A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

Oh man I was totally expecting an update when I got back home today. But I completely understand about getting caught up in Christmas. I haven't even started shopping for fiancee's side of the family :rolleyes1 and I have how many days left? LOL. And I came home sick with a fever so that's just going to add to the craziness.

Surprisingly I went on Sat. night with my sister to Toysrus & Kohl's late in the evening and they were not mobbed. So I hope you don't encounter too much craziness on your Christmas errands.

That;s Okay Tim !!This is a busy season !!Did ya see I posted some more DC Meet pix !!!
I did see the pics on your thread but I just didn't comment... :rolleyes1

I haven't even had enough time to keep up with this thread. I hope that if I can finish my wrapping tonight at a decent hour I MIGHT have time for a teeny tiny update.

I'm here, (fashionably?) late as usual. But I'm all caught up, love reading about sweet little Juliana :goodvibes What a cool start to her story - being driven to the airport by Santa!
:welcome: Thanks for joining in!!!

btw - count me as another person that noticed the cute matching shoes Mel & Juliana wore. But I'm disappointed to hear Mel thought they were uncomfortable. I had been checking out what looks like similar shoes (are they skechers?) online recently, and they only had 1 review, but it was positive. Are they comfortable, but just not enough for a disney day of walking? I guess I'm glad I didn't order them yet.
The shoes (sneakers, I guess) were Skechers. Mel thought that wearing them for the first time while in Disney was a good idea. They might of worked better for her if she wore them a bit BEFORE the trip. :confused3 :rotfl2:

I'm joining in:goodvibes

I had read Juliana's story on your PTR, but teared up again reading it just now.

You guys have all been through so much, and it's amazing that a place exists like this one to provide families some relief from it all.

Can't wait to hear more
:welcome:

GKTW is an amazing place. I will be posting many more pictures... if I get some 'free' time to get my next update up!! :surfweb: :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Tim!

I'm joining in as well! Juliana is such a beautiful little girl. I hope she had a blast on her MAW trip! Can't wait to hear all about it! :)
:welcome: Thanks! Hopefully I'll have some more of her story up soon. :goodvibes

TR's? PTR's? I think they all suffer attention this time of year! :sad2: The good news is everyone is in the same boat with you my friend! :guilty:
That's good to hear! I think... :confused3 :rotfl2:

In case I don't get another chance, I hope you, Mel and Princess Ana have a wonderful Christmas :santa: and a Great New Year!
Thank you Marv!!!! Same to you and your family!! :goodvibes

we got to stay in one of the new houses it was only open 3 weeks before we stayed in one.
The playground was there but the pool was closed because they were making the new one.
Oh wow! I must say that the house still looked new inside and out. :)

Bummer about the pool.... We were able to swim 1 day and had fun (as long as we stayed IN the water! :rotfl:)

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well :flower3:.... I hope you had a good time in NY. I guess the weather didn't affect your flight out.. :confused3

We have found that the stores have been hit or miss here... but mostly HIT!

I hope you can get your shopping done... there are only 3 days left!:scared1::scared1::eek:

Just wanted to pop in (I've been in bed sick) and say that I absolutely LOVE the Christmas card...it is wonderful! Looking forward to the next update.

Awww, sorry you are sick. Good thing you are all ready for Christmas! You can lay low for a day or 2 and get yourself better. :flower3:

Glad you got it Kathy! You think we are a Disney family? :confused3 :lmao::lmao:

The best darn looking Disney family I've ever seen (not counting us of course :lmao::lmao::lmao: ). Yes, rest is what I need. Now that Andy is safely in Nashville and Markie will be home tomorrow, I can relax a little (although we have a wake to go to tomorrow night which I'm not looking forward to).

No, it didn't snow, thankfully. :goodvibes It was weird going back there, who knew so much could change in almost a year. It's scary. :scared1:

I'm thinking of getting gift cards for his family, it'll make my life easy. LOL.

Oh Kathy, I can relate to you. I kept going in and out of consciousness all of last night and today and I think I finally broke my fever. I hope you feel better too! It stinks being sick right before a big Holiday.

Thanks; luckily, I've not had a fever; yesterday it was the stomach and today it is a sore throat. I'm sucking down juice and meds to be better soon, I hope.

I hope you feel better too.

Ugh, gift wrapping:sad2:. I 100% dislike wrapping gifts! As a matter of fact, I have been known to either stuff it in a gift bag or wrap it up in a Target shopping bag!:rolleyes1 I'm that person at b-day parties who shows up with a Christmas gift bag for a birthday! I'm cool like that! I'm surprised my own mother hasn't disowned me because of it, she is insanely obsessed with wrapping her packages with dainty bows, strings, foils and blah blah blah!

Tim save yourself the countless hours of wrapping and just go buy a bunch of gift bags and tissue paper. Then you'll have plenty of time for oh, I don't know, an update...:rolleyes1:goodvibes

TOTALLY AGREE. I do 75% of my gifts with gift bags and tissue paper. And an update before the weekend would be nice. ;)

I don't mind wrapping, but I do use a lot of bags and deorated boxes, esp for my DD, that way I can re-use them again next year!

hope everyone is feeling better!

Thank you both; I'm feeling a little better. I'm hoping to hit the bed in an hour (by then our almost 25 year old should STOP texting me as the concert he is at will have started...unless he calls me to play the music in my ears :lmao::lmao::lmao:).

Kathy I hope you are better soon!!I start short days tomorrow as Kyle is OFF and I will stay home during the day and work at night !!! I kinda like it as the office people have gone home and I don't get bugged with phone calls:rotfl2:

After exploring the village, we went back to our villa to unpack a bit and to get freshened up before dinner. Considering we didn't really eat a lunch, our plan was to make it over to dinner when they started serving at 6pm. Within 20 minutes of being in the villa, we were walking back over for dinner. We did make one stop first. In the Castle of Miracles (where all the stars are on the ceiling), there is Twinkle Hope's La Ti Da Royal Spa. It wasn't open when we were in here earlier and Juliana really wanted to get her nails painted, so we went back and it was open!

Juliana was being a little shy at first.

But she warmed up pretty quick.

DSC00414.jpg

Juliana couldn't decide on what nail polish to use. The girl suggested that Juliana get a heart put on each nail (glued on I guess?) before getting the polish put on. That sounded perfect to her!

This guy was peaking in! (Looking up towards the ceiling)

The girls that were volunteering at the spa were so nice and really had fun pampering Juliana. After her nails were dry they gave her a My Little Pony Twinkle Hope lunch box.

Before I go any further, you should know that GKTW runs by donations from individuals as well as companies. In 2008, Hasbro introduced a My Little Pony called Twinkle Hope with all the proceeds going to GKTW. They also have donated money and toys to GKTW. You can read about the spa and Twinkle hope HERE.

After getting pampered, it was REALLY time to eat. So we took the short walk over to the Gingerbread house. We walked in and there were quite a few families already eating dinner. After walking through the buffet, volunteers carry your trays to your table for you. It is really sweet. We sat in front of some kids from a local grammar school who were singing & playing Christmas carols on a keyboard. Juliana was wide eyed- watching them the whole time. After each song, everybody was clapping for them. It was really cute and actually got us into the Christmas mood.

Juliana thought these flowers were cute!

If you look up inside the Gingerbread house, you will see thousands of dolls that were donated from Wish families back to GKTW. They line the entire ceiling.

It really is another amazing sight.

We finished up with dinner and were going to walk over to the Ice Cream Palace for a little dessert, but the carousel was running and of course, the Princess had to take a ride!

DSC00429.jpg

I think a lot of people had the same idea for ice cream because it was pretty busy in the Ice Cream Palace!

They have all kinds of toppings and you can even get banana splits and milkshakes if you'd like. We finished up our ice cream and it was almost time for the orientation that I had to go to.

I walked the girls back to the villa grabbed some paper and a pen and walked back to the House of Hearts (welcome center) for the orientation. It was important to go to find out about the village, get our park tickets, etc.... The meeting took about 50 minutes. Another walk back to the villa and I got back just in time to kiss Juliana goodnight. Melody was beat and was in bed by 9:30. I stayed up for a while and hopped on the DIS using my cell phone and posted this:

Hey everyone! I'm responding from my phone, which is a pain, but I wanted to tell you all we are here! We made it and we are in the new section of GKTW right across from the playground. We have done so much already and we haven't even left GKTW. Traveling really kicks the cr@p out of you so I'm head to bed in a few. Juliana has received so many gifts already. Now I know why they tell you to bring an extra suitcase to fit everything in to. We even received a little something from a couple of DISers... but you will have to wait for the TR to hear about that! LOLOL I will be back tomorrow night and tell you about our day! One day down 6 to go!

I was beat too and shortly after this post I went to bed.

Up next: Chef Mickey's, Epcot, & MVMCP all in 1 DAY!

The best darn looking Disney family I've ever seen (not counting us of course :lmao::lmao::lmao: ).

time!!!

You should see my family... how the gift is wrapped is 100x more important than what is actually in the box. :lmao: It is nuts! Melody's family is the exact opposite- they don't care what the wrapping looks like!

You got your update! :lmao::goodvibes

Tim I am loving all the info on the Village !! I have never seen many pix of it before:cloud9::love:I am trying to type but the kitten has other ideas !!Oh phew she finally left!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I was awake for an update for a change. I was just going to bed when Andy texted me a picture from outside the arena. :rolleyes1

In any event, I love the update. Princess Ana and Mel look great in the throne! And what fun that there were kids singing carolers at dinner. And that ice cream looks yummy. I love Ana's choice of ride on the carousel. :thumbsup2

thanks for our lastest update Tim! what a wonderful spa, getting pampered must of been fun for Ana, love the spa name! love all the pictures too!!
my DD used to have so many my little ponies, what a great thing they do for GKTW!!
