A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

I am starving right now, and therefore drooling over your Chef Mickey's breakfast! It looks soooooo good. I love all the pictures, you guys look great in your tie dye and match the characters really well. Don't know if that was intended, but it's super cute!

Can't wait to see how this day shapes up. :thumbsup2
I usually don't post my pics of buffets but those came out pretty good and they looked appetizing too. LOL

I guess we weren't planned to match the characters.... it just ended up that way. :goodvibes

WOW! AN UPDATE!
Imagine that! :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I really, REALLY like your shirts. Those are really sweet! You know, with older kids you kind of forget how much the character meet and greets are but with my daughter compiling the signature book for the kids she babysits this year it reminded me how much fun they are. Even if it takes a little coercing to get my 11 yr old son involved. :)
Thank you!

DW & I really have fun meeting the characters too. I can see how a pre-teen/teen might not think it is 'cool'. I think I am mostly past the cool stage.... mostly. :cool2:

:cool1:Update, update!!:cool1:

Looks like an awesome CM breakfast! Amazing that you checked in exactly on time, whew! Ana looked like she was having a blast, and what a great little photographer! She really knows how to get everyone in the shot, not typical for a child her age! We all know that she's extraordinary, though!:cutie:
I really don't know how we got there on time. I thought we would be late for sure.

Juliana does a great job taking pictures. I must say she practices quite often... thank goodness for digital! :lmao:

I like the matching shirts! One of these days, I'm gonna have to figure out how everyone does these Mickey tye-dyes.
Thank you! Glad I have the Captain Oblivious stamp of approval!

There is a thread on the boards on how to make them. I just can't remember where it is.

It all sounds good to me. I'm surprised that it's possible to mess up something like potatoes with sausage in them. That sounds like it should be good, too.
They just had a funky flavor... I thought potatoes+sausage would = SCORE! :confused3

Hey, as long as it's silent, it's all good. :thumbsup2
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi, What a greart trip report so far.
Thank you!

Thanks for taking photos of the food. It is a detail a lot of people don't capture. As a photographer, I photograph a lot of weddings and I always take photos of the food and treats.....I jsut don't take photos of people eating their dinners.....We usually forget what we ate...most of the time on purpose....but some of it is worth remembering...
Thanks! I think food photography happens quite a bit here on the DIS. Most call it 'food porn'! :lmao:

Keep up the good work and I love your choice of the tie dye shirts for CM.... those Big Give customs are awesome.... I love the coordinated stuff because it looks better in group shots! So now I'm rambling..... I'll keep reading!
popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::
I must say we did look good matching.... :lmao::lmao:

**SPOILER**
We tried to match most of the week. :rotfl2:

Great update! Your shirts look great! We got a LOT of compliments on our tie dye shirts too. :) The food at Chef Mickey's looks yummo! Our kids loved riding the monorail through the Contemporary.

Can't wait to read more!
We like riding through the CR too! Juliana always has to find Chef Mickey's when we go through there! :goodvibes

Luvin the CM update. You're t-shirts look fab :)
THANK YOU!!! :3dglasses

I was getting worried that since you left at 8:35 you were going to have to come up with Plan B. Good call to park at CR!
Well, parking at CR was plan B! :rotfl2:

I think I might have liked the cheesy pototo things. Pretty hard to ruin taters, even with turkey sausage in my book.
I agree.... but there was something weird going on with them.:confused3

Looks like you have a busy day ahead with a day at EPCOT AND the party. Hope you can last all day, and late!
It was a very busy day.... someone might NOT have made it to the end. ;)

Someday, I'm going to go at Christmas, but not until after I get to go to the Halloween party.
Good call!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

There appears to be a change from your last TR when Ana was in your room every morning at 6. :confused3
Yes there was a change... and it was welcome! :lmao:

Ah, the slow mornings. I've experienced quite a few of those myself. :sad2:
I'm sure you know where I am coming from here. :rotfl:

Oh, I beg to differ. I can't spoil the surprise, though. You'll just have wait a few more entries in my TR and I'll post the picture.
I can't wait to see what it is.... hummmm.. TSM wait time of 5 minutes?

Funny, I never noticed this was a wreath. Every time we saw it, it was dark outside so the wreath was all lit up. All we saw were the lights in the shape of a Mickey head. I had no idea there was greenery around it. :confused3
It looked great at night with the lights!

Breakfast looked great! And you guys look so cool in your tie dye shirts!
Thank you!!!

great update tim. nice pics. yup, looks like you got ditched while taking the pic.:lmao: love the shirts!! thats one thing we havent done yet, is breakfast at cm. we'll have to give it a try sometime.
I thought you were gonna say 'one thing we haven't done yet is go for the matching look!' :lmao::lmao:

Breakfast at CM is very good. (better than dinner IMO);)

Amazing update :lovestruc
Add me to the drooling over your shirts list:hippie:
Thank you! We had people comment on them all morning.

Great update! Love the shirts. You matched Chef Mickey's. Your pictures have gotten me very excited for Chef Mickey's, which I had been kind of ambivalent about before. Can't wait to hear what happens at EPCOT.
Thank you! If you like eating while there is a party going on then CMs will be great. I'm sure your DS will love it there!

Yay for a yummy bkfst at Chef M's. We enjoyed our dinner there.
Hey Mary! I haven't made it to your report yet. I LOVED all the pics you posted on FB. Your girls are too CUTE!!!!:love:

Those shirts are awesome! Good job getting there on time. The way you were describing it I was afraid you were going to be late.

Make sure you use thinner (the green one) on the left side of the big rock up towards the ceiling. You have to make the floor disappear under the rock so the rock falls out of your way.

I hope this makes sense. :goodvibes

We got stuck at that part too. I had to go online for a hint.

Just checking in !!Am seriously planning our August trip now !! Already I have a couple of wonderful Dis Friends who I will be meeting So my "Imaginary friend list" gets shorter as I meet more Dissers !!

I am loving the Chef Mickey pictures. We ate there in 2007. I have an ADR for March for dinner...but I am planning on canceling it. But haven't yet, because I am debating that over Tuskerhouse breakfast. I want to do both, but one we would have to pay OOP for, plus do we need that much food in on day? LOL!

I am loving the matching look. I wish I was creative and artsy enough to make those tye dye shirts. but I think it would be more of a mess.

Woo-hoo:woohoo:, it's an update! How'd I miss that last night?:confused3 Geez, where is my mind lately?

So Juliana wanted to play at the park, the one that was literally in your driveway at GKTW?? Didn't see that one coming, shocker!:lmao:

We LOVE the WDW sign too! Since we always drive down, it's so exciting when we are close enough to see it!:goodvibes Then it feels like we're really beginning our vacation!

Want to know something funny? I seriously cancelled CRT breakfast yesterday afternoon and replaced it with...Chef Mickey's! My girls love it there, more so than CRT so I switched it and then saw here that you had an update with Chef Mickey's breakfast!:thumbsup2 Score! It reminded me how much we loved the breakfast there. Did I mention my addiction to Mickey waffles? I could eat them for every breakfast!

Ok, dude, you are taller than Goofy in that picture! That made me laugh because I had no idea you were that tall! Poor Juliana looks so tiny next to you and Goofy. She's so adorable!:goodvibes

So what was up with the pic of you and Pluto too? You were standing so far away! Do you have a fear of dogs? I'm just kidding, all of your pics are really good! I especially love the one your future photographer took of you and Mel!:thumbsup2 I'm not just saying this but she really has a good eye!:goodvibes Put that girl in photography school!:thumbsup2

It looks you all had a fabulous morning! I hope it continued at the MK for you too!:goodvibes

Oh and there's NO way I'm posting a video of me doing the cha-cha slide! I wouldn't inflict that kind of pain on anyone! It might just burn your retinas!

ETA: DH thought I was insane too when I would take pics of our food at Disney! Truth be told, I felt a tad weird doing it the 1st time but it doesn't phase me anymore. Now I've trained him to not even touch his plate till I snap a pic!

I feel so honored to see you all wearing your tie-dye shirts! You would look cute in anything of course, but it does match well! :lmao:

Here's the link for the how-to for those that were interested, and yes it is really easy! And really really messy but fun, especially when it is for a Big Give!

Tim, it was good talking to you today.

I love the update. The pictures of Ana at Chef Mickey's are great. And I love the "usual" plate with Mickey picture and the three of you in your matching shirts--what a great family shot. We've not done Chef Mickey's for breakfast in probably 10 years...I think it is time for a return visit for breakfast.

Yay for updates!! :yay::yay:

Ok you are making me totally rethink the no more ADR's thing....hmmm might have to do one at CM. I'll have to see what I can move around on our schedule.......my DH is gonna be over me! :rotfl2:

Yay first day at the parks!! Love your tie dye Mickey Head shirts. Super cute.

Ok Tim I need your opinion on Chef Mickey's. It was one of my favorites back in the day, but I've heard it's gone down hill the last few years. Is this true?

Those shirts are awesome! Good job getting there on time. The way you were describing it I was afraid you were going to be late.
I really thought we were going to be late... I really don't know how we were checking in at 9:10. Chalk it up to Disney magic I guess? :wizard:

We got stuck at that part too. I had to go online for a hint.
I was stubborn and refused to look online.... although it took me a good hour to get out of that room. I have learned that you need to use the thinner just as much- if not more- than the paint. ;)

Just checking in !!Am seriously planning our August trip now !! Already I have a couple of wonderful Dis Friends who I will be meeting So my "Imaginary friend list" gets shorter as I meet more Dissers !!
I will have to check out your thread.... August huh? Hope you bring your bathing suit!:beach:

But haven't yet, because I am debating that over Tuskerhouse breakfast. I want to do both, but one we would have to pay OOP for, plus do we need that much food in on day? LOL!
That is a tough one. We have always wanted to do Tusker House and we actually had it booked one time but we didn't make the ADR. I will say that we really had a great time at CM and the food was great.

I am loving the matching look. I wish I was creative and artsy enough to make those tye dye shirts. but I think it would be more of a mess.
I'm sure it is a mess to make them but look at the finished product... MINT! :goodvibes

Woo-hoo:woohoo:, it's an update! How'd I miss that last night?:confused3 Geez, where is my mind lately?
Maybe you left it in 2010? :confused3

(j/k of course!) ;)

So Juliana wanted to play at the park, the one that was literally in your driveway at GKTW?? Didn't see that one coming, shocker!:lmao:
LOL I'm sure you all could see that happening.

WOW. You dropped CRT for CMs? You know that you have made someone else VERY VERY happy. Those Mickey waffles are just soooooooo guuuuuuud!

Ok, dude, you are taller than Goofy in that picture! That made me laugh because I had no idea you were that tall! Poor Juliana looks so tiny next to you and Goofy. She's so adorable!:goodvibes
I am a smidge under 6'2''. I could probably play Goofy if I ever needed a job working in Disney.

I didn't realize I was standing so far away from Pluto. I have no idea what I was doing! :lmao:

Juliana is very good with pictures. We might have to buy her a real digital camera. She has already outgrown her Fisher Price camera.

Oh and there's NO way I'm posting a video of me doing the cha-cha slide! I wouldn't inflict that kind of pain on anyone! It might just burn your retinas!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't even care anymore (taking pics of my food). But home come I never see anyone else doing it? I mean there HAS to be other DISers around when we eat. :confused3:confused3

Great pictures! I ate at Chef Mickey's last week.
LOVE the matching shirts.:goodvibes
I was following you on FB. It sounded like you had a great time. Sounded like you delt with the crowds fairly well. :goodvibes

I feel so honored to see you all wearing your tie-dye shirts! You would look cute in anything of course, but it does match well! :lmao:
Thank you so much for making them for us! We really love them and we wear them all the time!

Here's the link for the how-to for those that were interested, and yes it is really easy! And really really messy but fun, especially when it is for a Big Give!

Thank you so much for posting this link. This is the thread I remember reading a while back. I know if I tried this I would make a huge mess! :lmao:

We don't get too many family shots since I am the one who is usually behind the camera. I like that picture too!

I think you & Mark would enjoy yourselves at CM. You just might miss your puffed french toast from CP though. :confused3 ;)

Yay for updates!! :yay::yay:

Ok you are making me totally rethink the no more ADR's thing....hmmm might have to do one at CM. I'll have to see what I can move around on our schedule.......my DH is gonna be over me! :rotfl2:
It is hard to decide on ADRs. It is easier to make them now and cancel later than to want them later, because they are usually booked up by then. CM is a good restaurant though. :goodvibes

Yay first day at the parks!! Love your tie dye Mickey Head shirts. Super cute.
Thank you!

Ok Tim I need your opinion on Chef Mickey's. It was one of my favorites back in the day, but I've heard it's gone down hill the last few years. Is this true?
OK, here is my take. We have eaten at CMs for breakfast 2 times and dinner 2 or 3 times. I feel like the breakfast has gotten better while the dinner has gone down a bit. There was a huge uproar a year or so ago when CM (and a few other buffet restaurants) got rid of prime rib (i think it was prime rib?). They still carve meat there but I'm not sure of the cut.

Now don't get me wrong, we still enjoy CM for dinner, but I think I am getting swayed towards just eating there for breakfast.

Man, that's a lot of ingredients!

DSC00463.jpg
Cool Gingerbread House. The Mickey Head shingles are pretty awesome.

I'm getting a cavity just looking at those ingredients. I'd love to tear into that thing and just go to town. But it's probably pretty stale from sitting out.:rotfl:

Can't wait for EPCOT :yay:

ok so I'm almost a month late to this party but am going to try and get caught up!

:goodvibes
