AAA Discount Christmas week?

I know very little about the AAA discounts. Has anyone gotten a discount for Christmas week or are these blackout dates?

Bumping this up for you, hopefully a AAA member will answer - sorry I'm not sure about AAA myself, but mousesavers says:

The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas) at the Value and Moderate resorts.

Maybe a AAA member will verify if this still goes?

Friends of ours have a reservation at the GF beginning December 18 and going through to December 30, and they have the AAA discount, which is, I think, 15% at that time. 2 adults, 2 children in a gardenview room for $319/nt + tax. Not bad!

Generally speaking -- from December 22nd to January 1st.. there is no AAA discount.

I won't argue with Doogie's friends.. But I believe that they is highly unusual. I wouldn't expect that to happen without lots of preplanning and arriving before December 22nd.

I think CanadianGuy is right about the arrival date. If you arrive earlier than December 22, you might be able to get the AAA discount for your entire stay. A few years ago, we stayed at the GF, arrived around the middle of December, stayed for two weeks, and got the AAA discount for our entire stay. It all depends on your arrival date! Phone CRO and give your dates and you might be lucky and get the discount.
