A610 picture using digital zoom

I love my A610 but I've been a little disappointed with the 4x zoom (compared to our Kodak with 10x) so I took a few pictures with the digital zoom turned on after reading a thread on another photography board and I thought the quality was pretty good but for the most part I just do p&s so I'm sure you experts would see something in the quality that I wouldn't. The first was one was taken with 2.5x digital zoom - 10x total. The bottom one (sorry, don't know why it's displaying so small) is taken with 4x optical only.

Without the original files to be able to open in an editing program and compare quality at "real pixel" size I would say "use the digital zoom". It looks good to me, again at these sizes.

The A610 have enough digital resolution (MP count) making 2.5x digital zoom okay for prints up to 8x10.

good to know, we bought the a620 for sil and daughter for their anniversary and the zoom was my biggest worry about it... looks good to me!
