Has any one else seen the new advertisement for Trivago? She looks, and sounds great (Southern Gal?) I don't know why the Trivago guy gives me the creeps but, he does.

Glad to hear this. They've needed someone new for a long, loooong time. Yes indeedy!

Yes, but I think it's an English accent. It's now fashionable to use people with accents in advertising for some reason.

Haven't seen the new commercial yet, but just had to add that I did like the guy. He actually looked real and not like plastic. Some of those ads where the person looks too perfect to be real just turn me off of whatever they are selling.

DH and I always said he was kinda creepy. Like the guy who peeps in your windows...

There was tons of internet discussion about the old Overstock.com ads. If you really want creepy, I think Captain Obvious from Hotels.com meets that description. One of the first ads in the series had him in a hotel lounge with his legs resting on top of a random woman's legs. Now that was creepy.

I kind of liked the guy! I didn't ever see anything creepy about him.

To me, that is "obviously" just plain funny!

I don't like the voice of the new Trivago woman. I wasn't crazy about the guy, but he was OK. I think Captain Obvious is funny.

Trivago is kind of an interesting deal since they're not an American company. There are actually several Trivago guys (and gals) depending on the target market. Many of them seem to be actual Trivago employees working on regional websites, but located in Germany where Trivago has its HQ. The Indian ad (with an employee working in Germany) seems to mix an Indian language with English.

Trivago has its own compilation of their ads shown around the world:

The new gal is Australian Gabrielle Miller. She currently lives in Germany and I think they tried her out in other English speaking markets before airing her ads in the US. She's got some weird experimental films like this one:
