AAA Discount on Campsites?

We are going to Disney in October and are staying at Fort Wilderness. We are members of AAA and I think I read somewhere that we might be able to get a discount with our AAA membership. Is this correct? If so, do I have to use a AAA travel agent to get the discount? Do I have to book a package, or can I do a "room only" and get the discount? Thanks!!!

You can get a AAA discount, if available, on a room/site only reservation and you can get it with Disney directly.

You can book through Disney by phone and get the AAA discount on site only stays. If it's not available at the time, keep trying right up until arrival. Good luck.

We got the AAA discount for our October trip. We just asked for it when we called. They only allow a certain amount of discount "rooms" so the earlier you book the better.

You can do all of the above. If you just want a room only, you can call Disney's central reverations and book on the phone, ask for the AAA discount if one is available for your stay. Last year in September ,I got 20% on a premium site. That's about as good as it get's for discounts at the Fort.

Not only did we get the AAA discount on our site (booked back in October for June) but I just bought our park tix from them and ended up getting them at $112 less than gate price. This was for 4 adult Premium Annual passes. These discounts have more than paid for our membership.

Okay so a AAA membership gives a discount on Annual Passes too? We are thinking about getting AP's on our trip down in June. How did you go about getting the tickets is it through AAA or Disney Reservations?

I was disappointed because I couldn't book until January for our June trip and the only AAA discount I could get was a partial hookup. I took it because it still saved me $200. A discount of some kind is better than no discount.

The Premium AP gate price (with tax) is $669.89. The AAA price with my local tax is $642.35. This is a savings of $27.54 per ticket. We got four so the total savings was $110.16, so I was a little off. Sorry

Thanks for the new information. I found out AAA charges TN state sales tax which is 9.25% but if you buy it in FL you pay more like 6.5%. I was also just looking at the Regular AP. Either way it is a better deal.

Does anyone know what other good discounts you get with AAA (i.e. dining, shopping, etc.)?

When we booked our vacation package through AAA we got the AAA preferred parking pass (that lets you park closer to the gate), lanyards to our KTW, Hollywood Studios coupons and a AAA coupon booklet. We book directly through AAA to get all of these goodies. If you have a really great rep, they throw in extras that they have lying around the office such as pins, plushes and more. AAA is the way to go!
