We are flying into San Diego, staying a few days and traveling to Disney for 3. We joined AAA for the discount we got booking our hotel in San Diego, though we really don't know what other AAA benefits that might be available in SD as well as Disneyland? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Many of the restaurants discontinued the AAA discount, but I 'think' you can still get a discount on tours at DLR. Also, if you are parking your car at an airport park n ride in your city then you may get a discounted rate with them. We get a good deal on parking at a Seattle lot with our AAA card.

I had no idea that the restaurants had cancelled the AAA discounts in DLR!!:scared1: I will have to call and check on that..but ....you can get free parking in Mickey & Friends parking lot if you purchase your park hoppers through AAA. Also, there is a AAA discount for hotel room only for the Disney resort hotels. You have to call to book them and ask for the AAA rate. :goodvibes

Several other hotels in the area also offer AAA discounts. Candy Cane Inn springs to mind. You'd have to check with each attraction, but I know places like Legoland, San Diego Zoo, and many museums offer AAA discounts, sometimes by pre-buying through AAA and sometimes just at the gate. These may not necessarily be better than other deals you find out there, of course, but good to check. Have fun planning.

They discontinued them the first of the year.

We've been AAA members for years. We found, though, that for our travel dates, Disney's discount for GCH was waaaay better than what we could get with AAA. Disney's discount was essentially 40%, and AAA was only offering 10%. We also booked through Costco, which got us free character dining vouchers and a $20 GC. AAA doesn't offer that.

We've found that AAA and Disney together offer more discounts and opportunities at WDW than at DLR.

We also used AAA to get a discount on our room in La Jolla at the end of our trip - we did something similar to what you are planning.
