A while ago I posted, asking what you all thought about my taking our tt to FW with my 4 dd's. You all encouraged me, offering assistance, giving pointers.

Well, after some deliberation and allowing some shock to wear off, I have made the sad decision to not tow the tt. It is not a happy choice for us, but I feel it is the wiser.

Happily, I was able to secure a cabin with the AP rate! :Pinkbounc It won't be the same as using our second home, but it's still FW! I hope to get some lime green poster board and post a huge Mikey head with my user name on the front of the cabin. Please, stop in and say hello!

BTW, I still haven't decided on the long term future of our tt. I am taking it on a short trip early October. But to keep it for two weekend trips a year may not be worth the storage cost! Once my financial situation is clearer, I would love to buy a class C. But my situation isn't as clear as I thought it was going to be at first.

Thanks for all your support, encouragement and help! (and for reading this longer than I thought it would be post!)

Vicki

I hope you find peace with that difficult desicion! I am very happy for you and know that you will have a great time!

The cabins are wonderful and you will still be at FW! I think that you'll be happy with your choice. You'll be able to enjoy yourself(as much as you can) and not have all the worry that the tt brings.

I would like to wish you and your girls a very magical trip.

All our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Vicki I was one who said go for it. Well at the time I thougt it was a good idea but since then we took our 25'TTcamping 4 hours away with the 3 girls and it was dam stressfull! I recend what I said earlier. I can't picture being the solo driver for 20+ hours with a TT and DD's along. Its a hard enough drive without the TT to Orlando. You made the right decision!

I would not however make any quick decisions regarding your TT right now. Put it in storage and worry about it in the spring. Besides if you do decide to sell you'll get a better price then.

I have thought of you often and hope you and you DDs are managing well. Take care of each other!!

Sue

Vicki,
Good for you! I'm proud of you for going with the flow. Its the best thing you can do to not lock yourself into a decision when it later doesn't look as good as it did in a time of panic and shock. You are setting a wonderful example for your girls.

I pray for you often, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that here in the land of bright green Mickey heads!

Vicki,
I am glad you made this decision. You know my husband and I were worried. But I know you will like the cabins we looked at them the last time we were there and it has one great feature the TT does not have...HOUSEKEEPING!! now that is something to shout about.

I too will have a lime green Mickey posted on the trailer. I hope we get a chance to meet. We feel like long time friends already.

God Bless and keep you and the girls..

You are going to love the cabins. We did. When you return at night all your dishes will be put into the dishwasher (while you are at the parks) and waiting for your return clean! I don't think your tt can do that. We are driving down in December towing a pop-up. I wish I could switch to the cabins but because of funds it's the camper for us. You will be so happy with your decision.

We are staying at the cabins, and I heard nothign but wonderful stuff about them!!

Enjoy,
15 days to go..:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

LOL! No, not unless you count one of my 4 dd's sneaking in ahead of me to get it done! (Fat chance!)

Thank you, Viss845. Yes, I too have heard all wonderful things...there's just something special about having your own bed, sheets, floor from the bed to the bath, etc...

But......I am looking forward with great anticipation! Cabins w/out my tt are by far a better deal than no WDW at all!!! :D

BTW, Viss845...welcome to the DIS! Hope you have fun here!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this dicision to make. We were already to go, but something kept telling me it was a bad idea to take our TT with son, daughter, son-in-law, grandson, husband and myself in a trailer that sleeps three! Realizing I would be the one doing all the work while everyone else had a wonderful time, I made the executive decision to stay in the cabins. My daughter was really mad at the time, but pointing out all the things wrong with taking the TT has made her realize it probably wouldn't have worked out. (Not to mention she wanted to get from Ohio to Disney in a day and a half! Obviously, she has never towed anything.) So, making a long story short, the Oct. trip was canceled and we've rescheduled for May. No trailer, inbetween college semesters so no one misses class and our grandson will be five by then and may understand a little more whats going on. Good luck on your trip. Hope the cabins are everything every one says they are.

I just today sent you a PM as I was thinking of you and still a bit concerned about you doing all that driving and setting up alone. You will have a great time in the cabins I am sure, and most importantly you will have a chance to relax! Have a wonderful trip and look for my lime green ribbon!:wave2:

Vicki, it sounds like you've really thought through your decision. The cabins really are great...very relaxing, homey and comfy. And even though they're not your TT, you're still going to be in FW!

Just want you to know too that I think about you so often when I sign on the boards, and hope you and your 4 DDs have a safe and happy trip. :D

Vicki,

I have been reading your posts and thought of you often. Almost ten years ago I woke up one morning and found myself to be a widow. I was left with a three year old and was six months pregnant with our second child. I admire you for being able to take this trip alone for the first time. With all that being said, you will love the cabins. My girls and I have tried different resorts, but the cabins are our favorite. I would love to buy a camper one day, but for now the cabins are perfect for us. We will be at Ft. Wilderness Nov 21-29. Good luck to you and have a great trip.
