A Very Magical Graduation Trip *Completed*

Those Mickey rice krispy treats are HUGE!! We messed up on our first trip- we thought you could make your own and do use the credits… but you can't. :( So we had to buy THREE of them and thus have 3 extra credits. :sad2: Oh well! It all worked out!!

Fantasmic looks like a great show!!

We woke up they next morning and I was ready to begin our last park day, even though I wished we were staying another week or so. :rotfl: Dad said he felt better today, still not the greatest, but he decided to come with us and would come back to the room if he starting feeling sick again. Mom started packing while I showered and got ready.

We headed over to River Mill to get breakfast, and since there were suitcases and clothes spread across the bed we put the do not disturb sign on the door so Mousekeeping wouldn't come in to clean before we finished eating and had a chance to pick up our stuff. On out way out the door, we bumped into our Mousekeeper and she asked if we no longer wanted Moousekeeping services since we put the sign up for the second day in a row. Mom explained to her that we were packing and just put the sign up while we went to breakfast and told her that Dad was sick yesterday, which is way the sign was up all day. We talked a little while longer and she told Dad that it must have been horrible to be stuck in the room all day while we were at Disney. She was very nice!

We got to River Mill and picked a seat next to the water wheel.
IMG_3099_zpsc9a14534.jpg

I don't remember what my parents had, but I got the most delicious breakfast food ever, Mickey waffles! With strawberries, bacon, and sausage. Yum!

When we finished eating we headed back to the room and Mom took a ton of resort pics on the way.

When we got to our room Mom tidied up her packing mess while I finished getting ready. We grabbed our park bag and headed to the boat landing. And Mom took some more resort pics.

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry that it has been so long since the last update. I've been having some internet issues lately and have had problem loading pages. I wanted to do an update tonight, but I'm having trouble connecting to photobucket (which I use to link my trip photos). :badpc:

I'll try to do an update as soon as I can, so hang in there. I promise I'm not going anywhere until this TR is finished!

We took the boat to Downtown Disney, which was a nice ride. I like taking the boat, it is a nice change from the buses and is super pretty. Our plan was to spend the morning doing some shopping and exploring DTD. We hadn't bought anything all week (besides our Minnie ears) so we had a lot of catching up to do. :rotfl:

Our first stop was Disney's Days of Christmas because A) it is right next to the boat landing, B) if there is one thing I love almost as much as Disney, it is Christmas, and C) I wanted to buy a Belle ornament that I saw in the parks earlier in the week.
IMG_2262_zps1f6323e3.jpg

The first thing we saw when we walked in were these Mickey nutcrackers and I fell in love with them!
IMG_3145_zpsd38fcded.jpg

How adorable are they?!
IMG_3146_zps61d9903f.jpg

IMG_2264_zpsa1108090.jpg

When I was younger I danced in The Nutcracker every year and my parents would buy me a nutcracker as an end of show present and I've been collecting them ever since. So these were beyond perfect! I really wanted one, but I really didn't want to spend so much money on it.

I managed to peel myself away from the nutcrackers and looked around the rest of store, which was amazing! I could probably buy the entire store. We looked at all of the ear ornaments, which were super cute, I especially loved the Snow White one. It just fits her so perfectly
IMG_2265_zps6d887fce.jpg

We decided to buy a blue ball ornament with Cinderella's Castle on top and said "Disney World 2013" on it, which is beautiful. While I was l was looking at the Belle ornaments I was planning on getting, my Mom brought over an ornament of Mickey wearing a graduation cap and gown that she found. Considering that we were on my graduation trip he was just too perfect and we decided to buy that one too. I decided not to get the Belle ornament since we were already getting 2.

Our next stop was the pin store. I'm not big on pins, mainly because I don't go to Disney World enough to actually be able to do pin trading. Although, I love looking at them and one day I will be a pin trader! Anyway, the reason for this stop was because I wanted to get the Ellie Badge pin that I saw on our first night and couldn't stop thinking about.
IMG_2367_zpsb2628c2e.jpg

It is just so perfect!! Dad asked why I wanted a grape soda pin and I tried to explain to them the significance of the Ellie Badge, but they just didn't get it. :confused3

After our pin-stop, we walked around and looked at all of the Lego sculptures, which are amazing.

After our tour of the Legos, it was time for our lunch reservation at Portobello!
IMG_3135_zpsff4d2948.jpg

The restaurant is beautiful. We were seated on the patio at a table right next to the water, so we had a great view!
IMG_2276_zps3f9bc122.jpg

IMG_2277_zpsfd8f78fe.jpg

IMG_3138_zps20e5a190.jpg

I think next time I would ask for an indoor table, but that is just because I'm not a huge fan of eating outside. The sun starting beating down on my back half way through our meal and the birds kept jumping me like crazy (I have a small fear of birds). But it was still nice to eat by the water.

Mom and I decided to get specialty drinks since they were covered on the DDP. I think she got the coconut Modo Tuo (it is like an italian soda), which she said was good. I got a raspberry Italian Cream Soda, which was delicious!
IMG_2278_zps67828713.jpg

Here is a tip, notice how the red and white layers are seperated? Make sure you stir it really well. Once I drank through the raspberry layer, the white layer tasted kind of bitter, like club soda or seltzer water. Dad only wanted a water so he ended up ordering another cream soda for me. I mixed that one very well and it was even better.

Dad still wasn't feeling that great from the day before and didn't want to eat anything too heavy, so he was having trouble finding something to get. He asked our waiter for suggestions and he was super nice, he described several dishes and answered all of our questions!

While we were waiting for our meals, our waiter brought over some yummy bread and some roasted garlic with olive oil. You spread the garlic on the bread like butter and tastes amazing!

While we were eating out bread, we were watching the birds. They kept taking sugar packets off the empty tables and dipping the packets in the water so they could open them and eat the sugar. Genius.

Dad ended up getting the Italian Sub.
IMG_2281_zps40c3e624.jpg

He only ate a few bites because it was making his stomach kind of grumpy and didn't want to risk getting sick again. But he thought it tasted good.

Mom got the Farfalle, which she said was very good.
IMG_2280_zps79e2dad5.jpg

I got the Black Linguine with Rock Shrimp.
IMG_2279_zps25d70f8d.jpg

It was delicious!! It had a great flavor.

For dessert, I got the Chocolate Paradise. Which is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and toffee.
IMG_2284_zps2a0bae9c.jpg

It was very tasty! The cake was very moist and had a great chocolate flavor. I don't really like toffee, so I kind of ate around that.

Mom and Dad both had Gelato. Mom got brownie batter and Dad got chocolate chip cookie dough.
IMG_2282_zpsdaa85ee3.jpg

IMG_2283_zps8355e2d0.jpg

I tried them both and they were very yummy.

Overall, our meal here was very good! I would definitely recommend Portobello to anyone. If you are planning on having a meal in DTD, you should definitely check this place out. I've never heard anything about this restaurant on DIS before, so I'm guessing it is a bit of a hidden gem. The reason I picked this restaurant was because I love mushrooms and the name caught my eye, plus it looked pretty. :rotfl: Not the ideal criteria, but it was a great decision!

I don't think I've ever seen a report from Portabello's! You have added another possibility to my list! ::yes::

I don't think I've ever seen a report from Portabello's! You have added another possibility to my list! ::yes::

I haven't either, I just came across it on the Disney World website. I would definitely recommend it, it was one of our best meals all week!

Fun Downtown Disney day! I love the Christmas store, I would buy so many things in there if I had the money!

And you're right, I think Portobello is a hidden gem. I don't know that I've ever read a dining review of it before. I know a few people that had rehearsal dinners there before their weddings though. The food looks really good! Even though it's never really been on my radar before I think I would like to try it (provided it makes it through the big DTD renovation!)

After lunch we continued our shopping spree and headed to World of Disney
IMG_2291_zps229b1c55.jpg

But first we had to stop for a quick picture with Princess Aurora.
IMG_3130_zps72c07792.jpg

That store is woderful! I could spend so much money in there!!

IMG_2292_zpsf90a9857.jpg

We looked around at everything and I spotted an adorable Vintage Minnie plush that I decided to buy. I got a Classic Minnie one on our last trip and I thought it would be a nice tradition to get a plush on every Disney trip. I had a few ideas of which one to select for this trip, but as soon as I saw the Vintage Minnie, I knew that was the one (and I hadn't seen it anywhere in the parks).
IMG_2302_zpsff031cad.jpg

I mean, how cute is she?

We also dicided to get a Cinderella's Castle picture frame, which I love.
IMG_2294_zpsbb2e3633.jpg

I found a ton of stuff that I wanted, but nothing else that I decided to buy. If only I had unlimited money.

We looked around a few more stores after that, but didn't find anything else to buy. But I did see this adorable Minnie/Alice in Wonderland window display in a tea store.
IMG_2295_zpsc5b256eb.jpg

Then we headed back to the Christmas store to get one of the Mickey Nutcrackers that I had fallen in love with earlier. Over lunch my parents convinced me that nutcrackers are expensive in general, so they really weren't that badly priced, especially for Disney, so I decided to buy one after all. And I am very glad I didn't pass them up. However I couldn't decide between the classic purple one or the red drummer and was taking forever to decide, so we decided to come back for them that night so I could think about it some more. And believe me, it took me all day to make a decision.

I stopped for a quick photo op before heading to the bus stop.
IMG_3149_zpsb5ddb9d0.jpg

We were going to spend the rest of the day in Epcot, but wanted to stop by the resort first to drop off our purchases. Dad didn't want to take the boat again since it was to rocky for him in the morning, so we took a bus. Which took forever!

POR shares a bus stop with something else (I don't remember what though), but there were a bunch of people waiting for a bus to POR. We waited a while for a bus and when one finally came to let people off it never changed the destination sign so we didn't know if it was the one we wanted or not. We got up to check and someome else asked the driver but it wasn't our bus and we ended up losing our bench. We had to wait a while longer for our bus to finally get there. The bus ride itself also seemed long, especially since we had to stop at the other DTD bus stop. If you have the option, I would recommend taking a boat back instead of a bus. The ride itself seemed shorter and had great scenery on the way.

We got back to our room and found that the sheets had been changed (even though they had just been changed). Dad had mentioned earlier that he wished he had asked for new sheets since he was sick yesterday and wanted to get rid of the germs. We're guessng that our mousekeeper had the same thought after we had a conversation with her that morning and told her Dad had been sick, just some extra Disney thoughtfulness. We also found this adorable towel animal waiting for us.

YAY your back! :cool1:

When I hit the lottery, I'm going to buy all the pretty things in WOD!!! Sigh… I love that Vintage Minnie! I think my girls will "need" that on our trip… ;)

Sorry for taking so long to write updates, I've been having some Internet issues and have been really busy with job applications.

If I one the lottery, most of it would prop baby be spent on Disney haha.

I totally agree with you on the spending money thing - there is so much I could buy at Downtown Disney if I had unlimited funds!

After we dropped off our purchases in our room, we caught a bus to Epcot so we could finally see World Showcase while it was still light out.

Mom and I considered going on Soarin again but Dad didn't want to since he still wasn't feeling that great and the times board said it was a 40 minute wait, so we decided to skip it. And went straight to World Showcase. Our first country was Canada.
IMG_3167_zps798fc328.jpg

We had spent some time here on our first Epcot day, so we didn't stay long. But we had to check out Niagra Falls.
IMG_3169_zpsed805212.jpg

IMG_2310_zps43d4b7ba.jpg

And the gardens were gorgeous.
IMG_3173_zpsbda7e40b.jpg

We just walked through the UK and France since we had seen both countries on our first Epcot night, but we did stop to take a picture of the beautiful sky in France.
IMG_2320_zpsd3095361.jpg

Our next stop was Morrocco.
IMG_2321_zps93eb787d.jpg

And we had a mini photo shoot with that incredible fountain.
IMG_3188_zps7ada2af7.jpg

(I won't bore you with all of the pics though)

I loved the theming of the bazzar, it seemed so authentic.
IMG_3192_zps7c3fe0fa.jpg

Japan was next.
IMG_2330_zpsb02552a0.jpg

IMG_2329_zps1d4a3a0c.jpg

We spent a lot of time looking in the shop, there were so many pretty things.
IMG_3201_zpscf4404d8.jpg

We took a break from our journey around the world at the American Pavilion.
IMG_3205_zpse43db3af.jpg

We sat on the fountain while Mom went to the Fife & Drum stand to get a jalepeno pretzel that she has been wanting all week.

After our quick break, our journey continued in Italy.

IMG_2335_zps728b1424.jpg

These Venetian masks are absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had an occasion to wear one.
IMG_2338_zps31a3c79a.jpg

Next stop was Germany. We looked at the giant train set for a little while
IMG_3217_zps05964459.jpg

IMG_2342_zps9449960e.jpg

IMG_2344_zps7bf097c6.jpg

We spent some time looking in the Germany shop the first night so we just walked through quickly.

China was our last stop.
IMG_3223_zps9d2a2e76.jpg

The acrobats were performing, so we watched for a minute. But it was super crowded and we couldn't see very well so we moved on to look in the shops.
IMG_3221_zps6d120649.jpg

I found a huge Giant Panda, which is my favorite animal. We became friends.
IMG_3224_zps84a5611a.jpg

Once we had seen every country, we made our way back across the world to use up some snack credits. First stop was in Germany. I'd heard that Karamel Kuche was delicious and I felt the need to get something there, plus everything looked so yummy. I decided on getting a caramel filled chocolate cookie for later. And asked for a container so it wouldn't get smooshed in my bag.
IMG_2347_zps09904235.jpg

I ended up eating it on the plane the next day and it was so good! The cookie was soft and the caramel wasn't too over powering. Yum!

Our next stop was in France so I could get a chocolate crepe.
IMG_3227_zps23f71903.jpg

We found a table to stop and eat and had a great view of Spaceship Earth across the lagoon. The crepe was good, not great. But I am a little spoiled because my mom and memere both make delicious homemade crepes.

On our way out of the park we stopped in the Art of Disney and looked around at all of the amazing art work. There are so many beautiful paintings in there. One day (when I'm rich) I will own a bunch.

Spaceship Earth looked so pretty, so we had a mini photo shoot.
IMG_2351_zps4d26ed86.jpg

IMG_2353_zpsd1708f5a.jpg

Before we left, we were stopped by a CM and asked if we would take a dining survey. We agreed and she took us back to this place with some computers. It turns out the CM was from Maine (like us) so my parents talked to her for a little while as I filled out the survey. I accidently clicked on a restaurant that we didn't eat at so it kept asking a bunch of questions that I couldn't answer. I couldn't figure out how to go back to fix it and it was getting late so I just had to skip through everything to finish it so we could leave and get back to DTD with some time left. Oops. I apolize to the CM that has to go through all of the survey data, I'm sure I made their life a little harder.

So where were we going to spend our last night in Disney? We were heading back to DTD with Disney Quest in mind. I know, it's an odd choice, but we did it on our last trip and had fun plus it was included in our package, so why not?

I don't really remember how we got there, but I think we took the monorail to TTC and took a bus to DTD. I do remember that we were on the bus for a long time since we had to stop at the Marketplace side before getting to our stop.

IMG_2356_zps34757e4f.jpg

IMG_2357_zpse2877f84.jpg

An important thing to know about Disney Quest is that it is extremely confusing to navigate. There are 5 floors and the entrance is somewhere in the middle. Also the staircases don't go to all of the floors, they only go up one floor and the you have to walk around to the other side and use another staircase to get to the next floor up. There is a lot of zigzagging involved, but luckily it is set up like a circle, which makes it a little easier.

Anyway, when we entered we were on the same floor as the rollarcoaster simulator, so that was our first stop. Dad didn't want to take any chances since he still wasn't feeling 100% and Mom hates rollarcoasters, so I was on my own with this one. But they went through the (walk on) line with me so they could watch me create it on the screen. I wasn't super happy with my coaster design because I didn't realize I had run out of track and couldn't go back to change it, so there were some sections I wanted but didn't include. My parents were going to step away to wait for me after the design process, but the CM told them they could go up on the platform with me and watch me in the simulator from a TV screen outside.

They told me to go stand by a particular simulator to wait for my turn. There were 2 boys, about 10, on it and all of a sudden the simulator stopped mid-ride and the CMs seemed a little frantic trying to get them out  so I was moved to another simulator. I don't know how long it took to get them out, but at least they weren't upside down.

Once it was finally my turn, I got situated in the simulator and prepared my self for a fast ride with a lot of upside down moments. Not exactly what I ended up with. I chose the middle speed, and it was so slow! We're talking Dumbo speed. It wasn't too exciting and didn't feel like a rollar coaster at all. When I went upside down I could feel myself falling out of the seat and squishing against the shoulder bars. Dad even commented that it looked like I was going to fall out several times. It was nothing like I remembered it, the first time we did it I thought it was awesome, and this time I was very disappointed.

Here is a picture Mom took of the screen
IMG_2362_zpsd5c32655.jpg

Once we were done with that, Dad wanted to find something to eat. He hadn't had anything since lunch, and if you remember, he didn't eat very much then. DQ has 2 food areas but one of them was closed, so we had to go with the once with basic pre-made sandwiches. While waiting in line I noticed that the cupcakes looked a lot like the pictures I've seen of Starring Rolls cupcakes. And sense I missed out on the chocolate peanutbutter cupcake from Starring Rolls that I wanted to try and Dad didn't want dessert, I convinced him to get the choc PB cupcake for me ;)

IMG_2364_zpsaeffa1a1.jpg

Dad decided on a chicken wrap of some sort, which came with chips. He thought it was ok, nothing special. Mom and I split the cupcake and it was very yummy.

After Dad finished eating, we decided to start at the top floor and work our way down. And got slightly lost finding our way there. Since DQ is so big and so confusing to navigate we agreed to all stay on the same floor so we wouldn't lose eachother.
The top floor is full of retro arcade games and it was kind of fun to check them all out, especially for my parents who grew up playing them. Thinking back we spent a little too much time up here. We made it down to the 4th floor, which is full of modern games (guitar hero, fruit ninja, etc). Unfortunatly we only had time to play a few games before heading out. I was kind of upset that we didn't get to experience more, but we wanted to get back to the Market Place before stores closed so we could grab a few more last minute items.

Looking back, we really didn't plan our time here wisely. If we had bought the items in the morning when we saw them we would have had at least another half hour at DQ. And Dad's dinner break ate up a lot of time, even though it was necessary (he had to eat after all).

Walking to the Market Place was a lot further than I expected and it was super crowded since a ton of people were hitting the bars and such.

Our first stop was the Christmas store so I could get my Mickey Nutcracker. If you remember, I had a lot of trouble deciding which one I wanted that morning. I decided on getting the classic style purple one. And then spend a good 10 minutes looking over each individual nutcracker to make sure to get one without any imperfections. This ended up being pointless because they ended up setting aside the one I selected and giving me on in a sealed box. They offered to let me open the box to check it once Mom joked about how long it took me to pick the perfect one. But I felt kind of silly, so I declined. I wish I had because once I opened the box during Christmas I found that there was a chunk of glitter missing on the side of the arm and a stone missing from one of the hidden Mickeys on the back. It wasn't a huge deal, but I should have taken them up on the offer to check it. :confused3 oh well

While we were there I also decided to buy the Belle ornament that I had been eyeing for a few days (the one I decided not to get earlier that day since I thought we were getting to many ornaments). I'm glad I made this decision, I think I would have regretted not getting it. I use it as a decoration in my room year round, not just for the Christmas tree.

IMG_2371_zpsc032d472.jpg

Our next stop was Goofy's Candy Co to use up the last of our snack credits. Mom got a rice crispy treat and I got some chocolate covered marshmallows to take home. Both were delecious!

After our purchases, we made our way to the bus stop and back to the resort. It was a little sad to hear the bus announcment welcome us home for the last time. :sad1:

Waking up this morning was very sad because we would be leaving Disney in only a few hours.

Although we had time to go to a park this morning before Magical Express picked us up, it was the day of the Disney marathon and Mom had heard travel horror stories. I was willing to risk it, but ultimately we decided to stay at the resort so we wouldn't risk missing ME while stuck in traffic somewhere.

We slept in this morning, got ready, and finished packing. My carry on was completely filled with our Disney purchases, barely anything else  I finished packing before my parents, so while I was waiting for them I laid in bed and watched the fiber optic fireworks on my headboard over and over. And wishing that we could stay in Disney, of course. My parents finished packing and we said good-bye to our gorgeous room.

We walked over to the main building, checked our luggage, and put our carry ons in storage. Then we headed over to River Mill to get some breakfast. Taking some last pictures of the resort on the way.

IMG_3243_zps073700c2.jpg

IMG_3244_zps60028128.jpg

The River Mill was packed! The marathon had made a big difference in the crowd level the last 2 days. All the tables were taken and people had taken chairs from other tables, so when we did find a table it didn't have any chairs with it. After making another lap we found an empty table with enough chairs. We claimed our table and went to get our food in shifts so we wouldn't lose it. I think we all got bounty platters, mine was with Mickey waffles (of course) but I don't remember what my parents had. We also had 1 snack credit left over, so we grabbed a bag of kettle corn to take home.

IMG_2365_zps59e0f2e2.jpg

It was ok, nothing special, it tasted just like any other bagged kettle corn. I wish we had used that last credit for something else at Goofy's Candy Co. It would have been a much better use of the credit.

We finished eating but stayed at the table to drink pur coffee/hot chocolate. Mom went up to get a refill and while we were waiting a family sat down at the table next to us. I noticed that the son was wearing a shirt that had my high school's name and mascot on it. Dad and I were trying to figure out if there was a better chance of them being from our hometown or if there was another school out there with the same name/mascot/colors as ours. When mom came back we pointed it out to her and she said that two of the women looked familiar to her. She asked where they were from and it turned out that not only were they from our home town but were also customers at the bank my mom works at. What are the odds?! We chatted with them for a few minutes and then left the dining area.

We walked around the pool area again and then decided to check out the arcade, since we had a voucher for free credits. We spotted a pac-man air hockey game that released a bunch of pucks during the game. We thought it looked fun (and different) so we decided to play a game. It turned out that the game would use all of our credits. And it wasn't very fun, all of the pucks released at once and it was impossible to do anything but wave your hands around and hope to hit something. It was a super quick game and there wasn't anything else that appealed to us enough to buy more credits.

We headed over to the lobby and sat in a side room to wait. At least it was pretty in there.

IMG_3245_zps9844adc3.jpg

We still had over an hour to wait, a very sad hour. I felt like we were wasting our last moments in Disney and could have made better use of our time. :( After sitting for a little while we decided to kill time by looking in the gift shop again. Mom and I decided to get some Mickey earrings.

IMG_2369_zpsd3a819d9.jpg

These are mine. Mom's look the same, only they are "diamond" studs. I'm glad we decided to make this last minute purchase. I wear them whenever I am missing Disney (which is quite often).

We went back to the lobby for a little while and then about 20 minutes before ME was supposed to pick us we went to get our carry ons from storage and then sat outside on the benches.

Magical Express came and we loaded on, you could just feel the sadness of everyone getting on. I just stared out the window as we drove off Disney property. It was the saddest bus ride ever, I almost felt like crying because I didn't know when I would be able to return (and still don't)

We got to the airport and went through security pretty quickly without any issue. The first thing we did was find our gate to make sure we knew where we needed to go and that our flight information hadn't changed. Since we had so much time until our flight and would be flying through dinner, we decided to grab a late lunch at Outback. Dad and I both got bacon cheeseburgers and Mom got a mushroom swiss burger. When we got our food I bit into my burger and realized that it was undercooked, so I had to send it back. But our waitress was very nice about it and I got another pretty quickly. It was busy and you could tell that our waitress was overwhelmed. She accidently switched my diet coke refill with another table and brought me ice tea instead. But she realized her mistake qucikly and I had a coke in no time. She kept apoligizing but we didn't blame her for anything. Like I said it was pretty busy, I understand why she was so frazzled. Our food was good, nothing that special. Oh how I missed Disney food already!

We finished eating and made our way back to the gate for our 3:30 flight. We didn't have to wait long to board and our first flight was pretty uneventful.

We had a layover in Atlanta for a few hours. We found our gate and waited there. I ended up sitting next to girl who went to my college. What are the odds of stumbling across people from home on two different occasions the same day?

We boarded with no problem but I remember waiting a while for take off for some reason. There was a big Patriots game that night and the pilot announced that he would give game updates throughout the flight. Dad wasn't happy about it because he was taping the game and didn't want to hear anything until he watched it. But to Dad's relief the pilot announced that he wouldn't give updates since some people wanted to wait. However, the guy sitting in front of us was streaming the game on his laptop and decided to unplug his headphones since the guy sitting across from him kept asking him questions. So, Dad couldn't escape the game after all

I remember being really bored on this flight. I ate my cookie from Karamel Kuche (yum!) and just stared out the window for a while. The sun was setting and the sky was really pretty. I just love seeing the sky from a new perspective.

After about half the flight I was just so ready to land, I didn't want to be there anymore. I spent a while looking for hidden Mickeys in the swirl pattern on the wall.

It felt like forever but we finally landed around 9:00. The airport was completely empty except for the people on our flight. We made it down to baggage claim and Mom called the hotel shuttle to tell them we landed. We waited a while for our bags, luckily my bright pink suitcase was easy to spot but my parents' was a little harder to find. Once we got our bags we decided to wait for the shuttle outside since it was so crowded inside and it was pretty nice out (for Maine winter anyway, not compared to Florida). We ended up having to wait another 20 minutes for the shuttle, which was crazy since they knew what time we were scheduled to land and the hotel was only 5 minutes away. It was super foggy out and my parents were debating if we should drive home (about an hour and a half away) or try to spend the night in the hotel. They went back and forth about whether we should drive or not, but if we coulnd't be in Disney we wanted to be at home, so we decided to try. We loaded everything in the car, cleaned the snow off, and I dug my stuffed Minnie out of my carry on so I could snuggle with it on the drive home. I tried to sleep on the drive home, but that was a no go. And the fog was worse than Dad thought, so it was very slow going and added another hour to our drive. But finally we were home, to find that a big pine tree in our back yard broke and partially landed on our neighbor's garage, luckily there wasn't much damage.

What a welcome back to reality.
