Hi all. I just booked a campsite at Ft. Wilderness Campground for March 2003. We booked through AAA, however it gave me the rack rate of $73.00 for a preferred site which is what is showing on the Disney official website. I booked anyway and figured I could always cancel or change how I booked but I just wanted to be sure we had a "preferred site" booked. My question is, shouldn't the rate have been cheaper since it was through AAA (and yes, we were logged into our AAA account when we booked). Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you call CRO and find out the AAA rates for a preferred campsite through them????

I hate to sound ignorant, but what is CRO? (Can you tell we are new at all this?)

Update: I just called Disney directly and asked to speak with a "CRO" person and the girl that answered said she could help me (?) and I explained about booking through AAA website and it gave me a rack rate, so I gave her or AAA membership # and she said she had a discounted rate of $65.70 (rather than the rack rate we got from AAA of $73.00) which is a 10% savings. My question is, was I speaking with CRO or should I try again to see if I can get the 15% discount I hear a lot about or is the 10% probably what is available (no complaints on 10% I'm just wondering.... obviously if we can get the 15% we will try for it). We will be staying our Coleman Grandview and I requested the preferred site loop of 200 (near all the "activity"). Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.:bounce:

CRO stands for Central Reservations Office. When you call Disney at the 407-W-Disney number, you are calling CRO. The percentage discount you receive depends on the time of year you are going. The discount is usually between 10% and 20% depending on the season and the resort. The higher discounts are offered during value season and the lowest discounts are offered during peak season. March is considered peak season at WDW. So 10% is the best you can do right now.
