This is my first trip report, so don't expect any great literary accomplishments.
Nov14-18, 2003
CAST:
DN1: 6yr old nephew...saw preview of Mickey's PhilharMagic on Disney Channel...called just to tell his Aunt that MK had a new attraction.
DN2: 19 yr old nephew...started UF this past summer, no summer vacation (Grad-Night @ MK torrential downpour) Disney gave all Seniors that night 1-day admission to any park.
GF: 19 yr old girl friend to DN2, went to same high-school and student @ UF, 1-day admission to any park.
Dsis: My Baby Sister & Mother to DN1 (has three other boys we left at home this trip) each boy has had trip to WDW with Mom. Each loved their one-on-one time.
Me: Aunt, Sister, Planner, and Disney Fan, aka The Cow
Friday Nov14th
We had resservations at WL for Nov15-18th tried but couldn't get Friday night at Lodge so made ressie for AllStar Sports for one night. We left home (North Florida) at about 12:30pm arrive at AllStar Sports at about 2:45pm...Check-in took about 5 minutes, CM Geffrey was great...we where in Hoops building 3, connecting rooms (boys in one, girls in the other) Now Hoops building 3 is about the furthest building from everything, I feel this was fair because we where only staying one-night...Geffery made sure that DN2 would be able to get room key when he and GF arrived (both had afternoon classes) We took luggage to room and headed off to MK 4:30pm...
DN1 picked some rides and we just enjoyed Main Street and Tomorrowland. DN2 called about 5:30pm they had arrived and were at the rooms, planning to meet some friends that are attending Central Florida at DTD...Told them to have fun..but we will have early morning....we took Monorail to Poly to have Dinner @ Kona Cafe finished just in time for Wishes...
Walked to TTC and were trying to decide how to get back to AllStar the fastest before MK crowd arrived jumped on MGM bus and we where off, just as we arrived at MGM bus to ALLStar arrived and we where on our way back to Resort.
DN1 had to swim so quick trip to Surfboard Bay and Game Point Arcade....DN2 & GF arrived back to Resort early...So ended our first half-day at WDW.
Day 2 Nov 15th (Arrival at Wilderness Lodge & EPCOT)
Departed AllStar Sports after quick breakfast at Mickey D's
Arrived at WL at 8:00am....Walking though the doors into the Great Lobby I am still taken back because of the beauty, with the added Christmas decorations what can I say? DN2 and I go to check-in (this is first reservation made in his name) they grow up so fast, I can see him as a little boy so excited about the fish at the Polynesian...walking around saying "Aloha Cousin" to everyone. (sniff-sniff)
Check-in at Wilderness Lodge, CM Bernie took very good care of us, up-graded to Courtyard View, inner courtyard for my room, courtyard overlooking Hidden Springs Pool (Villas) for DN2 room, as this was just for one night. Our rooms where opposite each other room 5146 & 5147 both had 2 queen beds.
DN2 & GF wanted to use 1-day pass at EPCOT because of Mission Space, so off to our first stop... Mission Space is indescribable I was very apprehensive (Gary Sinise calmed me a little) as I waited looking up at the beautiful blue sky, I thought "What am I doing, this is crazy?" I being the Pilot had to continue the mission.....Loved It....I was worried about DN1 because he doen't do the big rides so I talked to him all though the ride, as he was the Commander. He also loved it and wanted to ride again, Dsis didn't do well and felt a little woozy she was engineer which but her on the end I think passengers on the end feel the spinning more. She never wants to ride it again. DN2 loved it GF didn't. (she had end seat) DN1 was so brave that he was rewarded with Hat and T-shirt.
We continued at FutureWorld and saw most of the attractions then I suggested a break at Ice Station Cool...As we are walking through the entrance I sugguest everyone try Beverly...as it is the best...It's one thing to fool your family but there was an older man in a wheelchair with his son they overheard me and went straight for Beverly the son filled the cup and handed it to the gentleman in the wheelchair, he tossed it back and made a terrible sound, just as his son was doing the same...I apologized over and over as the rest of my group laughed at me.
Lunch break at Coral Reef Restaurant (DN2 runs over to MS for fastpass for after lunch) Lunch was great I loved the Lobster Bisque and shrimp, GF had Grilled Jumbo Shrimp - rosemary skewered shrimp, Taishan noodles, garlic, basil, DN2 Grilled New York Strip Loin - roasted potatoes, asparagus, shiitake mushroom DN1 Cheese Pizza, Dsis also had Lobster bisque and mussels
I will add that on second day at EPCOT that a Mother with child in stroller took this Disney Vet out in a split second. One minute we are walking back to Mission Space to use our fastpass, next I'm down on the ground in the middle of the breezeway at Inoventions East. I felt like a cow landing hard on my left knee and hand.....Emergency Emergency....worried CM, Mother of family of five apologizing....2DN'S Dsis and nephews girlfriend trying to make sure I was alright...strangers stopping to see the cow that had made it's way to EPCOT.....All I wanted to do was to sit right there where I was for a minute...I asked if the baby was OK...after all he just had a large cow fly over him...Baby was great...Told Mother she didn't need to call the law..maybe she meant lawyer? Told CM no I didn't need medical assistance....I didn't want to spoil even one hour for anyone and I knew that it would require much paper work...So I sucked it up and continued,
I lasted long enough to give three fastpasses away to a family that had just been told it would be a 90 minute wait to ride Mission Space The Mother said "I Love You" I said,"just a little PIXIE DUST pass it on.".....
After DN1 and DN2 rode MS I asked what next? DN1 said I want to go back to Wilderness Lodge....Yeah...While they where riding MS I knew I was going to have trouble walking. (Ziplock baggie did come in handy) CM gave us ice so I did get ice on my knee right away.
Myself, Dsis, and DN1 headed back to WL to get our room assignments and headed for room. Dsis got luggage with bellman and we settled in. After keeping ice on my knee I called guest services for a heating pad in no time it was
delivered. Dsis & DN1 headed for Silver Creek Spring Pool, I camped out on balcony standing to watch DN1 at pool.
We decided to call Miss Jenny's In Room Dining. Dsis and I had New York Strip Steak - with buttermilk mashed potatoes and buttered corn, Homemade Cornbreads and Biscuits, DN1 had Chicken Fingers followed with, Triple Chocolate Moose Stampede - Kahlua flavored chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and fudge icing We enjoyed this dinner and DN1 thought it was cool that they served it all right in the room.
He and Dsis where off to Buttons & Bells Arcade, returning to room after EWP (I watched the parade from balcony)
DN2 and GF meet-up with same friends from Central Florida and continued to World Showcase I had made PS for them at Teppanyaki Dining Room for 7:15pm, He went and requested PS be changed to include his friends so all six dined together and had a great time...after IllumiNations they returned to the Lodge.
GF loved WL and had never stayed on property before she said she thought AllStars was great, but WL is unbelievable she loved the balcony overlooking the pools.
We all had a day to remember.
