Ok, this is a vent. I need to not send the email that is currently running around in my head, so I cam here. She is a class less pain in the **** with zero leadership skills. Our PTA has shrunkin to half its size in the last two years.

I have been box top coordinator this year. It has been our schools best year ever. I have been running the program alone because she has run off half our volenteers. Does she thank me, nooo... she tells me I am not working hard enough and and some other school with totally different demographics makes more than we do.

She moves up to MS next year... I really would like to tell her what I think of her. But that would cause more trouble than it is worth.

She has no life all she does is hang out at the school and scare off people who want to help. We lost half of our executive board since last year.

UGH. That really sucks. We had a similar situation last year but it was the principal that ran over half our board off. Boy was I glad to be out of that.

Hang in there, Haley, and remember that it's about the children, not about her.

Why do you suppose she's president again this year if she was so awful last year? I'll bet it's because no one else wanted to take the time, energy, and additional financial responsibility that is involved in being a PTA president.

I think the best thing for you to do is to go to her and see if she's aware of how she's run volunteers off, and make her take the responsibility for making it right with them.

And then do your best to recruit people to run for the office. Just meeting someone on the parking lot and saying "I wonder if you'd be interested in taking on the PTA President's position...you'd be really great at it" goes a long, long way toward recruiting new volunteers for the position. Those who don't want to commit will still be flattered and support you if you take it on!
