SO I am thinking I should have posted this here in Fmailies

OK so I have made up my mind and I am getting the volvo for my 5 yr old since I am planning to sell it when we get back.

My question is should i get the Triumph or pay the extra $ for the Quest for my 2 yr old. Is there really that big of a difference between the two?

Thanks so much for your input...I feel I can't make up my mind about anything lately without consulting

I would suggest the Maclaren Quest. You can find through babydealz.com for $140 delivered the blue fleur model. I've used babydealz before and had no problems.

Much better than the triumph model, and you can actually add a carry strap if you want.

Your 5 year old can sit in the quest.

There doesn't seem to be much difference and I found a great deal on a Triumph...What is different that makes the Quest better or is it just quality?

Quest just has a much more padded and more comfortable seat. Has the seat extender and seat seems much deeper than triumph model. It really is a much better seat than the triumph. I would spend the extra $20, especially if you have a 2 year old. You'll get a lot of use out of it. And it only weighs 1-2 lbs more than the triumph.

As for the carry strap, I just attached a strap from a duffle bag and it works just fine. I didn't actually buy one, but I have heard you can order one from combi?? not sure.

I believe the quest also has a bit higher weight limit....both of my girls use the volos....one is almost 5 years old now and the stroller is still going strong!!! Get what you think is best for you !!!! With a Maclaren, you will be fine regardless! :thumbsup2

I am so happy! I got the Quest 2006 in MOD pink -I LOVE the pattern - for 137.00 shipped! It seemed like a good price...although I am sure I'll now see it cheaper

Anyway thanks for all the advice. I went ahead and spent the extra $28 for the Quest!

Now just one more question...Is there another brand that has strollers that hold the larger child...50lbs? I am looking for something cheaper than the volvo for my DH5 since she won't use it anywhere but Disney.

volo holds up to 55 lbs as do all the Maclarens

Thanks :goodvibes
Are there any cheaper brands out there that hold this weight? My dd5 will only use it for WDW....I had to talk her into it.... she refuses to use it anywhere else so I hate to spend the cash on the Volo.

maclarens are the only strollers I know of that go to 55 lbs. I am thrilled with my Quest BTW. I paid 180 for mine so you got a great deal.

Think about the rental fees on how much they are and you can pay for a volo with that and what you could sell it for when you get home.

I've been looking at the Quest strollers also and I have a question maybe you can help me with.

In the description of the stroller, it says it has a removable/washable seat. Is that like a seat pad and underneath is a mesh seat like the volo's have? I guess what I really want to know is if the stroller can be used without that seat pad. If that's what it is?

no it is not like the volo. you can;t use the stroller without the padded seat that you can remove to wash.

I am totally confused...

We are flying, leaving Sat morning. The only stores I can get to are Target and TRU. Target has the Volvo, mesh grey for $99. TRU has a bigger selection.

What is better for 5yr old & very small 8yr old to share, each under 55lbs.

Volvo
Quest
Triumph

Again, cannot have shipped because I need it now, of course.

Thank you in advance for any information.

I only got the Quest becuase my two year old will need itto nap in and I figured we would get a lot of use out of it in the future.

I think the volo is a great stroller and I am getting it for my 5 yr old. She is about 50 lbs and would never be seen in a stroller...unless of course we are at DIsney. becuase "strollers are for babies" is what she told me last year when she was 4 :rolleyes1 This year she says she may want to use a stroller then she won't be so tired atthe end of the day and she'll get to swim more!!!! Saying I told you so to a five year old means nothing so I just laughed!!

Anyway I would get the volo if you are just getting for WDW.
BTW when I was at BRU last week they had these coupon books "summer passport to saving" at the check out and it had %15 off one item during 7/23 -7/29 (which doesn't really help you), but they also had a coupon in the book for TRU 5.00 off your purchase of $25 7/16-7/29

I hope this helps you out! Have fun at WDW!!

I ordered the Quest Mod (pink fleur) from albeebaby.com for $120 shipped a couple of months ago. I bought it for our DD due in a few weeks. I also have a volo for our small DD8 that she used on our last two Disney trips only. I would suggest if you get the Volo to hold onto it. I thought I would resell mine too when I got back, but DD used it at 7 and 8 yrs too and you may need it for future trips since your oldest is only 5. It worked out much cheaper for us to buy the Volo (I got mine for $68 shipped a couple of years ago) then to rent.
I think one of the differences between the Quest and the Triumph is that the Quest actually has different reclining positions while the Triumph has a snap like mechanism that only reclines to one other position. You snap it up to sit up and unsnap it to recline. I LOVE our Volo and cant wait to use the Quest with the new baby. Once you use a Mac you wont go back to anything else!!
There just arent any other strollers meant to hold kids up to 55-65 pounds. The cheap umbrella strollers just buckle under the weight of an older child and end up being trashed. The Macs have a frame that just wont give!!

Thanks so much! I keep telling myself and my DH that I am going to sell it when I get back! BUT You are right I will most likely end up keeping the volo too! I think right now I am just trying to make myself feel better about all the money I spend before we go! My DH says I spend more getting ready for the trip then I do on stuff when we are there...but isn't that the point? I know I am saving money this way somehow!!

I guess I'll wait untill my BRU coupon is good and getthe volo there. I'll have to keep my eyes out to see if I can get it cheaper before that! I think with the coupon I can getthe volo for 85 + tax.

I have lost count of how many strollers I have purchase and then a month later hated..... so I am looking forward to the Quest!

Now I am off to try and sell my combi and my Sit N Stand...see I know I am going to keep that volo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harmoniebreeze...I just found a Volo stroller on clearance through babyride.com. It was 79.99 with 6.95 shipping. There is also 5.00 off any 50.00 purchase with the code Fireworks07. I think the code is good till the end of July. The total came to 81.74.

Just thought I would pass it along :goodvibes

WOW thank you so much!

That is a great price! It was really sweet of you to share the info!
The DIS is SO Awesome!!

bump......

Would you all agree that the Volvo grey mesh one is going to be a good choice for WDW for a 40lb 5 yr old, and sometimes used by 50lb tiny 8 yr old DDs?

I guess I cannot get past the "mesh" part.

I would rather have a pink one or one that looks prettier - LOL!
But it seems that the Target one for $99.00 is my only choice right now.

Thougths?
