I think you have to call reservations to use your AAA.

Disney can only book room only reservations with guests using a AAA discount.
For a AAA WDTC package, guests have to go through AAA.

to answer the original question, No - you cannot get the AAA discount and Free Dining...you're only allowed one discount per reservation: you have to choose which one is the best deal for you. Typically, the AAA discount is just 20% off the rack rate of the room, so Free Dining would give you a much better over-all price.

You can still book this through your AAA agent - they can book any of the offers (including the current 4/3 deal.) There are some other advantages of booking directly through your AAA person - you will get the AAA Diamond parking pass (closer parking than normal lot parking) and you'll get a merchandise discount card. If you book during January, a lot of AAA offices are doing special promotions and offering other perks...last year we booked during January & got a $25 per room gift card. Don't know what our AAA is offering this year because I booked online this time...

The Free Dining ad promotion to the general public has usually come out around April 10 (going from memory, that's not the exact date.) Basically, you had to do the booking in April-June for vacations sometime from the end of August through end of September. That promotion was started to encourage people to go during the least busy time of year (because school has already started, it's very hot & humid & it's prime hurricane season in the southeast from Aug-September.) The free dining helps fill rooms that normally had sat empty.

To get it applied to your room, you have to have vacation scheduled during the right dates, and there has to be availability at your resort for the type of room you want - basically they'd re-book your vacation then to get you the promotion deal. The rates can not always be applied to all reservations - there is a limited number of rooms for each promotion, so once those rooms are gone, you can't get the discount there (even though there may be room still available at that resort.)
