A Wedding, a Disneymoon, and drama included free of charge! A Dec 09 TR* UPDATE 8/17!

Up early today for a Doc. appt. hopefully my blood sugar has been cooperating! Anyways, I have to admit I would much rather be up early for a rope drop :lmao:

In other news: DH and I are currently living with my parents. My uncle has not moved out of his house yet (and we have not heard anything from him). June 1st was the promised date. Well it has come and no word. I do refuse to pay rent for June if we cannot be in within the next week. I don't care if he is family or not lol.

Hopefully today after my doc appt I can get an update done. Yesterday I had planned to do one but with the moving drama (we were suppossed to be able to move in) and needing to get out of the house for a few hours before I went off the deep end, it slipped my mind. So here is hoping for today!

Have a great day and I hope everyone had an awesome Memorial Day!

I hope all goes well at your doctor's appointment today! I re-read your last update about trying to get separated from the high school kids on ToT! :rotfl2: Funny....There is nothing worse that a group of HS students screaming in your ear during a ride!

Awesome doc appt! my A1c went from 6.7 6 months ago to 6.2! I know. i was desperately hoping to get rid of them and seriously can close to telling the CM to please seperate us! They were the only people I can remember that annoyed me the whole trip!

We headed back to the hotel for a few to freshen up and get ready to head to DTD for our dinner at Raglan Road. I was really looking forward to this meal, and even more excited that the night was going to be clear!
DSC01068.jpg

We didnt wait long for our table. We had the salt and pepper calimari as an appetizer and I had the fish and chips. DH had the "its not bleeding chowder" and a Guinness, I had a bud light. No pictures, but the food was execellent!

I for the life of me cannot remember dessert. I do know that for some reason I didnt finish much of my dinner. Was hungry when I ordered, but not once I started eating, if that makes sense! But it was good!

After dinner we strolled around DTD some more.
DSC01065.jpg

These guys (gals?) were pretty entertaining!

I bought a hat at DTD, and DH bought a pin set. I really wanted the Dooney wristlet, but decided to wait until later in the trip to see if I still wanted it.

We headed back to our resort and after our nightly routine of browsing the gift shop, refilling our mugs, we were in for the night. We had a big day planned for tomorrow!

Up bright and early for Animal Kingdom! I was super excited for this park. It had not been built when I came on my wish trip, and I love animals. I also love roller coasters so EE was calling my name!

No bus stop pics this morning. We were rather optimistic with out attire though. It was suppossed to be in the upper 60's today. We decided to wear shorts and T's. A mother and daughter in front of us at the bus stop had on sweatshirts, jeans, the works. We struck a conversation and learned they were from Texas and were freezing. Us Northerners were loving this warm weather. Granted it was in the low 50's at the bus stop, we were sure it would warm up. Espeically with the reputation AK has for being a hot park.

This park at EMH. I bet we arrived around 830. We headed straight back to the safari. We only had about a 10 min wait before boarding our safari vehicle. The safari was awesome! I won't bore you will a 100 pics. Only one good one!
DSC01263.jpg

We headed towards Asia after our 2 week ride was cut short. Look who we saw along the way...
DSC01147.jpg

Devine! Very cool!

Asia was next! I know we grabbed some fries on our way. What a great breakfast :lmao:. Finally I reached EE and rode in the single rider line. By a twist of Disney Magic i was seated with a woman about my moms age. She was with her husband and daughter. I explained that my DH didnt do rollar coasters. We had an awesome ride together! I jumped over to the fastpass lines right after and ended up in line behind my ride partners. After their fast passes came out, 2 extras came out. He grabbed them, turned around and handed them to me! Awesome pixie dust! Now i have 3 Fast passes to use!

Dinoland was next. We didnt do anything here. Looked around mostly. I do regret not riding Dinosaur, and cannot remember why we didnt. Most likely because we were hungry. We headed to Flame Tree BBQ. I was really looking forward to this after all the awesome reviews! It did not dissappoint! I had the pulled pork sandwich and DH had the chicken. I espeically liked the seating areas. Well shaded, not crowded together, and really serene. We found a table with an awesome view of EE, and beside a water feature. The ducks however, would not leave us alone. They were pretty aggressive lol!

We went back towards the tree of life after lunch. Here is out photopass photog. pic.
DSC01153.jpg

At this point we wondered back to camp minnie mickey.
DSC01214.jpg

We had no intentions of seeing any shows in the park. DH didnt really express any interest, and since this was our only AK day, I wanted to get the other stuff done. We decided at this point that we were cold. Chilly. We were going to make the trip back to the resort to change into some warmer clothes since we were intending on staying at the park a little longer. Back to the bus stop we went. We took this picture on the way out.
DSC01224.jpg

It was amazing the temperature difference once we got back to the resort. It was at least 5 degrees warmer. I put on jeans and a sweatshirt jacket, and DH put on jeans. We headed back to AK and were much more comfortable. It is amazing. I can see how this park would hold onto the heat, but it also succeeded in holding onto the morning chill. It never got above about 60 degrees. I wanted to ride Kali, but we decided not to so we wouldnt freeze all day!

ITTBAB was next. It was a super cute show! We both loved it! We went to use our fast passes for the safari that we had grabbed after our first ride. This one was ok. We had a much better guide the first time, and I think we had better animal views. I went over and used my second fast pass of EE. Still just as fun as the first time, and my seat mate was very nice!
DSC01328.jpg

DSC01342.jpg

My seat mate and I both are wearing white, and very excited! :rotfl2:

I used my 3rd fastpass, had another great ride, and decided to give my 4th fast pass to the girl I had ridden with. She was pretty excited! It felt good to pass along some of my own pixie dust!

DH had grabbed a fastpass while he was waiting for me to ride so I could keep one as a souvineer. I wanted Icecream from the ice cream truck. We waited probably 2o mins for 2 waffle cones. They were worth it! We were ready to leave the park for the day. We had a ADR to get to, and wanted to have plenty of time to get there. Mickeys Jingle Jungle Parade was in full swing as we were leaving. We caught a few of the last floats before heading out. We had a great AK day! 3 rides on EE, 2 KS, ITTBAB, We did the Pagagni Trail, and had an awesome lunch, all before 4 pm!

DSC01298.jpg

Where are my eyes? lol

Next: Le cellier...Epcot, and will we make our ADR?!?

What a fabulous day at AK! I'm so glad y'all had such a great day. Next time you have to try the shows especially Festival of the Lion King.

Can't wait to read about your dinner. Le Cellier is one of my favorites.

It was a great day! The weather was perfect. I would rather have had to go back to the resort to put warmer clothes on then try to find a place to get out of sweltering heat!

I do want to try more shows next time...

Mmmmmm Le Cellier.....

You did have a great day! So glad you got to ride EE so many times. Your picture was so good!

I loved EE! It did get my stomach the first time since I wasnt expecting the backwards part, but after the first ride, it was no problem!

DH took about 100 pics in a row trying to get that perfect shot! He did a great job, and he also took a really cute video!

Hopefully I can get on tonite or early tomorrow to post. Lots going on around here lately. Forgive me? Again! :lmao:

Finally! I know but (since I am usually full of excuses, now is no exception lol) I really did have a ton going on. There was a major shake up in my department at the hotel which led to more hours (which is good for the wallet, bad for my mental health lol), my aunt passed away in June very suddenly, and it hit me very hard, she was one of my favorite family members (if I'm allowed to have a fav), DH got a full time job and therefore we all went thru another shift change, we finally had our wedding reception 2 weekends ago, and I started helping out a friend who opened a restaurant here in town, OH and we moved! Very insane. BUT back to your TR!

Disclaimer: I dont seem to have any pictures for this nite????

I left you and we had just left AK! We headed back to the resort for our daily nap/relaxaion time. We had a late ADR at Le Cellier! I decided since I loved the boats so much, and since our arrival night snafoo with transportation, realized how close the international gateway at EP is to Le cellier, I decided I wanted to try the boats again. We bussed to HS, and had to wait for 2 boats before boarding. We were really cutting it close. Finally we were able to board, and got to sit outside on the back of the vessel. It was a somewhat stressful ride since we were close on time, but I still love those darn boats!

We checked into Le Cellier with about 1 minute to spare! We were seated within about 2 mintues and realized how cool this restaurant was. Very dark, which i expected, but awesome! We ordered the cheese soup, and were brought out bread. Lets just say I could have eaten just pretzel bread and soup and been completely content. :thumbsup2 MMMM..

I ordered the filet and risotto, and DH ordered a steak with a coffee rub. Mine was amazing, his, not so much. His steak was very tough and full of gristle. OUr waitress was good, perhaps trying too hard to entertain us, but good. DH complained a few times about the steak, and was met with pertty much a blank stare the whole time. The only response he ever got was "I let the chef know". Ok......:confused3

We left the restaurant with out chocolate mousse to go, and waited a few moments to watch Illuminations!

It was pretty awesome! We left about mid-way thru to head towards the busses. We had an early morning planned and wanted to avoid a large bus wait. We had no wait for a bus and were back to our resort quickly and turned in for the evening!

Next: pictures! :lmao:, a Magical Morning, and an AMAZING lunch!

Exciting news!!!!!! Maybe :lmao:

I just booked us for a 5 night 6 day stay from Nov.29th to Dec 4th. The Details:

Pop Century
Free dining (I upgraded to DDP from QSDP)
6 day park hoppers
ME transportation

Grand total for 2 adults?

$1179!!!

I can also get airfare for around $300 :woohoo: Super excited.

Now heres the problem.

We will most likely have to cancel. I know that I can get time off work. If I am still at the hotel then (i pray that I am not, but we'll see) then I have vacation days coming my way. DH is another story. Remember that "new job" he got at the beginning of July. Well its not a new job at all. It is a full time police dispatcher job that he has had for 6 years, working part time. He already had his 1 year of probation, and has around 80 hours of sick time accrued. However since the department is so unorganized and plays by the double standard rule (what applies to one dispatcher doesnt to another) he is having to serve another 1 years worth of probation. I am so frustrated by this. I told him he should be able to use some of hhis sick hours then, but wouldnt get paid. we could deal with that. He said it wouldnt work because he would need a doc note. Well this is where the dbl standard kicks in. The 1st shift dispatcher never works a full work week, is always out and never gets in trouble. Where is the fairness? So why did I book you ask?

Dh may be getting a new job (god willing!) at the University in our town. He would have vacation time to use then. We are also going to try to convince the sargent at the PD to give DH some time off. He is one of our good friends, but its still a long shot. I wanted to go ahead and book since we had to book by the 14th for free dining. I have until Oct. 14th to cancel.

Im excited, but guarded about it. I really want to go. I was pricing this for next dec (2011) and got pretty discouraged with the changes, and with free dining most likely being out of the question if they are doing away with big discounts. Next year for only 1 more night it was going to cost around 1700 plus airfare. bummer. So justincase a miracle occurs, we are booked! Im debating on getting the airfare since I know the prices will probably sky rocket, but at least we have enough to cover disney, and can worrry about airfare later. Lets all say a little prayer! :goodvibes

Another possible change!

I (with the help of a scheming co-worker :lmao:) came up with a plan. Insted of doing a monday-sat. where DH would have to get 5 shifts covered in 1 week, possibly making the department pay another dispatcher overtime (since they are understaffed, but thats their own fault). I thought we could do a Thursday-Tuesday. I put in the dates of 12/2 (our anniversary!) to 12/7. This only leaves 2 shifts 1 week and 2 shifts another that would need to be covered, and may let him use sick time.

I thought at one time he may have told me that he was allowed to take sick time as long as it wasnt so many hours in a row. Well considering in 6 YEARS he has NEVER taken a sick day, I think he should be able to use some. This is IF he is still at the PD by then and does not get a University position. If he gets the university position then he will only be using 4 vacay days insted of 5. Win win!

I just informed him (via text) that I booked Disney, but still could change to these dates if necessary. We would have to give up POP for ASMu, and its going to be about $12 (:rotfl2:) more expensive. I think I can swing that lol

Airfare has went up by about $80, but I expected that. I'm thinking it was only so cheap before because it was a fare sale day with Southwest, so I will continue to watch it. Does anyone know if I cancel flights, will SW give acct. credit for future use? Just in case :thumbsup2

Wish us luck!

Our last morning we were spending at MK. We decided that we had been here several times, but never got much accomplished. So we were going to devote some serious time.
Before leaving the resort, looking thru our ME paperwork :sad2:
DSC01377.jpg

The park seemed pretty deserted when we arrived, so it must have been around park opening. We headed to adventure land first, since we always seemed to hit up tomorrowland every other visit.

DSC01385.jpg

the khaki shorts were a bad choice. lol i looks like I'm not wearing pants! :lmao:
Jungle Cruise was first. It was cute, the jokes were ok :goodvibes
DSC01390.jpg

It was a complete walk on. Next up, a ride I had not even seen the entrance or que for yet. Pirates!
Another walk on! It was super fun! We never got to ride this back on my Wish trip. It was under refurb then. DH almost freaked out at the drop (remember he haaaates them!), but crisis was averted and he really liked the ride!

after pirates we walked back to BTMRR. I hadent got to ride yet. I really wanted DH to try this one. I rode it by myself first, then told him how fun it was! We walked back to where you can see the track and was convincing him there were no big drops, it was mostly just fast! I looked over and a dad was having the same exact conversation with his 4 year old son! :rotfl2: DH knew I had him then and would never let him live it down if he didnt at least try it! We got Fastpasses for later!

DH really wanted to watch HoP, so we waited about 10 mins for the next showing. It surprised me. I was moved to tears by the show. :goodvibes

After HoP we needed a snack. We found a spot in front of pooh and I got in line for a pretzel!
DSC01415.jpg

We watched these guys from our table!

While eating our pretzel, at a outdoor seating area clearly meant for eating, a family came up and grabbed the table beside us. This is where it happened, one of the most disrespectful moments of the whole trip. A grandma and gpa were with 3 grandkids. The one little girl was at least 2, possibly close to 3. The grandma was flipping out on the kids for something, then grabs the little girl, plops her up on the table (used by other guests for eating) and proceeds to change a dirty diaper. A VERY dirty diaper. Now I have no sense of smell, its a long story lol, but I was the lucky one to witness this with my own eyes, but since DH back was turned all he could do was smell. He was livid. I felt bad for the little girl because you could tell she was embarassed to be out in front of ppl, and the grandma was manhandling her trying to change her diaper. Just a bad situation all around. We quickly gathered our things and left. Now I know I dont have kids, but come one, she could have found a restroom to change her! :sad2:

Soon after we finished our lunch we leisurely strolled to the front of the park. We had an ADR for lunch at Sanaa and I knew I wanted to explore a little, plus, Kidani is quite a ways from MK!

On our way to the AKL bus stop there was an ambulance stopped and a few EMT's standing around. DH of course had to stop and chat!
DSC01480.jpg

Waiting on the bus! It was quick, and we were off to our lunch ADR!

Next: Lunch at Sanaa, and the rest of our last day!

Great news on booking another trip!

I can't believe how empty the park looks. I really lilke Adventureland. On the first trip I took the older kids we didn't make it there until the end of the day so we only got to do JC and POtC. On our first family trip in 2002 we started at Adventureland.

I really hope you get DH on BTMR. So cute he couldn't say no if the 4 year old wouldn't say no.

Looking forward to your dinner.

Yes! DH is suppossed to find out if he can try to switch some shifts around. I told him I wouldnt be mad if he couldnt, all I wanted him to do was try. I know I'll be bummed, but what can you do?

I was really on a mission to get the things done we had just walked by before! BTMRR was such a fun time, I tell that little story to everyone, much to DH pleasure :rotfl2:

When we went in 2004 my youngest was 4. She was trilled when she passed the height requirement for Test Track and rode it. After that she thought she could do anything. The next morning we went to DHS. We were planning to ride TOT while she sat with DH ( he has a fear of heights). She insisted on riding and did. After that was teased DH because at 4 she would ride but he wouldn't. On our next trip in 2006 he rode it so we couldn't tease him anymore.

Haha toooo funny! I just wish DH would try it once, then if he didnt like it, then I wouldnt make him ride again. Thats what I tried to tell him but he wasnt having it. I really think he would enjoy EE and maybe even RcnRC. I'll try again next time! :thumbsup2
