~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

That Mexi Lasagna looks AMAZING!!!! You need to share the recipe with us!

Ray sounds like my hubby...Dave would live at Casey's if he could!!

MMMMM............ mexican lasagna is soooo good! That looked fabulous!

Love the next installment - too funny about Scrooge - you were popular with the characters that day for sure! When we went in '07 DD was 4 and she was terrified of the Mad Hadder - so Luke is not alone!

Great updates....I wish I was closer so I could have Mexicana night w/ ya'll! I LOVE the pic of you and Scrooge. It's one of my faves so far in this TR! We never stopped to meet him. He always had a huge line. He's a popular fella around Christmas isn't he? :goodvibes

Joining the pleas for the Mexican Lasagna recipe -- I wanted to try something new this week and that would be just the ticket! We are huge fans of Mexican food at our house. Please, please, please share the recipe, Dawn! :flower3:

I read all the Twilight books and loved the first three (hated the fourth -- it was so weird), but I have not seen the movie -- I think part of it is that I just didn't picture Bella and Edward looking like that. I would have loved to hear the comments you all made while you watched it!

What a great day at MK -- it must have been cold because all the girl characters have their cloaks and gloves on. Too neat seeing Alice and the Mad Hatter -- I love the goofy expressions he is wearing in all the photos.

I concur with the Twilight movie not being like the book. I understand that you can't put everything in the movie, but they could at least make it right. The Cullens' house in the book is a three story "old" house, in the movie it's all modern! In the book he shows Bella himself in the sunlight when they are in the clearing. in the movie it's on some rock in the woods. I hope they do better with the next movie. I'm rereading the books, and it's nice to have a face with the names.
I would love to have been at your party! I think I probably would've peed my pants laughing!
I'm going to a directors cut party on Fri. It'll be interesting.
Your update was great. It sounds like you had a successful shopping trip too!

Dawn what is in a Mexican lasagna?! Holy mother it looks so good! ;)

Thats too funny with what happened to Ray and Mr. Scrooge! Seriously, I think the CMs who play the characters do such a good job of entertaining the guests and staying true to their character. :thumbsup2 for them. I really want to see your castle throw too, it sounds appealing to me. Can't wait to see pictures from the Twas the Night Before Christmas show, I've heard so many good things about it! :goodvibes

The Mexican Lasagna looks AWESOME!! MUST know how to make :upsidedow

I love the pics with the mean duck!

Looking at these REALLY makes me want to go this December. But I just don't know how we would work it in :guilty: I REALLY need Nov 1st to fall on a Thursday again....but that won't happen for what.....7 years :sad2:

Great updates! Looks like you girls had a great time. I'm getting ready to start reading Twilight.

You saw a lot of character's that morning! I'm hoping we see Alice and the Mad Hatter when we ride the tea cups. I thought what Ray said to Scrooge was funny!

since i've already had a few requests for the recipe, i'll go ahead and share it here!

Mexican Lasagna

Ingredients:
cooking spray
12 oz. cooked chicken
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup salsa of your choice
1 4-oz. can chopped green chiles
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon ground chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (i couldn't find this so i used red pepper)
8 6-inch corn tortillas, cut into 6 wedges

~Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
~grill or bake chicken. When I grilled it, I put some cajun seasoning on it first. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes.
~Coat 11x7-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
~In a large bowl, combine chicken, sour cream, 3/4 cup of the Mont. Jack cheese, 3/4 cup of the Cheddard cheese, salsa, chiles, cilantro, chili powder and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
~Arrange half of the tortilla pieces in the bottom of the sprayed pan, overlapping pieces slightly to cover the surface. Top with the chicken mixture and smooth over with the back of a spoon to even the top. Layer remaining tortillas on the top and top with remaining 1/4 cup of Mont. Jack and Cheddar cheeses.
~Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 more minutes or until top is golden and bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. I also sprinkled some chili powder on the top just for looks.
~Top with pico de gallo, sour cream and/or guacamole or nothing at all - whatever way you like it!

Enjoy! :goodvibes

Tink then Alice---- it was your lucky day! I love the scrooge pics too! So much fun and festive!

Thank you Thank you Thank you! for sharing that recipe! Talk about food porn at its best! I don't cook, but I'm gonna make my hubby make this for me soon! Yummmm!

Love your latest installment! Sooo funny about Scrooge!:rotfl2:

As for Twilight...I totally agree with you that they could've done a much better job with the movie. The movie was ok-ish to me, but only b/c I went in with very low expectations. I like Robert Pattinson, but Kristen Stewart is an awful actress and is not at all what I pictured Bella as!

Mexican Lasagna
Enjoy! :goodvibes

YUMMMMMMM!!!!

I will be trying that!!

I've been making my own tortilla chips lately.....LOVE IT!! I bake them so much less fat and I can keep up with my calories much better :thumbsup2

**UPDATE** My computer is back and up and running!!! :yay:
Just posted a new update to the Vandy pirate: Girls thread :cheer2:

Your Twilight night sounds like lots of fun! The kids at the school I teach at are all obseeeeessed with Twilight. And Robert Pattinson too! The thing that annoyed me most about the "Say it out loud" scene is that it was totally different from the trailer! In the trailer, when she says, "Vampire", you only see her mouth, really really closely. But the movie didn't have the close-up scene. Weird!! :confused3

Your Mexican food spread looks awesome! I have a question for you though! I went out for dinner with friends tonight, and "pico de gallo" was in a salad on the menu, and we were all trying to work out what it actually was! And now, there it is in your Mexican food! So Dawn, what is pico de gallo!?! We're a bit slow over here in Australia!! :lmao:

I like this photo....

21-12.jpg

.... because look, there's a bubble in the air!! Is that what it is!? How cute!!

I'm with Luke - the Mad Hatter freaks me out too!!

So many pretty Christmas decorations!! :yay:

Looks like a fun night with the girls! I'll be trying the recipe out soon, too.

All kids like the Tomorrowland Speedway, it seems, since it's like 'real' driving.

I've always thought the Christmas Tree Lot was cool, too. You don't get to see Scrooge much, and Donald is cute in his red and black plaid when he is there.

What a great job the piano guy has! It would be nice to go to Magic Kingdom, do something you enjoy, entertain people, and get paid for it!

Thanks for the Mexican lasagna recipe. I may try that this weekend. It looks SO yummy!

I am relieved to hear that I am not the only one who wasn't thrilled w/ the Twilight movie! I just saw it on Saturday and was so disappointed. I generally find books better b/c I like the pictures in my head :upsidedow but in this case I thought lots of it was just "wrong." And I know it is blasphemy but I just don't think that Robert Pattinson is that cute. Nor do I really like the actor who plays Jacob.

How's your toe?

Any baby news?

Love that you got to meet Tinkerbell. Very cute. Iridessa does look like she liked you quite a bit! :rotfl: Scrooge was funny with Ray!

I must have missed where you gave the baby's due date, I hope for a safe and fast delivery and that your brother and Jordan can work out things enough to be good parents for the baby.

Thanks for the picture of Fairy Treasurers...I will have to look for that shop when we go back...all that tinkerbell stuff!! Colby loves the speedway as well, typically he and James go and ride while I am on Space Mountain. We missed Scrooge when we were down over Thanksgiving...looks like he is a lot of fun.

I agree with everyone on twilight. I know that the movies will never do the books justice but they really just tore that book apart. I just wish they would have shown more of Bella and Edwards relationship and the meadow.

Thanks for the recipe. It looks really good. I'm totally gonna make it.

This is what it looks like Chris is saying. :lmao:
