Ok, after a year of planning this trip it is finally here and I feel so unprepared! I do have a basic plan of which parks which days and ADRs but I have absolutely no plan for what to do during the course of each day. I've signed up for the plans on touringplans.com and I have the UOG but I just can't seem to bring myself to do anymore planning! I think I've already burned myself out with all the planning to this point! I can't even bring myself to try and get the table for 5 again at LeCellier. Heck, I can't even decide if I want to eat at 'Ohana one night or see the Osborne Lights. :sad2:

So, should I just go with what little plan I have to this point or bury my nose in the UOG and fire up the printer for those plans! :confused3

Help give me some sort of direction!

Take a deep breath, and just let go. Keep in mind that even the best of plans is only good until the moment you arrive on-site.

If you don't want to plan the day ride by ride don't do it. Instead write down the three or four attractions you really want to see at each park and just have fun.

that sounds like good advice to me :)

We have always had each person in the party pick the 2 things in each park they don't want to miss and play it all by ear. You can not possibly plan every ride. What if one is down or the wait is impossibly long. Just have your list, relax, don't miss the small things and HAVE FUN!!

The last two or three years I have gotten into a state where I am hoping the up coming trip would already be over. I guess for someone who has been there so many times I guess some of the majic has dulled altittle. When I get there I feel better and after it is over I can't believe it is. What you need to do is find out what everyone wants to ride on and do it. The rest will play by ear. Don't go into the parks with a rush about everything but a layed back attitude and it will be alot more fun for you.

I feel just as you do. We have two weeks to go and I feel like I want it to be over all ready. How sad is that? I have planned this trip since Sept. of 2004 and in the last 2 months our lives have been so stressful with health issues and family issues and yet I decided to keep the trip planned for my children. We have not been to WDW in 6 years and I planned that trip to the minute and we had a wonderful time. I am now two weeks out and I still cannot seem to come up with a definative plan. I have ADR's and park days so I guess I will just go with the flow. I so desperately need this trip to be good...too much pressure ya' think?
Thanks for letting me vent in your thread :) Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and sounds like we should take the others advice.

Me too!! I also joined the touringplans thing but I'm not sure how much is too much planning....I don't want to miss something fabulous BUT I don't want to drive myself and everyone else crazy either. I like the idea of everyone picking a few "must sees" and then sort of winging it, sounds like a plan! Good luck and hope you have great trip!

Exactly! Take a deep breath and relax. If you know which park... a few must do's and one ADR per day you are ready!

"There's no way you will see it all in one trip, so just decide to enjoy every moment!"
This was the best advise I got on our first trip and it was steller!

HAVE FUN! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!
(I'll be the one with the lime green ribbon!)

Thanks for all the calming words. We will have 3 days in MK (2 regular and 1 MVMCP) as well as a day in Epcot and MGM. I'm sure we will be able to do everything we want (except maybe CP.)

I guess with all the stress of the holidays as well as the trip, I just feel like being lazy and not thinking about much!

I'm sure we will have a great time no matter what! How couldn't we - we will be in DISNEY WORLD

We did pretty much what everyone is saying. We had our park days planned and a few ADRs. Then we had our must sees for each park. After we did our must sees, we found a quiet place and a snack and pulled out the UOG to see what else we would like to do.

First of all BREATHE and stop to enjoy these last few weeks, the anticipation is part of the fun, maybe do some fun, non planning activities with the family. Watch some Disney movies you may not have seen, we watched Swiss Family Robinson. You know when you get there every thing will not go exactly according to plan and you want to have your schedule open enough that you can bend and not break. Have fun!

I havent been to DW in a couple of years, after going every year for 15 years! Hadn't planned on "planning" anything, but I see by looking at these threads they are taping the parade. I definitley don't want to go to MK that day. So I guess I will just kinda plan which parks for which days. Can someone please tell me what UOG is? Thanks, Elaien

UOG = Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World

I am also almost at the one week point and unprepared as well. I do have our ADR's, tours, and MVMCP tickets all set. As far as touring and such, we tend to just play if by ear more than anything. I will be rereading some of the UG just for fun on the flight down, but more to get excited than anything.

We leave next Friday. I have a plan of what parks we're going to do most days. We have MVMCP tickets but no ADR's. Some days, or parts of days, I'm leaving open to see what things we might want to do again or if there's something we missed. Besides that, I think I know what we'll try to do first thing, like Soarin or the safari ride. Just trying to hit the biggies early before it gets crowded. Other than that, we'll wing it. We've never been there this time of year, and we're not really sure what to expect crowd-wise. I also don't want to be a schedule nazi and drive my kids nuts. I figure it's all about the magic. And December at Disney World is going to be magical! :cloud9:

I'm actually in the same boat as you (no real plans) but in my case, this is deliberate. I have to say, it's driving me nuts!! :earseek: In the past years, I had daily schedules figured out months before we left...had all my PSs lined up...everything. Well, our relaxing family vacation was more like "Disney, Commando-Style"....and not all the "troops" were happy little soldiers. :confused3 After DH's cancer battle last year, we are taking time to stop and smell the roses!!

This year, I have not made ONE ADR. Aside from making a note of the hours in my Passporter, who has the EMHs and my MVMCP, I am "flying by the seat of my pants". This is so unlike me and I feel kind of unprepared...although I have been to WDW about 14 times. :rolleyes1 Maybe I can plan your days??!! :hyper: I need a fix!! :teeth:
