Anybody use AAA to get discounts on room rates at moderate resorts or packages? If yes, was the discount significant? Thanks

The savings before the code that came out in the beginning of Oct was roughly 580.00, with an additional 247.00 when YQE came out. We are staying at CBR, 2 rooms Dec 16-23 '05. You can always call AAA and get a quote for your timeframe and resort..they were able to give me a quote and then I transfered my package from CRO to AAA. HTH

20% discount on values and moderates during value season
15% off deluxes during value season

15% off values and moderates during regular and peak season
10% off deluxes during regular and peak season.

I am saving about $30 a night per room in May, 2 rooms, 6 nights = $360 savings! Definitely worth it for us.

This is also a good option if you have a larger group and don't want to buy
the same ticket for everyone - if you book a "package" all members in a room (or under one reservation) must have the same ticket options. If traveling with grandma (as we are) and small kids, you may want options for adults but not kids and grandma.... savings goes further.

for POFQ was $149 and we paid $123 with the AAA discount. It saved us almost $200 but other savings were at Universal where our AAA card got us 10% off at resturants, gift shops, etc!

There was a promotion that came out in the late Sept/early Oct. for MYW + dining. If you are planning on getting a quote with AAA mention it. I don't remember what the code was for the MYW without dining/ room only, but I am sure that you can look on the Discount pages here at Dis or search other threads. There were a certain number of rooms that were available using the special. It was thru the 24 or 25th of December with a few blackout dates. Not sure when you are going but getting a quote doesn't lock you in to anything if you are still deciding. BTW, I booked the package in July and so it was applied to my existing reservation. HTH

AAA is great for savings and from what I am seeing on other threads it looks like 2006 will offer a few extra benefits to AAA packages (like a planet hollywood voucher) that I don't think we will be getting. However, I would recommend if you decided to go with them you make your own ADR's, especially if you are interested in CRT. AAA did not mention to me that they were not open on weekends and my 90 days fell on a Sat. So in the end it was worth it to me to not let them do any of the extra reservations. I just stuck with the package stuff. There is a AAA rep that comes highly recommended on these boards that you might speak too. I did not use her this time but I plan on trying to next time.

I hope I helped a little. This is our first trip too and I am still learning. Hopefully by the next trip it will be easier!

Hey loles : When did you book for May? I just did through MJ supposedly with a AAA discount. I was quoted $730 for 5 nights. That doesn't sound like a discount to me. Did you book through AAA directly? I was told I didn't have to to get the AAA discount. Please give me any info you have!!!! Thanks! :confused3

I saved $222.00 for a package deal with meals for 5 people at POR for february 15-22. I am hoping disney will come out with a code so we can save even more. I have my fingers crossed.

Also I expect to save more using my card at DTD where some places give discounts for having the AAA card.
