We were leaving MGM and ran to catch the boat at the friendship dock. We were an arms lenghth from the gate and the attendant closed the gate in front of us. Well, of course we know that could, and does happen to everyone sometime.
Naturally we were disappointed and looked at our watch and wondered what time the next boat would arrive.
There was a really nice boat waiting on the side and when the friendship pulled away the boat pulled along side the dock and dropped off 2 people that had just viewed illuminations. The boat captain came over and asked us if we were going to the Yacht Club and offered to take us over with him. He said, we'll even beat that boat that just left you standing at the dock! And we did, and we felt like royalty! It was the thrill of our trip.
