A whole new World... UPDATED with Animal Kingdom Day

I wasn't sure if I should be the one announcing this (please tell me Teresa and Heather if I'm breaking posting protocol here :) ) but we are SO EXCITED TO BE PART OF THE BIG GIVE!!!!!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

I feel so blessed and humbled that ladies that are practically strangers are willing to spend time and money on MY children..... :sad1: Just amazing!!

So now we are jump-up-and-down EXCITED!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thank you again amazing Big Give Group!!!!!!! You have no idea how much you bless us.

I'll be posting an update later today (after I've stopped my son from digging in the garbage.....!)

Oh, you make me cry how excited and happy you are!!!

Thank you, Teresa! :) I like the Hawaian name and it really is pretty close. :) I look forward to reading more from your TR. :) I'm going to have to buy some rubberbands soon. :thumbsup2

I took Denise's advice and looked in the baby department of Walmart and found some really pretty ones! And they come in a little plastic box (it looks like one of those pill boxes they have with the days of the week on it). I also got some from Sally's Beauty Supply, but they weren't quite as pretty if you ask me! The ones from Walmart had SPARKLES! I'm a sucker for Sparkles and glitter!

On a sad note, me and DH went to the mall today after seeing the Norwegian Consul (sp?) about my passport (that will be ready in a few weeks! :)) and just witnessing someone recieving CPR..

That had to be so hard to see.

I just wanted to show off the new bathing suit I bought Lydia for our trip (hopefully we'll be able to use it at least once, they do have a heated pool at GKTW). I just fell in love with the roses on it. :) I think it'll look cute on her. :yay:

th_bathingsuit.jpg
I love it!!! That is so adorable!

Lydia looks so pretty in her party dress!

The bathing suit is adorable!! She's going to look so cute! I can't get over how beautiful your kids are!! Lydia looks like a little princess in her dress!

BTW, I don't think that your doing to much in your plan. You have lots of down time and bedtimes. The key is not to burn the candle at both ends! With little ones you can't start at rope drop in the morning and close the park at night. It will make from very uphappy, cranky kids! Just do what you feel is right as the Mommy! If you think they've had enough your right! If you think they's like to go a little more your right! As long as your not the crazy parent dragging a child who looks completely exhausted and miserable through the park (believe me I've seen it numerous times, it's terrible!) and your still having fun all is good!!

:dance3: 2 months!!! Yippee!!

Thank you, Melissa!! :) She was convinced she WAS a princess! :lovestruc
Thanks for making me feel good about our plan, I definitely don't want to be one of those parents. My children's comfort and rest is very important to me (dh says too much! :rotfl: ) and sometimes I might even go too much that way. I think that we may somtimes play i by ear and see how everyone is feeling. It will be a long and tiring week but also so much FUN!!!!! :yay:

Oh Yay! I am so glad they liked the stuff we sent!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yes, it was Christmas morning here!!! :rotfl: Thank you again, Amber! I showed pictures of Sebastian and Savannah to Lydia yesterday and explained that they're the ones who sent it to her. She was pretty impressed (in her 3 yo sort of way  ).

Oh, you make me cry how excited and happy you are!!!

Aww. :) We are really excited! :yay: I'm telling all my friends and family that some wonderful people, practically strangers, are blessing us with the most amazing gift and they're just amazed every time (I get a kick out of it!! ). I haven't seen any rubberbands in our baby department (maybe they are a bit different here in Canada) but I'll have a look around. I love sparkles too! I think it's my inner 4 year old, lol! ;)
Thanks, I look forward to trying the swimsuit out on her! :) It'll be a few days before it arrives in the mail.

I better get busy with my :laundy: ! You ladies wouldn't BELIEVE how long we've been living out of laundrybaskets...

If you haven't figured it out yet, here is my official confession: Hi, my name is Linda and I'm a strolloholic! I LOVE strollers!! I just can't get enough! There's always something new and cool and different out there that will fit a certain need and use PERFECTLY! :rotfl2: I am now the proud owner of 6 strollers!!! But to my defense I have only bought two of them myself and one of those was second hand. My mom bought us a travel system when Lydia was born and it was okay, but I'm not really a Graco person (there I go again, did you know there was such a thing as a Graco-person??? :lmao: ). When Tobias was born we bought a double and for Lydia's surgery someone gave us a nice and big umbrella stroller. When Tobias was 7 months I found a second-hand DREAM stroller (in my opinion, I'm European, what can I say? ;) ). A Peg Perego Elegante pram. *sigh* :cloud9: And as you maybe know we recently added a Peg Perego Pliko to the family for Tobias for the Wish Trip. We really wanted both of them to be in umbrella type strollers as those are so much smaller and portable. So though I do research and look at strollers online all the time I don't run out and buy them all (who can afford a $900 Stokke anyways??). But I do have quite a few... I'm planning on giving away the original Graco (it is pretty run down by now) and I'm going to sell the umbrella stroller we got for the hospital. And why, do you ask, am I telling you all this? Because today I bought yet ANOTHER stroller. :rotfl: This one is to replace the hospital umbrella one because it has a better recline and comes with a raincover and a big canopy. And it was $40! :) I'm already in love. :lovestruc  I think it will be great for Lydia to use in the parks as it will allow her to recline comfortably for naps and the canopy will cover her from the sun and (with the raincover) the rain. Here are a couple of pictures of the bundle of joy :lmao:

The first two shows it's recline and with the raincover on, the last one just straight from the front. :)

We are like long lost stroller soul-mates! I have also owned, researched and bought over half a dozen strollers.

I understand exactly what you mean when you say you are not a "Graco" person---as neither am I.

On our last trip to Disney I was so proud of my matching Pink and Blue Jeep Liberty Umbrellas.

I squirelled money away for months in my dresser drawer to buy a BOB Duallie Revolution Stroller.

1d60fe99.jpg

I was so in love with it that I immediatly wanted the single Revolution version for Savannah.

So I took two cars full (one being a van) to sell at a local consignment sale. With the money that I made I bought my second BOB. I bought the car seat adaptor so I can run with her in it.

We now have over $1000 in BOB Strollers. It is really ridiculous! But I am in love!!! They steer like a dream! Recline beautifully and fold down surprisingly small. The wheels even come off.

We "field" tested them last weekend at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and agreed that they would be awesome at Disney.

We have to try and meet up while we are there...Stroller Soul Mate ;)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
Stroller soul-mate!!!!!! :) That's awesome!!! I had to read your post out loud to DH, who thinks I'm generally nuts! :rotfl: It really feels good to know I am not alone. :lmao: I HAD noticed your cute matching strollers!!! :rotfl2: You know how women sneak peeks at cute babies walking by? I peek at the strollers!! ;) Every time I see something new, I have to stop and tale a closer look. I really, really love any kind of stroller that has a bassinet for a newborn. And I'm seriously considering having another baby so that I can truly get to use the Peg Perego pram (though I would have to buy a bassinet from ebay.co.uk for it :rotfl: )!
Oh, well, everyone has some sort of addiction, I guess, and mine at least won't last forever. :)

So, YES, we have to meet up, even just to admire each other's strollers! ;) Lydia really wants to meet Sebastian and Siennah too! :yay:

LOL! Your too funny!

In Sunday School today one of Lydia's little friends BIT Lydia on her nose, poor baby!! Lydia forgave her right away (she's very sweet that way) but the girl's mom was so embarassed. I would be too! I think she got punished, so all is well. She wasn't quite ready to say sorry, but we'll meet up later and let them make up. :) This little girl is really sweet but she has an older brother and I guess things get out of hand sometimes. :confused3 Lydia is just not the violent type and I don't think she's ever hurt another kid. I'm not so sure about her brother though! :rotfl: I have a feeling we'll have our hands full with him!

I took a picture of her when we came home. Her face has ketcup on it too from lunch, but you can see the bitemarks on her nose!

Oh my goodness poor baby!

When DD7 & DS6 where little I used to take them to a play group at our library. When DS6 was a BABY, I mean 2 months old, he was sleeping in his baby carrier off to the side of room. One of the little girls went over and bite him on the finger! I saw it happen and could get there in time to stop her because of all the little bodies in the room. I was so mad! Mostly because the mom, someone I really don't care for, really did nothing! All she did was tell her "we don't bite" are you kidding?! She just bite a sleeping 2 month old baby! But I digress...

I glad she's ok and her and her friend made up quickly!

The poor thing! I thought you were going to say she got bit by a misquito or something, not a kid! Tessa was a biter when she was about a year old, so I know how the other mother feels, too! She wouldn't do it because she was mad, she just wanted to see what would happen. :headache:

Oh my gosh, I would be so upset! I did not allow Tessa to bite like that mother did!! To just say "we don't bite"?? That's nuts! Your poor baby!!

Oh, my!! That is terrible!! I would have been tempted to discipline that child myself!! (though I think I would've resisted...). I'm sure that did nothing to better your relationship with that mom! Poor baby!!

I was really going back and forth with the whole character meal thing a week ago or so and then we tried to get one and couldn't. But today I had a grand idea  and asked DH to call about a day that I hadn't considered before but that after some thougt really would work. And we got one!!! :woohoo: Lydia has been really into Cinderella lately, but I knew that the Castle meal would be impossible to get. But now we're going to see her at the 1900 Park Fare!!! :yay: So we have an ADRs at 6:45, and I hope we'll have eaten by the time my munchkins turn into pumpkins (pardon the pun... ). It would be great if we were done eating and outside by 8pm so we could catch the fireworks from the dock!! :cloud9: Not sure if that's even a possibility, though.
Anyways, I'm just SOOOO excited!!!!

i'm here, i am reading, and its fabulous
yeah 1900 park faire is the most fun ever, i just love me some evil stepsisters and cinderella and her prince are pretty cool too.your kiddos are so cute. and as far as strollers go i too am an addict
peg perego when ds was born, then 3 different umbrellas, then when dd was born an inglesina with a carrycot attachment, then a sit and stand , a side by side and yet another umbrella, and no on my last trip i didnt bring any, i rented a city mini double jogger (love , love love it) from orlando stroller rentals. now i want a single version of that but i must stop myself because dd 2 1/2 hardly rides in a stroller ( she thinks she is such a big girl) anyway i cant wait to hear more and i love the bathing suit, i love the flowers too.

My instinct was to yell at the mother but I resisted the overwhelming urge to do so. To this day everytime I see her, we live in a pretty small town, I cringe!

Yipppeeeee!!! Your going to have so much fun!!! DD and I had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on her birthday in March and it was very nice. How cool that she's going to get to see Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Stepmother and Stepsister!!!!You do get that at the castle! If you have time definitely try to get to the dock to see Wishes! It's beautiful from there!

Hi and thanks for reading!! :) We're really looking forward to our meal. I have to agree that my kids are cute, but I think I'm probably a bit biased! :rotfl: So fun to "meet" a fellow stroller affecionado! ;) What type of Peg Perego did you have? Was the Inglesina the Zippy? That one looks really cool. I don't think I've really seen the city mini jogger at all. I'll have to look that one up! :thumbsup2

Yes, we are VERY excited that she gets to meet Cinderella as she is one of her favourites!!! :yay: It would've been sad if she went on her Wish Trip and wasn't able to meet Cinderella. But now she is!! :woohoo:

The Grandparents have now booked their tickets!!!! :woohoo: :yay: They'll arrive Sunday night and leave Wednesday morning. It'll be so good to have them there to share our experience with and to help out with the little ones. We're hoping that Tuesday night can be date night for me and DH. I'm trying to figure out what we should do... :confused3 I've thought of going to HS to see Fantasmic and maybe go for ice cream afterwards. We'd probably pick up some food in the park on our way in and eat it while waiting for the show. I was looking into doing the dinner package thing. Does anyone have any experience with that? Does it really shorten your wait and how early do you have to be there? I'd really love to see Fantasmic and our kids are a little too cautious for it and we're not going to HS as a family. But Tuesday night would work for us to see it if the Grandparents watch the kiddos. Tuesday is Nickelodeon night so we'll miss out on that but I think Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy it. :)

Our Wish coordinator emailed today and let us know that she has tickets for us to go see the Thomas and Friends Live show on a week!!!! :woohoo: That'll be so much fun!!! We're leaving "the Bias" (Lydia used to call him that when he was a newborn) at home with a sitter as I think he'll get too antsy during the hour and a half long show. ;) But I think Lydia will love it! :lovestruc

I find it so amazing what the Wish Organizations do for us! Kids that have suffered so much, more than most adults, get to experience some pure joy... :goodvibes It helps me believe that there's still good in this world! :)

We got a DVD that we ordered off ebay today: the Disney World Campout Sing-along. Lydia was watching it earlier, quite in awe. :rotfl: I think it's good for her to get some perspective on how big the characters really are. ;)

I'm just enjoying some quiet time after finally putting the kids to bed. They've both got a cold - again! Lydia's colds ALWAYS turn into some sort of infection and breathing issues, but I hope that won't be the case this time. Well, I better go. I think there's some strawberry cheesecake ice cream calling my name! ;)

How cool about the Thomas show! I think the fantasmic dinner would be a great date night. I've never seen Fantasmic, though. So, I don't know if you can trust my judgement.

Do you have the Disneyland Fun sing-a-long? Sawyer watched it over and over and over again for months before we went to Disney!

I think you and DH would have a great time do dinner and Fantasmic! We did the package with Hollywood and Vine last trip. It was ok, but regular Disney buffet food. For grownups you may try Brown Derby. I've heard many good things about their food! When we did the package we got there a little later then recommended, we miss judged how long the great movie ride takes, and there were still seats reserved and lots of seat in the stadium. I didn't get to see Fantasmic though! DS was sick, so him and I left!

Having an extra pair of hand or 2 on a WDW trip is soooo helpful! We've always gone with MIL and FIL and I can't tell you how much easier it's made things! Our January trip is the first time we're going without them! :scared1:

The Thomas show sounds like so much fun!! We LOVE Thomas in this house!! They didn't have the show close enough for us to go :( But, we're going to a Day Out With Thomas in a few weeks for the third time! I actually just finished making DS a pair of Thomas pants (I'll post a pic in PTR)

We have the campout sing along and the summertime one. The kiddos love to watch them and point out sights etc. DH, who trys to fake he's not into WDW sometimes, even got into it last time they watched them :lmao: If I only had the video camera out! Him sitting there with the kids staring at the TV going, "Hey honey, is that....!?" and "hey, that's....!" Too funny!

I hope little ones feel better  and I hope you enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake!! Hmmmmm, do you think I can get away with cheescake for breakfast?! :rolleyes1

:

my peg perego was a martinelli.. i loved the handle on that one .. it flipped back and forth so the baby could look out or at you also perfect for keeping the sun out

as for the inglesina i had the swift umbrella first and now i have the zippy.. i got to use the little carrycot attachment for such a short time but i loved it and people alway stopped to admire it.

definitely check out the city mini it is so much fun to push.. so easy

have fun with thomas... that should be awesome
