A Walk in Walt's Footsteps - Tour Review

I did this tour in 2006 and i loved loved loved it!!!

thanks Nikki! we just booked our tour and are doing it on 9/11 at 9:30am- mom, cousin and me and my 2 sisters. can't wait. we are coming in 9/10 (my bday!)- throug the 13th. first time back in over 20 years.

Glad you liked it. We went on this in 2006 as well and really enjoyed it, although we just got to see the lobby of Club 33, Lucky! Can't wait to get back to DLR!

Very interesting. When we went on the tour in 2005 they didn't have the accompanying audio from Walt, that sounds like a great addititon. Another difference is that we had lunch where Billy Hill and the Hillbillies do their act, which was very funny. Thanks for the review.

To clarify, we toured the outside and all of the lobby. We did spend a good deal of time in there. The guide did not have us rush and we were able to look around at everything which was nice.

The audio makes a world of difference!

I've heard that the meal and/or location has changed quite a bit. It is even different from the one posted on the DIS right now because it has been updated.

When we did this tour several years ago you ate where Walt's 2nd apt was. It was up by the art gallery. It is now the Dream Suite.

That's were we had lunch too!!
Loved that place.
We sat out at the Patio in the middle of DL and so quiet and relaxed...
I learned then and there that i love cheesecake.

I'm confused. I don't remember seeing an art gallery by the Dream Suite? We went to see the outside of the suite a few times including on the tour and it's above Pirates. Where was the gallery?

Very nicely written, Nikki. I had goosebumps and tears throughout the tour. It is a must do! The food was great- we wanted to hunt the bread down and bring it home. The tour guide was indeed very informative. I rate it an 11 out of 10.

I believe the art gallery was where the Dream Suite in now. I remember walking up the curved stairs above Pirates to the art gallery. I think they remodeled it for the Year of a Million Dreams promotion.

The gallery is where the Dream Suite is now. We got to see Walt's kitchen in this area.

Ohh, very cool. I wish they brought us up in the suite. No one was staying there so that would have been a neat touch to the tour.

I also did the tour last February 2009. It was my niece's birthday present. She had the choice of the tour, eating at Blue Bayou, or a massage at the Grand Californian. I thought for sure she was going to pick the BB. But she wanted to do the tour. It was great. She still makes fun of me for crying!

I loved the review! This looks like an excellent tour, I hope to be able to do it someday.

I was on the April 2010 DIS ABD Backstage Magic tour and fell in love with Disneyland...so much so that I had to sign the April 2011 tour!
