I already have a 20% discount at Kidani for March 1-8 through AAA. If better room only discounts come out with a black out starting on March 3 as the pin had, would I be able to apply the discount if it was more to my first two nights and keep my AAA for the remainder? Or, would I have to book two separate reservations to do this? Thanks!

You would need to book 2 separate reservations.

In our case, our dates are Jan 16-21 and it is looking likely that the RO discount blackout dates will be the three nights in the middle. Would we really have to make three separate reservations to be able to take advantage of AAA the first and last nights of our stay? What is the likelihood that we would be able to remain in the same room over our entire 5-night stay?

Hmmm... It goes by check in. If you're checking in on a day it's offered I believe that it just wouldn't apply to those few days and would restart because its on the reservation itself.

Everything goes by check in. That's the magic date. If you want a discount on all portions of the trip when the RO isn't offered it sounds like you would have to split it 3x. The chances of keeping you in the room? Pretty good. But not guaranteed. They'll definitely do their best. OR it could be an opportunity for a split stay!

Thanks for the information. You would think that after almost 13 years on the DIS, I would know this stuff- the complexity of WDW reservations never ceases to amaze me! :headache:

Given that we want to take advantage of a room discount every night, we will probably have to make three different reservations (assuming the AAA discount is even offered over MLK weekend). We are considering a split, but it would really only be beneficial if we split for just the last night since that is when it switches over to the discount again. Maybe one final magical night someplace really nice? We'll see..

We are definitely staying in a deluxe (were planning on GF or CR Tower, but may have to downgrade to WL/AKL/Swan/Dolphin now). I saw you post in another thread that the S/P/D offer extends throughout your stay if you check in on a day that the discount applies (in our case, Jan 16th). Given that we will be four adults staying together, maybe I should look into this further. Have never considered it before since the RO usually ends up being a better discount with the deluxes. Thoughts? Can S/P/D be used if you're staying at the Swan/Dolphin? A bit reticent to stay there since I'm not convinced that the Magic Bands and FP+ will apply to non-Disney onsite resorts by January.

Appreciate any feedback DISers may have to offer since we have always just done RO and bought tickets separately. If we buy tickets through UT this year, will we be able to set up FP+ in advance? Not sure how we get the tickets to link to the Disney website in advance if not purchased through Disney.

Just have to crunch the numbers, I guess! :teacher:

If you are considering a DP I would definitely look into into the SPD deal with 4 adults. Like free dining, it would extend throughout your stay if you check in on a day it's offered so that would also help with the multiple reservation problem. S&D are not eligible for RO or SPD.

If you do tickets through UT you can link them to MDE on the website and you'd still be eligible for FP+. I think you can choose those at 60 days out so by that time we'll have a lot more experience with how it all will play out for everyone!
