well I guess I lied about not DISin...

I'm not too important to the auditor..LOL...and it's only one of them.
However, I did give up my desk and move to the back today. We have a "secure room" where we send our wire files to the bank, and that's where I'm sitting today. I usually sit in here to keep an eye on the wires as they are transmitting anyway, but today I'm in here longer.

I got nervous this weekend...when I noticed that the flights for our trip days had SKYROCKETED out of control. I told Mike and he said not to worry, that they'd come down. Well, I still WAS worried. And you know what?...they did come down. I checked today and everything is back to normal. The flight that we were "leaning towards" is still under $160.00 which is okay by me. I know if I ask for an opinion, everyone will say to book now! But something tells me to wait a little longer...about a week. I have noticed when checking the seats left that there are still a LOT of seats left on the planes. Can some experienced flyers tell me how that works. How do these discount companies work (ie. Priceline, hotwire, travelocity, etc.)?

I've used priceline before for a hotel ressy and all I did was request a lower price than what was listed...about 50% less and the hotel accepted my offer. I was shocked. If there's still a ton of seats left you'll probably get a good last minute deal because they'll just want to get thef light full. No worries.

Well, I work for a huge electric company (ever heard of Entergy?) and I'm a very "little person".....so I don't know yet. Though I should hope I'll get some POINTS for giving up my desk today!

I had to do a project on Airline companies in one of my finance classes in college, and through my research I learned that airlines like to get the plane as full as possible. Once they "break even" (based on the cost of fuel), as long as they are selling the tickets for more than what it will cost to feed the passenger (whether it's a snack and a coke or an actual meal) then they are making money. It still takes the same amount of fuel to fly the plane. Am I remembering correctly?
