AAA Diamond parking pass questions

I have been a AAA member for as long as I remember but I just found out about the diamond parking pass perk. We have decided to rent a car for our entire trip and it would be nice to have this for some extra pixie dust. We have a land/sea package booked and paid for through a DIS TA member and DVC points bought from a DIS member for some extra days at OKW. What do you have to do to get a parking pass from AAA? I don't need park passes as they are included in the land/sea and I have one night at POP booked and paid directly through Disney with a AAA discount. I will be needing a rental car but I am using codes and a coupon for that. Airfare was bought on priceline.

Would buying the room from AAA for our one night at POP Century qualify for the pass or renting a car through AAA? How good is disney at refunding a room deposit?

Does anyone have one they no longer need and would be willing to pass it on?

Call your AAA and ask if they have one. Sometimes you get lucky that way!
If not, see what it would take. I got mine for just purchasing hopper passes, but have gotten in the past just by asking.

If you cancel your room with Disney the credit usually comes pretty quickly. If you put on cc they say next billing cycle to show up.

I believe the AAA diamond passes are only given when you buy 4 or 7 day MYW tickets... I just got quoted a package thru AAA, and those were in the said "package". (But only if tickets were purchases thru them.) On a side note, ALL of the other travel agencies I have been quoted for, have been cheaper than AAA... Maybe check Ebay for the diamond parking passes, or craigslist if you have that in your area. Good luck!

It depends on the office. At ours you can get one if you go in there and buy at least one Disney ticket from them or if you book a package it is included. I have heard of other offices that will just give them out if you go in and ask. Booking a package thru AAA is the only sure way at all locations.

Your best bet is to see if your local AAA office will give you one. They aren't transferable but that doesn't keep people from selling them on ebay.

in 05 & 06, i just bought one hopper pass but i can't remember for how many days (3?) online at aaa.com & selected will-call for pick-up in the park. attached to my ticket to print out was the parking pass. i was surprised - i'm not sure if it's b/c i did will-call or the # of days on the pass or what but i'm going to do the same this year. i'm going to buy at least one of our tickets at aaa.com. - jenny
