We just joined AAA and was wondering can you get the AAA discount and free dining? We already have our reservations for Sept 18-24 but was curious to see if we could save some extra $$$.

TIA!

We had hoped to do this too, but as the prvious posted said it's an either or option. For us free dining was better than the AAA disocunt.

Sadly, it is true! No AAA discounct with the free dp. However, I did book a trip with the free dp through AAA yesterday and when I went to the disney site just to see if the price matched, mine was $50 less through AAA. Must be some unseen fee I would pay if I had booked with Disney.

What about other AAA benefits? Can you book w/ AAA, get free DDP and other AAA benefits - like savings on tickets? I'm not asking about AAA benefits on the ROOM, but other benefits. I understand that if I book through AAA I need to chose b/w the free DDP OR AAA room discount. I can't get both, but what about other AAA benefits?

No, if you take the free dining plan, you pay disney's rate on the whole package including dining. The only thing you will get extra is the story telling experience, the AAA parking lot pass, and the diamond discount card.

I recall that during last years free dining promotion, some people stated that they were able to get the AAA discount on the dining package by booking with a AAA travel agent. Do you think this has changed? I didn't personally do this, but I remember reading numerous threads on this last year.

I'm not sure if this was the case last year, but I have spoken to 2 AAA agents who tell me it is the case this year. I priced it out and it is definitely a better deal just to go with Disney's rate with the free dining.

Is it possible to get some sort of AAA discount on the MNSSHP tickets since they must be purchased seperately? Is it possible to get any sort of discount on this? I'm looking at almost 300 dollars for me, my DH, and 4 kids and I'm wondering if it is worth it.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I booked our trip (12/19 - 12/22 at the Contemporary) through AAA travel and got both the discounted room rate and the Disney Dining Plan. I originally booked a room directly with WDW only using our AAA discount and was told I couldn't get the Dining plan unless I paid the rack rate. However, the CM offered the helpful hint that I may be able to get both using AAA travel. I booked 3 nights, park passes and the DDP and saved about $100 over booking directly. Actual savings will probably be more though because I am sure we would have paid more for food than our DDP will cost.

Hope this is helpful!

You can get a AAA discounted hotel room and pay for dining if you book through a AAA TA.

Free dining requires a rack rate hotel room, no double discounts. The AAA rate should be the same as booking directly through Disney. Disney will normally automatically add, and charge for, travel insurance. A good TA will ask. Some AAA TAs add on an extra booking charge, change fee or cancellation fees. Many (most?) have the same terms as Disney.

No one was able to get FREE dining + AAA room discount on the package. A few thought they had, but it turns out that it was just the difference in value vs. regular season.

AAA members can get PAID dining + AAA room discount, but they have to book with AAA to get it. CRO can only book AAA discounts on room-only reservations.

The package worked the same way last year. It's kind of like double dipping. What you want to do is price it both ways. Sometimes it is worth giving up the AAA room discount and going on the dine package, sometimes not. Again have them price it both ways for you....

There are no discounts on MNSSHP at all, as a past CM even we did not get discounts on these tickets or the Christmas Party tickets. They both always sell out so I guess they figure why discount them...
