I will have to quote them later...I'm just popping in to check the Southwest flights (Thanks Kelly and Carla!)
9/13/08 MSY flight 2426 depature - 8:00am, arrival - 10:45am Nonstop "Wanna get away" price - $73
9/20/08 MCO flight 1993 deparure - 4:50pm, arrival - 5:35pm Nonstop "Wanna get away" price - $73
Those are the flights that would maximize our time at WDW. Arriving at 10:45 would be SWEET! And both are direct flights!!!! With taxes and fees, each of our tickets would be $167 for a total of $334. Last year we watched flights for a while and finally pounced on a Delta flight leaving at 10 am nonstop and a returning flight leaving at 5ish which had a layover in Atlanta, and I think we paid about $160 total with our fees. So this isn't bad. The question is, do we buy now or wait? It looks like $73 is the lowest we can get each way on these Southwest flights. (It says "Wanna Get away" ranges from $73-$151)
Delta's only flight on the 13th currently is: leave MSY at 1:45pm, Arrive at MCO 4:45pm (Nonstop) and the 20th has a nonstop 12:20 flight out of Orlando; these are currently priced at $209 round trip (total including the fees) per person. That's the best price on a flight that we can get elsewhere (besides Southwest)
I've never flown Southwest, but they seem to work differently than other airlines as far as pricing goes. So, is it possible to get a cheaper flight than $73? I've heard of people getting round trip direct flights with SW for $99. Is it better to wait? Should we jump on the price they have now? If we buy now (or pretty soon) is it possible to get a refund if they do lower the price? Any advice would be helpful as I don't know much about this.
(updated: forgot to note that the price on the other SW flight times was the same or more, so $73 is the lowest on any flight that day currently)
