I don't know if it is too late to get this or not. Now that AP rules/rates have changed, I won't be getting one. Is the AAA discount in Oct. (reg. season) for the Poly only 10%? Is the discount off the room rate before tax or after? 10% on the room rate before tax only ends up to save us $118 (which is better than nothing I guess) after I factor in the cost of the AAA membership (we don't have it yet). Can I get that anytime or are there limited rooms available with the discount? TIA for any info!!

I will look up my information for our October stay but I will warn you, call ASAP! I called to get information for the rates last Monday and did not reserve the room. At the time, they had AAA rates for all 6 nights. I called on Wednesday to reserve the room and was only able to get the AAA rate for 2 of our 6 nights at the Polynesian.

If you call Disney, ask for the AAA discount rate. They will be able to tell you if the rate is available and what it will be. You do not need the actual AAA membership number until you book the room (when you book it they ask for your membership information). If you decide to go this route, get your membership and your number right away so you do not loose out on the rate like we did.

Good Luck!

When are you going if you don't mind my asking? We'll be there the 19-24th.

We will be at the Polynesian from the 14th - 19th. We have booked a LVC room for the first 4 nights (without a AAA discount - hoping some discount comes out soon) and the a GV room (not concierge) for the last 2 nights (AAA discount for these nights).

I am so upset about paying rack rates and hope that some discount will come out for later in October. We will even consider season passes if it would give us a good discount.

Good Luck!

How much is an AAA membership? Does it vary by state?

I don't know if it varies by state or not, but here in Minnesota it is $59.95 per year for the basic membership.

I called this morning to check on rates and they were available for our entire stay!! The CM went ahead and booked them for me without the AAA#. She said I just needed to present the card at check-in!! :cool1: Minus the cost of the membership we ended up saving $140, which isn't alot but it's better than paying rack!!!
Still hoping for some general codes though!! ;)

Remember AAA’s discounted room rates at Disney is just another perk. We been AAA members since 2002 and I have no idea how we did before, number one you can get discounts at lots of your local stores, restaurants, video rentals, local amusement attractions, etc, etc. You also get something called TripTix, which is are detailed instruction to get you from point A to point B which AAA office will mail to your home free of charge. Of course the biggest reason to call is the roadside assistance. Keep in mind just one tow will pay for your yearly membership.

Anyone staying at the Poly Nov 5 -12? What's your rate? Any special discount?

Yes, I had forgotten about AAA discounts at other places. I was a member about 10 years ago. Love the TripTix too. I still have a bunch of those maps I got back then!! I guess the reason we haven't gotten them before is that we have the GM roadside assistance with both of our cars plus OnStar so we never worry about tows or flat tires.

I actually got the AAA rate for 10/13-15 and I am paying $354.00 per night after all taxes.... Still feels pretty steep but it IS better than nothing. :confused3 I am still looking for possible better AP rates.... Here's to hoping! :drinking1
