They automatically run the same sample twice if you test positive so they definitely found covid in that sample and I can’t fault them for being proactive. An outbreak on a ship would be miserable. Sorry it was frustrating but I understand why they didn’t let you board.

I am sorry this happened to you but to say it was a false positive is misinformation, you have no way of knowing if it was or wasn't a false positive just because your other test came back negative. I think with cruising right now, everyone has to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I just cruised another line and had back-up plans in case of testing positive at the port. It can happen to anyone, and I am planning a Disney cruise in a few weeks and have back-up plans for that too.

Thanks for sharing. I’m sorry you went through this. This fear and anxiety is real and even worse for us cruisers who are flying. Being positive with no where to go is a nightmare. 😢

Our worst nightmare came true when we were pulled to the side and the trip that we have been planning for over a year was ruined. How could this be? I have been testing at home for days… I work from home… I have been careful to the max…. I asked for a retest “no” I got my child vaccinated on her 5th bday so she could be vaccinated two days into the cruise. This was huge for us. I wasn’t offered a discounted sailing like I had read in forums…. They didn’t even offer a voucher until I asked and they were hesitant and convinced us to take the refund. I was heart broken for my daughter and for our family. they offered to drop us off at the bayside marketplace place (odd… shouldn’t they be asking me to quarantine…?) we got to the hotel and I promptly found a drug store… two home tests negative…. So then I went to a testing site locally… rapid antigen-negative….. yesterday I received my PCR results from the testing site… (same test Disney runs only not rapid) NEGATIVE! Disney this is despicable. I’m not sure if they had to bump a certain amount of guests and I got the bad luck of the draw or what but retest your guests! So just be warned. This could happen to you… there were about 12 families that had been pulled by 1230.

I'm sorry, are you really accusing DCL of "bumping" you from the cruise by making up a positive PCR result? And they dropped you off at a shopping area? And they pushed you take a refund over a voucher for a future cruise? And you somehow found rapid tests at a drug store in Miami on a whim? Absolutely none of this adds up.

I am assuming this was Miami where Bayside Marketplace Place is located? It looks like they do have limited stock in Miami at CVS and Walgreens.
A lot of those inventory things online are inaccurate. I treat them with suspicion because of how they work.

I would be suspicious except for the fact that my oldest daughter(school teacher) wasn't feeling well about 3 weeks ago took 2 home tests which were negative then got her PCR results back and it was positive. So none of the tests seem to be 100% accurate. Everyone needs a plan B,C and D when cruising until testing is no longer needed.
