A tip I haven't seen before

Since you mentioned your husband would have been kicked out of the room if you didn't have the air freshener, I thought I should mention matches.

Not sure if many people know this but striking a match burns up some nasty smells in the room. We always keep matches in the bathroom. They are my preference since I don't like breathing in the chemicals of the air fresheners and sometimes the fresheners just mingle in with the smell in the roo

I will be trying this....

I have packed liquid hand soap for every vacation we've gone on. And a roll of paper towel to dry our hands with.

I also pack Lysol and Lysol wipes. The remotes, doorknobs, and faucets get sprayed down when we enter the room.

Yeah, I'm a germaphobe. ;)

I have to show this to my DH!!! He thinks I'm insane! Can you imagine what has collected on them...wait...you have...that's why you do it too!!!!!

Downey fabric sheets work great as room fresheners. Also if you gently rub them over you and your clothes they keep mesquetos (spelled wrong) away. We tested this in Kansas and in our mountains here in Arizona.

My Husband says I am prepared for any Disaster that could come at me.
I have a plastic tub that I have been filling up with all of the little things I
think I may need for our trip.
As of now I don't think I can put one more item in it.

I have:

Lysol spray and wipes (with throw away gloves to wear)

Mini bottle of Dish soap (and heavy duty Paper towels for washing with)

Bought a smaller spray bottle and will add Wrinkle Release
(so I won't have to Iron)

They had disinfecting wipes in a travel sized pack at Target for $1!

I bring Dawn wipes for dishes. They work GREAT!!

They sell travel sized Downey wrinkle release in the laundry aisle at Target also!

:thumbsup2

Hand Sanitizer!! It helps when you have 3 DS's that would never want to waste the time to wash their hands , but if I just squirt that on they have no choice! Atleast I know I tried!:cool1:

When we stay concierge, we like to bring aluminum foil with us so we can grab some snacks for later and stick them in the fridge.

Terry

I always bring Fabreeze (sp?) when ever I go to any hotel to freshen up the bedspreads or curtains.

Ok, we just got back (Oct1) some things that I would bring would be:

A power strip (w/2 cell phones, digital camera, camcorder & sound machine no way I would have found enough outlets)

plug-in air freshner

bathroom paper cups, kitchen paper cups

clorox wipes

Dollar store rain ponchos for the stroller & 2 clothespins

laundry detergant (powder-I scooped out 1 load & labeled & put in a snack bag

Can't forget this one---Pack your clothes & souvenirs in the XXL plastic bags-sold @ Target,Walmart any grocery store...when we waiting for our flight @ MCO it rained-buckets & we watched the bags get soaked-they didn't pull they tarp over it. So :) I did that!

I did pack way to much, but those are the things that made a BIG difference in our trip.

LOL Mythbusters did this and proved it was Busted! Just a Myth the Match does nothing . Just thought it was funny. My SIL has Matches in her BR said in Germany they have nothing else ( at least when she was growing up )

How do you all carry all this stuff if you are flying? we are flying and only bringing carry ons. can i pack a can of lysol?? or wipes maybe

We check our bags and Mickey's magical express picks them up and magically brings them to our room with in three hours. I love that service. The only thing I carry on is what I need to check in at resort and hit the parks :thumbsup2

our #1 thing to bring is a night light-and we like the glade ones that have to air fresheners int hem too. Just keep the screw on lid and bring it back home. We also bring the dollar store shoe holders-but not for shoes-we use them on cruises and hotel rooms for sunglasses, pins, etc, etc. And we always bring a variety of ziplock bags-handy for everything

My germaphobia starts with the airline flight, I carry the Clorox wipes in the flat travel pack and wipe down the table tray and arm rest on the airplane.:surfweb: :surfweb:

I'm with you. The sanitizing begins on the plane. And don't forget about the knob for the tray table. Being a germophobe, I always bring Airborne and Emergen-C with me.

Also I NEVER walk barefoot in a hotel room, always bring a pair of flip-flops. Ever see the investigative reports on hotel rooms where they bring in a black light? I don't dwell on the findings, otherwise I would never stay in a hotel again.

Sunscreen, bug spray, Tylenol, travel packs of antibacterial wipes (the two types...for skin and for objects), lotion, camera, inhalers, medicine, Dramamine, mints, gum, small contact lens solution, contact cases for all three of us as well as a pair of glasses for each (just in case), KTTW cards, printed itenerar and ADR numbers and spare clothes (this is all for the parks daily).

In addition, we pack the big Ziploc's, laptop, bottled water, hangers that "clip" (for hanging wet clothes and such), breathing machine, albuterol for the machine, liquid hand soap, Bath & Body Works products, laundry detergent, fabric softner, surf shoes, extra medicine, snacks for the room, containers of Lysol wipes and antibacterial hand wipes, a pair of tweezers, fingernail clippers, a first aid kit and spare baggies of all sizes. This all comes in the room with me.

I also put fabric softner sheets in every suitcase and also put them in the drawers that I place our clothes in.

We drive so my husband always packs a tool kit of essentials and a tarp "just in case"!

The KTTW cards, itenerary and ADR numbers are WDW specific, however everything else always goes with us (in addition to our clothes, spare shoes, cell phones, chargers, H&BA, address list for postcards, cameras, and extra memory sticks) on every vacation we go to!

I wipe down the toilet, then the toilet handle with Lysol wipes right off. I then do the sink and shower handles. I also wipe the remote control, phone, door handles, and restroom door handles.

I am not a clean freak really, it is just "home" for awhile and I want it to have the least amount of outside germs that it possibly can!

We also bring our own pillows... I am afraid people drool or that the pillows have other germs!

We never use he comforters either, but do use the blankets if they appear clean!
