AAA discount and dining plan?

Ok, so we booked through Disney, since AAA was no cheaper. Now, if/when the release discount rates (aaa discount) for September, can I call disney and get those rates, and also get the meal plan? Has anyone done this? I asked a CM the first time and was told yes, then another time told no...that in order to get the dining plan included, I had to pay rack rates on the room. So I'm looking for personal experiences.

If you want both the AAA discount and the dining plan, you have to book directly with a AAA agency.

Normally, you do have to pay rack rate when adding on the dining plan - UNLESS a special package discount comes out: then you can call Disney and see if you can apply the code to your reservation. Sometimes resorts/room types will not be available at a discount.

I agree with Betsy. You must go through AAA directly to get both the AAA discount with the DDP. That is what I did. But I ended up going with a better (nonAAA) deal in the end, so could have saved myself the membership fee...oh well!
