I went to AAA today to compare their resort room-only rates vs. the rates I was researching online (which was a pain in the BUTT) using the 15 digit pin I just received via snail mail. The AAA agent, despite them having a huge MK poster in the window and signage about their Disney expert-dom, looked at me like I was from Jupiter and swears she has never heard of a 15 digit pin. She called WDW reservations while I was there and did get the rate quotes for me, which were the same as what I was finding when I was able to enter my pin online. Our last trip in 2008, I booked through AAA at WL and got the diamond parking and other perks. This time, AAA told me that they could make the reservation for me using the better pin code rate, but I would not get any AAA perks. What the hell is the point in that?? I could call WDW myself. Anyone encountered this cluelessness from AAA? I swear last time we used a pin as well, and not the AAA rate, and they still handled the arrangements for me. The AAA room only rates were significantly higher, no surprise. I have a deal through Wyndham timeshares to get a 15% discount on park hopper tix, and that is better than anything disney.com or AAA can do for me which is why I was thinking of booking room only with the pin discount and then doing park tix separately for the best deal.
