I can't drive due to my disability. All the drivers in my home (dh & 3 children) are AAA members. Which leave myself & my youngest without memberships. My question is, would we be eligible for AAA discounts on things like AMtrak tickets under dh's membership. If anyone has experience like this, please advise what you do for similliar discount opts. I hate to spend all the money for the AAA membership just for the discounts. Also, I'm not even sure if I could get a AAA membership as I don't currently have a valid license.

Thanks to all.

I think you should call your local AAA office for the best answer, but I believe the discounts are only for members, not when using someone else’s card.
As far as I know, you don’t need a license to join AAA. You could be added as an associate to your husband’s membership at a lower rate than becoming a member with your own account.
Besides Disney, there are many discounts available for AAA members - I know we have gotten discounts at different restaurants at home and when I got new glasses, I get a discount on those with my AAA card.

Your always suppose to be the card holder. That said not all ask for the card or look that closly. But, I got my daughter the cheapy for her. It was $25 at the time. Some how they upgraded her with out me realizing it:confused3 I do know for somethings if one person is a member you can get multiply tickets, like I could get tickets for an amuzement park for my kids that didn't drive and such.

Give them a call.

My husband is also a non-driver due to disability. I have always booked things with AAA discounts for us as a family. I don't know that he could book tickets (for example) without me, but if the whole family is going, only one membership is needed for us and our minor children. Amtrak asks about AAA adults and AAA children- clearly the children do not have AAA themselves. :)
