A week somewhere in Nth Am... but where?

Alternative suggestion - 5 days you could do a driving tour around the Utah national parks (Zion, Bryce canyon etc) on to Monument Valley and The Grand Canyon. Easily done from Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. The fall is a fabulous time around there and they run kids programs in the National parks.
The Southwest is spectacularly beautiful :)

Thanks Andona! That IS a great suggestion, but I only know this because we did almost exactly that on our last trip in 2012 :) We did LV - Zion - Bryce Canyon - Antelope Canyon - Grand Canyon - Monument Valley - Canyon De Chelley - Sedona - Tucson, before heading west to San Diego and then to Anaheim.

I'm still not sure what we'll end up doing. I think it'll be one of the following:

- A few more days in Florida (most likely as path of least resistance)
- An additional shorter cruise (maybe a 4-night Bahamas) to go with our 7-night Caribbean
- A few days in LA/Anaheim/Disneyland
- A few days in San Diego
- A few days in NYC

Lol, So I was preaching to the converted! :rotfl: I'm glad you've already visited the Southwest, it's probably one of my favourite parts of the country - although the Rocky Mountains are amazing too :goodvibes

All your plans sound like a fantastic way to use your extra time, not an easy choice! Good luck :)

Oh I agree - you get some of the most dramatic landscapes possible in the southwest!! Just beautiful. I think this time with a 2-year-old in tow we might skip the national parks. Last time we did it with a very very patient 4 year old.

Those are all great choices, but if it was me, I'd pick the extra cruise. I think you'll appreciate the extra down time in what is quite a long itinerary.

New York. New York. New York.
It's my favourite place in the world to travel to. Takes forever coming from Aus, but so worth it!

It's one of my options, but will be tough convincing wifey to go - she thinks it will be too tough with young kids, and would prefer to go to NYC once the kids are a bit older. It was tough enough to get her to agree to Orlando, with the additional flights required to get to the east coast :)
