I've read all of the updates, but so as not to slow the group down, I'll just comment on the latest one.

'OK, no problem' I told the CM at the desk, 'Just search it using my confirmation number'

'I'm sorry sir, we cannot use the conformation number to find the reservation.'

That's just odd. I can swear I've seen confirmation numbers on their screens when I check in. Maybe it's the new system? Maybe the CM just didn't know how? Maybe you really didn't have a reservation!
(My money is on the under-trained CM)

I was a little annoyed, but the CM was working on his computer typing and typing and typing.

Like when you're talking to a airline and they type about five or six hundred characters just get your bags checked in? He was probably IMing his girlfriend, complaining about this guest he was dealing with that insists he has an ADR...

I had the same smile on while I was taking the picture. We just LOVE breakfast at Kona. We have always had a great meal here and today wasn't an exception.

I'm debating the idea of a Kona breakfast on our next trip. I really want to, but we're typically breakfast-in-the-room people. You make it very tempting, though.

When we woke up, I realized that it was Saturday already. I swear time speeds up when you cross the Florida state line. We finished packing our park bags for our day of park hopping- MK & DHS were on the agenda- but first we had an ADR at Kona.... or so we thought.

Sooo very true! Time flies, it's like we entered the Twilight Zone or something.

We arrived at Kona Cafe 10 minutes before our 8:40 ADR which was really good for us. LOL We are usually arriving late for our breakfast ADRs. I went to check us in and they couldn't find my name.

'OK, no problem' I told the CM at the desk, 'Just search it using my confirmation number'

'I'm sorry sir, we cannot use the conformation number to find the reservation.'

'Ummmmm, OK?' I said.

Ok, this really strange. Then what's the point of having a confirmation# then?

Are you wondering the same thing I was wondering when I was standing at the desk? Why give me a confirmation number if it is worthless? What good is the number if I can't use it for anything? Do they just like making people write down a 9 digit number for fun?

I hate writing those stupid, long #'s down! I feel like I get cross eyed after awhile! And I had to write it twice since we faxed in an allergy form for DD and I. Too many #'s!

Awwww, Kona is an awesome place for breakfast, just ate there Monday morning!

And I opted for the BIG Kahuna.

Aahhhh, the Big Kahuna is delish! Although it's hard to seem dainty and lady like when they plop that sucker down in front of you! I can never finish it but I like having so much variety on one plate, don't you? And the macadamia pancakes are amazing!

Of course there was a pressed pot of 100% Kona coffee.

Nice. Very artistic. I took a ton of food pics this trip too, some of them came out crappy though!

Juliana missed out on seeing her favorite princess-Cinderella- during MVMCP because she fell asleep, so we went to find her in ToonTown. When we arrived, there was a very nice CM who was checking the GAC. Juliana had to show her the card and her Mickey lollipop.

So cute!!

Well, why didn't you get your own lollipop Tim?? Juliana looked quite content with hers! She was probably thinking 'mmmmm, Daddy this is soooo good!'

Fun morning. That food does look good.
I think the whole confirmation number is weird too. When I had to cancel all my ADRs (for 2 trips now) they always told me that my conf. number was now my cancelation number. Now if I went into a restuarnant and they didn't have me, couldn;t they just say, well thats not a conf. number, thats a cancelation number...right? So how would they be able to prove I actually was still booked if I wasn't on thir list?

Glad you guys enjoyed your breakfast at Kona (and glad they were able to get you in despite not finding your ADR and not being able to look it up with your confirmation number. We've eaten there for dinner once, but not breakfast. It's on my list.

It was another great breakfast there. I really don't think you can go wrong there.

Okay, the whole confirmation number is weird if they can't look it up by that. And I swear I have read reports of people having the number and restaurants looking it up by that....how strange! And I agree with you, writing down that 9 digit number, and keeping track of it, isn't exactly "fun"! Regardless, glad you got a seat!

I went back and counted.... it is actually a 12 digit number.

I know they were doing some system upgrades around the time of our trip. I'm not sure if this played a part in my problems?

I like it! Despite just eating breakfast, it made my stomach growl. And how awesome that Pat remembered you, and the coffee for Mel, from the previous day! Impressive.

I can look at my Kona pics and get hungry immediately!!!

Disney does this on purpose.... remember that pic of the SeaRay I had a few updates back? If you turned around 180 degrees, you would see the boats.

I, too, am a huge GIANTS fan and have been all my life. My DH, however, was born and raised in Philadelphia and South Jersey so he loves his Eagles. Sundays in the fall are very interesting around here. You can tell who got our DS dressed on Sundays by what color his shirt is!

HAHA... that's great. Lucky for me, my DW hates football so she is usually in the other room when I'm watching it!

OK LADIES.....I was trying to not talk to much about our shopping excursion- trying to keep my MAN 'cred'.... but you have broke me! LOL

While I took Juliana outside of the Emporium, Melody was inside picking out a few items to buy. She found a few Christmas ornaments, a long sleeve shirt, and a Disney bag. Juliana ended up picking out a multi colored Christmas Mickey bracelet that she used the money that Liesa gave her. BUT the big purchase was made by yours truly! Melody had all her items picked out and Juliana REALLY had to go to the bathroom. I told her I would check out while she took Juliana to the bathroom. Once she left I walked over to the Disney purses and thought this would be a great Christmas gift for Melody. I wasn't loving the price too much but holding that 20% off coupon that was on the bottom of my receipt from Cosmic Rays made it a little easier on my wallet. I asked the CM to wrap the purse first and separately from the other items. Melody returned a few minutes later while I was paying. I had our purchase sent to City Hall to be picked up when we left MK. Here is a picture of the purse I bought her:

And I didn't have a snazzy coupon like you. But it is a gorgeous, gorgeous purse! Dooney & Bourke's are really well made too, they last and keep their shape. I'm sure Mel will love it! How sweet of you to get it for her! Maybe you should be planning a trip to Disney so she can use it there...

She starting using it Christmas Day and has't stopped using it since.

So there you have it.. that's the extent of my shopping story at this time... now back to the TR......




So, we were in ToonTown sitting on the benches at the exit of the princesses, when a CM came over and checked Juliana's GAC then lead us to see the princesses. We walked in and Juliana's favorite princess was first- CINDERELLA!

Juliana shyly walked over to Cinderella.

Cinderella was great with Juliana. They were having the cutest conversation and Cinderella LOVED Juliana's dress!

Juliana asked Cinderella for her signature..

Next was Belle...

For some reason Juliana's meeting with Belle was very short. I'm not sure what was going on. I didn't get many pictures and there was only a few on our photopass cd too. Oh well.

Next was Aurora. She just LOVED Juliana's dress too! She has to check out the entire dress!

She was very nice to Juliana and they had a nice conversation.

We exited the princesses and the CM asked us if we wanted to see the fairies. Of course!!!! We went through a back hallway and were at the front of the fairies line. We had a great photopass photographer who followed us the entire time and was snapping away.

You can see how I have to carry my camera, video camera, and backpack. LOL

First up was Terrance. Juliana was scared of him last time but this Terrance was awesome! He was making jokes and Juliana felt very comfortable with him.

Here Terrance and Juliana were showing each other how they flew...

Mel & I felt left out from the princesses so we got in a few pictures too.

Tinkerbell was admiring Juliana's dress and was watching her with Terrance. Once our family picture was done she came over and grabbed Juliana.

Even Tinkerbell LOVED Juliana's dress and they talked about it for a few minutes.

Juliana had to get Tinkerbell's autograph.

Tinkerbell was great with Juliana.

Lastly, Vidia. Vidia was getting tired of Tinkerbell having all the fun with Juliana so she walked over and 'stole' Juliana from Tink.

Now according to Disney's website Vidia's personality traits are...
Passive-aggressive, arrogant, and not very friendly. HA! Besides having a little attitude toward Tink she was soooooo friendly towards Ana.

They talked for a few minutes too.

When Melody & I asked to get in a picture she huffed and puffed but gave in without too much of a fight. LOL

We had a great time meeting the princesses and the fairies and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
