I am sooooooo sorry if this question has been asked before, but I've been throwing around the idea of joining AAA to bogart some trip discounts and I was curious as to if anyone has used a AAA discount to book a cabin and how much it ended up costing?

*Side Note* Long story short, my husband is a booger so instead of staying at the SOG, which is half the price of a cabin btw, he hates Disney and really doesn't want to come along on this trip. (HELLO, don't come then!!!) So I'm shelling out the extra dough on a cabin to appease him.

Hello, my name is Casey and I need to vent.

LOL...Go, Casey, go!!!! AAAs are available...but they are issued in spurts, apparently. Ask for it when you make reservations, if its available at that time, they'll give it to you...but,....for some strange disney reason....they arent ALWAYS available. Im sure someone will chime in shortly with the explanation of why they are and arent available at certain times. Welcome abord the Dis Camping/Alcohol Abuser's board;)

Go ahead and get the AAA. It pays for itself pretty quick with the discounts. I am sure Rhonda will chime in with a post about the availability of AAA discounts. She is the expert, not me. All I know is that my AAA membership pays for itself pretty quick.

I'm saving about $450 on a cabin for eight nights in Sept/Oct. More than pays for itself right there.

Another option which you may not be aware of is using an AP discount. If you watch the boards, you will be able to see when they are available. A girlfriend and I were able to book a cabin during spring break a couple of years ago for around $139? $149? I wasn't even thinking about buying an Annual Pass but when we actually did the number crunching, it was more economical to buy one AP and get the discount on the cabin for the week than pay full price for the cabin & MYW passes. The money saved on the cabin pretty much covered the cost of the AP. In addition, the cost of theme park tickets was now covered for one of the adults. We also were able to save a few more dollars buy eating some of our meals in the cabin. Between the two of us, we had four small children and just being able to give them a quick bowl of cereal in the morning and have some snacks on hand ended up being a significant savings. It was also much easier then hauling them all out to a restaurant to eat.

I think there is an AP (annual pass) discount of $159.00 for cabins now through August 2nd.
We have AAA...it's worth having. You will also be able to use it for a 10% discount on the bike or marina rentals as well. It's not printed on the sign where the rates are..but just ask they will apply it. Depending on the time of year you can save 20% on a room with AAA.
