AAA Diamond Parking Pass

Not true. It may be so in you area, but each state AAA has different rules and such (i.e. AAA Texas doesn't sell discount Disney tickets as of right now, just packages, and also the Diamond Pass is only obtainable with a package in AAA Texas). So check with your office before trying to obtain one.

No...it was quite true, for North Carolina. But as you and others have pointed out, it varies by state.

I have gotten the pass just by buying the park tickets through them. I already had a room booked thru Disney. Have not tried just asking for one, so I don't know about that. It you book thru AAA you also get some other "perks" like discounts at some stores etc. It you are a member then it is worth it. What I try to do is have all my research done before I book thru them and then I just tell them what I want to do. Hope that helps.

Our office just gives them if you ask for one. You don't have to purchase package with them, just to be a member. By the way this is CAA

I'm in Maryland, and my local office just gives the pass if you go in and show your membership card. I have done this three years in a row. They even ask if you need an Orlando driving map to go along with it. :goodvibes

We purchased one off of Ebay for our trip in May. We did rope drop every morning and yeah, regular parking is actually closer if you're there that early. One day we left and came back to the parks later and then it came in handy but that was it. The nice thing was reselling it when we got home to get our money back. Next time my MIL is coming along and she's a AAA member so I think we'll take advantage of the pass again.

Nice job!

It's people like you that make Disney eventually remove these extras for those of us that actually follow the rules.

Thanks for using something in a way expressly forbidden by the rules listed on the item itself!:rotfl2:

Hopefully beginning next year Disney will only print the passes with dates on them like my pass for this trip. That will solve the problem. I suspect that's what will be happening.

I should have added, is it worth it to purchase on on e-bay? I was looking and it seems that the sellers make it a point to say that it is not signed and not a color copy. I read the feed back and people say they haven't had problems.

We always buy ours off eBay and have never had an issue. Well worth the few dollars we paid for it. :thumbsup2

I guess in all the excitement you missed the words "NON TRANSFERABLE" printed right there on that pass, huh? :sad2:

They didn't have a picture of the pass when I purchased it so no, I did not see that nor know it BUT obviously I'm not the only one who has done it. Do I think Disney is going to go bankrupt because I purchased a simple parking pass (which we used one day out of the 6 that we were there)? NO! :lmao:

This isn't about money. Disney doesn't make or lose money from this (AAA does, perhaps -- you could reasonably ask whether AAA will go bankrupt if too many people do this) any more than they do from Fast Passes.

Suppose you could photocopy fast passes and sell them on Ebay for use at a future date. The whole FP system would break. What you're talking about is similar.

If a couple of people do it hush hush without discussing it, then while it is still wrong, the system doesn't break, but if it becomes a big thing for everyone to do, then bye bye.

OK wasn't going to chime in until I read this. While you didn't see the "Void if Sold" when you bought it, you did when you sold it.

Also no Disney is not out any money but AAA is if they require a package purchase or even just a membership. Also if the abuse continues they may just end the perk.

Sorry if it bugs you but I really don't care. It doesn't bother me one bit. I did it and I would do it again. Bottom line. Have a great day

Glad to know that even though you KNOW it's wrong, you'll do it anyway.

What a magical moral compass you have there :sad2:

Will you be taking an old refillable mug, renting ECVs for everyone in your party, and using the companion restroom to get dressed for a meal at CRT as well?

Ok, so your previous excuse of "I didn't know its wrong" is replaced by "Now that I do know its wrong, I would still do it again." Very classy. :sad2:

I'm sure AAA members who acquired their parking passes legitimately will be thrilled when they cannot find a spot because you're already there with you fraudulent pass.

Getting back on topic: can someone explain exactly how the passes work? I am considering getting my reservations through AAA so that I can get the pass.

If I do, and I have the pass in hand or on my dashboard or whatever when I go through the gates, then what? How do I know which way to go instead of following the car in front of me? Is there a parking lot attendant who will direct me, and let me know if the AAA area is already full?

My tentative plans put us at the Polynesian. If I want to get to the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios right when things open, is it better to drive (with or without a AAA pass -- does it matter if I have one) or to take the bus? For Magic Kingdom and Epcot I'm assuming I will take boats or monorails and dispense with the car entirely.

Thanks!

No, you're just cheating and defrauding AAA. It's both unethical and illegal. :confused3

You're no better than someone who walks into a store and takes something he wants without paying for it, and then laughs about it after. You've committed a crime.

Follow the X-colored line! Show your pass to the gate attendant and he'll say, "Follow the blue line"...(or whichever color, I think there's some crossover), and it'll take you to the correct lot.

I wouldn't even bother with the pass if you plan to be there at rope drop. You'll get to park close enough to where it won't pay having the pass. Even that early, most times there aren't any attendants out... we had to figure it out on our own where the parking was. The attendants don't even look at your pass.

Sorry if I upset anyone. Not my intentions at all.
