a year. AAA is worth it for the peace of mind.

 We love our AAA membership. We've been members for about six years now. We have our home and auto insurance through them. So, they are not only valuable for hotel/ticket discounts. We've saved lots of moolah over the years with our hotel stays too. Also, when we rebooked onboard our Disney cruise, we got the Disney onboard credits, 10% Disney discount AND AAA onboard credits when we transferred our cruise from DCL over to AAA. Lots of savings and onboard credits were waiting for us on our last Disney cruise. Can you say massage. ;)

I came out of the store one time with a flat tire. We lived in a new community with lots of construction meaning lots of stray nails in the road. I was 8 months pregnant with two kids with me in the heat of summer (IN TEXAS!). So, there was no way I was changing the flat. AAA had someone there within FIVE MINUTES. I was pretty impressed. So, we are great fans of their roadside service too. We take lots of roadtrips. It gives us comfort in knowing that if we have a flat, need gas or a tow that AAA is just a phone call away.

Living in Texas, I heard rumors that my local AAA store/office doesn't offer the discounted Disney tickets anymore unless you purchase a whole package (hotel/tickets). Does anyone know if this is true? I need to look into that for our upcoming September trip. DS2 turns 3 in August. So, this will be the first trip he needs a ticket. The rest of the family has APs.

I'm an AAA member because we own three older cars and I like the Emergency Road Service for my DW and family. I can change a tire, but I don't want her doing it on the side of a highway. Most new cars come with Roadside Assistance so AAA isn't necessary for a few years if you have a car that comes with it.

We drive to WDW and usually use AAA for a discount at whatever hotel/motel we stay at (we split our drive from Northern Illinois into two days). We're not sure where we're going to end up (traffic/construction) so it's nice to just flash the AAA card for the discount.

This year we figured out all of our options for a 7 night WDW vacation. After all was said and done, the best deal for us was to book room only at the CSR with the AAA discount rate and then we bought our Park Hopper tickets from www.floridaorlandotickets.net - they had the best prices out of anyone.

Good luck!pirate:

Since we're ong hte topic of AAA..I just wanted to give big "ups" to them because so far I've been very satisfied, and I haven't been a member for a month yet. I will save 20% on my resort, 5% on tickets, and today, my husband saved 35% on his prescriptions at Walgreens!!!!:rotfl:

What AAA did you get YOUR tickets at???? We got tickets at AAA in October 2007 and they were the actual tickets, ready to use in the turnstiles.

The only tickets I have ever gotten where I had to exchange anything was when we got APs and had a voucher to exchange for the actual ticket.

We bought only Disney tickets and Silver Springs tickets at the AAA office. Both were discounted tickets. SS had free parking too. I did reserve the hotel through the AAA website, but they had no idea I had done that at the office.
